2 1. Introduction 1.1. General This specification covers the minimum standards and requirements for the construction, properties, testing and packing of the optical termination box intended for installation internally in customers premises, wall mounted in telecommunications network and hung in the building Description The optical termination box will be used to connect between distribution cables for medium and low density fiber count installation to drop individual cable into customer premise in fiber optic network. The optical termination box should include the plastic casing, fiber connectors, inner panel and other necessary materials for the termination of optical fiber cable Reliability The quality of Optical Termination Box is critical to reliable optical transmission performance. The product shall be produced with ISO-9001 certified production facilities and quality control system is applied the process from product design to packaging. 2. OPTICAL TERMINATION BOX for FTTx 2.1. General 2C Outlet optical termination box has designed a cost effective solution for a protecting the passive demarcation of premise fiber. The 2C Outlet is injection molded with an integral fiber retention system allowing for quick installation and a positive lock strain relief for most premise fiber cable Configuration Compact size takes up less wall space for installation Excellent rain prevention by using silicone gasket Protects fiber connection from accidental contamination or movement allowing long term Applying SC/LC type connector. 4 2.4. Inner Panel Construction Inner Panel must be spacious enough to install the fibers easily. (1) Dimensions (mm) : nominal 90(L) 140(W) 15(H) (2) Capacity: up to 2 fibers (for heat shrinkable sleeve) (3) Inner Panel can be installed sleeve protection splice & mechanical protection splice Specifications The splice organizer shall accommodate at least 80cm of spare fiber on either side of the splice. The design of the splice organizer shall ensure that the fiber shall not bent to a radius 30mm. The splice protector shall restore the mechanical integrity of the fiber and shall not create any residual forces in the fiber. The splice protector may be a suitable plastic heat shrinkable material with an internal stainless steel rod for tension relief. PAGE 4 / 8

5 2.5. Cable Inlet There shall be sufficient space at the base of the box to allow access to the cable entrance ports and the incoming cables. OUTLET shall completely restore the sheath integrity of the cables and provide secure storage for the fiber splices. Cable Holder shall be required to secure the outside plant cables to the OUTLET. 7 3. TEST CERTIFICATION 3.1. General This section specifies the OUTLET and its material physical, chemical environmental and mechanical requirements and the tests to be applied for the determination of compliance with these requirements. The materials of the OUTLET shall be compatible with all cable components and splicing materials 3.2. Workmanship All components of the OUTLET shall be high quality design, workmanship, and finish. All components shall be free of pinholes, cracks, sharp edges or other defects which may detract from the service requirements of the OUTLET. All metal and plastic welds shall be a high standard of workmanship Materials The components of the OUTLET and its accessories shall not contain any hazardous or toxic materials. All the components shall be stainless steel or AL with equivalent corrosion resistance. The OUTLET shall have a robust construction. 4. DELIVERY 4.1. Packing The Optical Termination box shall be packed with a complete kit containing all components necessary for installation. Each item shall be covered with protective materials to prevent scratching or damages during shipping or storage. Complete assembly and installation instructions in English shall be provided with each packaged unit. The final shipping cartons shall have sufficient strength and durability to protect the contents in the process of handling during storage and shipping by land, sea, or air 4.2. Marking The details given below shall be distinctively marked in English with a weatherproof material, on at least two sides of the shipping carton.
