1 The World of Modern Marine Solutions

2 Back in 2004, Mabes, Futura S.p.a. and Nautical Base Flavio Gioia, a company operating for more than 40 years in the marina and shipyard management, have established a successful partnership. Soon, this alliance made a significant difference in the marine sector, offering both production of floating docks, as well as supply of integrated services like design, planning, docking system installation complete with anchoring, mooring posts and catenaries. Our vast range of floating docks and all the relevant accessories includes:» Polyethylene floating docks» Concrete float docks with discontinuous buoyancy» Concrete float docks with continuous buoyancy» Monoblock concrete docks» Concrete breakwaters» Berths» Mooring lines» Access walkways Polyethylene floating docks Floating docks, produced by Marine Building & Service srl, are designed according to three basic principles: STRENGTH, STABILITY AND LOAD CLASS. The strength is guaranteed by hot dip galvanized steel loom, made to work in unfavourable weather conditions. Floats form and catamaran disposition guarantee a higher stability against transverse careening, according to AIPCM-PIANNC, assuring a higher load capability. The result is a stable, reliable, long-lasting product, able to guarantee maximum security standard performance. Docks are available in different configurations, up to 12 m long and 3 m wide. The docks can be supplied with Polyethylene or concrete floats. 2

The standard product colour is black, but other colours can be supplied upon request. The floats can be supplied in two different heights (while length and width remain the same), in order to give free edge and a variable thrust, according to the needs. Variating the number and the type of floats, according to the dock dimensions, one can have different configuration related to the flow. The floats are watertight; however, they are internally supplied with a 15 kg/m 3 Polystyrene block, which guarantees a thrust necessary for the dock floating, even in the case of float damage. Polyethylene floats are elastic to blows and shocks and, in the case of damage, can be easily repaired by welding. The clamped flange with stainless steel bolts makes a connection between the floats and the pier structure. DECKING Decking is made of exotic wood, 20mm thick, hard and naturally durable, with superficial flutes. It has a central part fixed with stainless steel bolts to the EN-AW-6060 T6 Aluminium alloy longerons, and two removable lateral parts which enable access to the lower part of structure and systems that may be installed. As an alternative to wooden, the WPC slats can be used. This material is 70% made of sawdust and 30% of Polypropylene; it does not release pollutants and is completely recyclable. CONNECTIONS The connections between dock are made by ShA75 Neoprene blocks, tightened with stainless steel bolts. As an alternative, connection hinges - bolted to the heads, can be made. ACCESSORIES For anchoring docks to the mooring posts, two robust lifting eyebolts are positioned on every head. Eyebolts with stainless steel rings, or mooring cleats of various sizes (according to the type of vessel to be moored), are positioned on both sides. The docks are predisposed for a fingers connection on every 0,5 m. 3

The cement is for marine use (high dosage of cement), with various size aggregates, reinforced with structural polymeric fibre adequately mixed in various sizes; and a metallic net. Four threaded A2 stainless steel rods establish the connection of each float. DECKING Decking is made of exotic wood, 20mm thick, hard and naturally durable with superficial flutes. 6 Cement monoblock dock The dock is made of a monoblock cement float, without a steel frame. The concrete float is made in naval employment cement structure, suitably reinforced, opened at the bottom, with a polystyrene nucleus, density 15 kg/m 3. Specific joints composed of neoprene blocks, which are then locked with steel cables placed in specially designed hollows on the head of the blocks, make the connection between the docks. The docks are anchored by helical anchors that come out of the specially designed hollows on the head of the blocks. PVC pipes are available for the utilities, along with PVC valve boxes, placed according the needs. Cement monoblock dock 6

7 Breakwater Depending on the application and conditions, two types of docks are designed: 20mx4, 2m high for the difficult conditions, and 12x3x2m for standard condition. The docks are made in naval employment cement, suitably reinforced. Specific joints composed of neoprene blocks, which are then locked with steel cables placed in specially designed hollows on the head of the blocks, make the connection between the docks. 8 Rowing piers Rowing piers are designed to reply to their specific purpose, particularly the low free edge (18/20 cm) combined with the needed load class (100/120 kg/m 2 ). Rowing piers have rotational Polyethylene floats, and can be supplied in different configurations, with lengths varying from 6-12m, and width going from 2,40-3m. Furthermore, piers with sliding arm, alignment and timing towers can be made, as well. Sabaudia Lake has recently obtained our Start Rowing piers on their track field. For the European Championship 2012, we have supplied the Varese Lake with Rowing piers completed with Star Tower floats. Platforms for alignment, timing and cable tensioning, were realized as well, for the same project, using the piling (piles and pile guides) system. exotic wooden fender neoprene joint exotic wood planks 20mm thick polyethylene floats with polystyrene 15kg/mc exotic wooden mobile panel fender eyebolt anchoring 8
