2 KNAUER ENGINEERING KNAUER ENGINEERING is a company working in the field of engineering and development with its own production facilities. Its wide range of products offers custom-made planning to all kinds of users in the construction sector such as concrete plants in particular. KNAUER ENIGNEERING develops and produces highgrade manufacturing systems as well as durable and reliable machinery: external vibrators and vibrating tables, concrete block making machines, concrete block moulds as well as control systems for a wide range of application. In addition KNAUER ENGINEERING provides a number of services like production planning, problem definition and reconstruction in the entire sectors of vibration and control technique. Referred to vibration technique, the company s main task is to advise on the production of high-quality and high-grade concrete elements. KNAUER ENIGNEERING produces concrete block making machines in its own plant. Quality assurance, optimization and further development are in the long-standing tradition of KNAUER. Tradition and Progress Egglayer system has a long tradition. The first automatic KNAUER egglayers for the production of high-quality concrete products were developed in the 50s and 60s.The working principle remains the same. Referred to the investment/productivity ratio the manufacturing of concrete elements like hollow blocks, landscape units, bricks, retaining wall units etc. onto a concrete slab is to this day the most cost-effective and efficient method. KNAUER has continued to extend its egglayer line and developed new concepts that are state-of-the-art. The KNAUER-system egglayers are working today fully automatically, are controlled by PLC and are provided with the latest technology. Mechanical Design All KNAUER-system egglayers are built on rigid frame design in welded construction resulting in a high stiffness of the machine and producing high-quality products. The narrow track width allows optimal utilization of available production area. Productivity The maximization of the machine utilization is extremely important for the increasing productivity. The egglayer are designed for quick and easy mould change as well as for easy access concerning cleaning and maintenance.

3 Control System The electric control offers a high degree of reliability and flexibility for optimal performance. The mode of operation, manual, semi- or fully automatic, depends on the type of products, the customer s requests and the filling characteristics. The fully automatic KNAUER egglayers can be guided by a mechanical sensor for travel correction orientating to the previously produced block row or by fixed trails. In both cases the machine stops after having reached the programmed number of cycles. Efficient Production KNAUER ENGINEERING offers complete planning for concrete plants. The mould depth varies between 550 mm and 1100 mm. KNAUER is able to offer a wide selection of options in order to adapt the machine size to the desired product size; available mould heights: From 175 mm to 600 mm for standard machines and up to 1200 mm for special machines.

KNAUER Universal In addition to the standard egglayer machines special models are offered. The Universal, for example, is designed for use with a face concrete device for the production of high-quality curbstones. ❶ Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) ❷ Hydraulically activated ram locking ❸ Infinitely variable time adjustment by potentiometer for - hopper gate - stamping interval (for production without overhead vibrators) - demoulding delay ❺❻❼❽ ❸❶ ❷ ❹ Direct drive of wheels ❺ Number of cycles per row and distance between layers is adjustable. optional travel measuring allows automatic return to starting point. ❻ Feed box movements can be adjusted with up to 4 different filling zones above the mould. Number of strokes in the zones can be adjusted by setting decade switch (0-9). ❹ ❼ Pre-vibration adjustable in 1/10 sec. by setting decade switch. Optional pre-vibration start: point can be selected. ❽ Display showing passing vibration time, number of strokes, distance driven between layers, and number of cycles completed.

5 Palisade Egglayer An additional special model is the Palisade egglayer machine which is able to produce elements up to 1200 mm in height. KNAUER Compact This machine is solid and productive. The Compact is suitable for the production of block elements up to a height of 330 mm. The stable, torsionproof frame and the solid processing also enable production under extreme climatic conditions. If required the KNAUER Compact will be equipped alternatively with automatic or manual control. It is easy to operate by a single man without special technical skills. A quick-mouldchange mechanism enables a diversified production program that can be run without long set up time. The small X-104 The X-104 egglayer is easy to operate and suitable for the production of special elements and concrete elements in small quantities. This model is offered in three versions for different product heights: 330 mm, 400 mm, 600 mm.
