Hellas Construction, Inc., for $1,217, for - general development, and b. Shaw Sports Turf, for $501, for - synthetic turf installation, and authorize the City Manager to approve and sign the contracts. INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND The East Waluga Parks Sports Fields Replacement Project meets the goals and vision of Parks Plan 2025, adopted July 31, 2012, to convert the natural turf fields, replace fence netting on both fields, remove hazard trees, and make ADA improvements for access. Goal 2: Investing in Existing Parks and Natural Areas, Objective: f. Maximize use of existing sports fields in the community, recognizing the limited opportunities to provide new fields. Goal 2: Action Steps: #5, Pursue opportunities to modify and develop additional athletic fields in order to address current and future youth and adult sport needs. The budget for the project was approved as part of the CIP 2017/18 and 2018/19. The amount budgeted for the project was $1,700, We anticipate contributing from our department contingency $18, to the project A Avenue PO BOX 369 Lake Oswego, OR

2 Page 2 DISCUSSION An engineering design process was initiated for the project in the fall of 2017 and completed in the summer of An engineer was hired to prepare engineering for the project and assist in the construction phase. Consulting engineer Mackenzie and Parks staff prepared solicitation documents to seek two contractors, one for site development and one for synthetic turf field installation. Construction documents for each element of the Project were also prepared as part of the solicitation. The two construction elements of the Project were put out for bids, and the following bids were received: A. General Site Improvements Hellas Construction, Inc.: $1,217, K&E Excavating: $1,299, B. Synthetic Turf Field Installation Shaw Sports Turf: $548, Field Turf: $607, Hellas Construction, Inc. $628, RECOMMENDATION The Parks and Recreation Department recommends the City Council award the following construction contracts: a. Hellas Contruction, Inc., for $1,217, for general site development; and b. Shaw Sports Turf, for $501,187.00, for synthetic turf installation, and authorize the City Manager to approve and sign the construction contracts. ATTACHMENT 1. Hellas Construction Inc. Bid 2.
