IMPORTANT PARAMETERS OF MESH FABRICS Type of fiber Our mesh fabrics are made of fiberglass for high mechanical strength in order to reinforce the render. In addition we are using E-type of glass which provides higher tensile strength compared to C glass used by some producers. Type of coating We developed three main types of coatings to address market needs and trends. Alkali resistance coating (A101) is a standard coating which provides excellent protection to the mesh fabric and guarantees durability to the system. It meets all requirements of ETAG 004 which requires 28 days in alkali 3-ion solution. Super alkali resistance coating (A102) was developed to meet the stringent requirements of French norms designed by French authority CSTB. This authority requires a 90 day test in alkali solution. Marble coating (A105) is used as standard for meshes developed for the marble processing industry. Mesh size This parameter has to be considered due to render type used. Generally a small mesh size is perfect for neutralizing the micro-cracks. A larger mesh size is suitable for a renders with a bigger particle size. Initial Tensile Strength This represents the tensile strength that is guaranteed before the mesh is applied into the render and exposed a highly alkaline environment. For ETICS systems the minimum requirement is 2000 N / 5 cm. Impact sensitive areas or areas exposed to increased stress such as the base of the wall should be treated with higher tensile strength mesh fabrics. Tensile strength (N/5 cm) Standard reinforcement 2000 R R131 R178 R275 R451 High impact resistance Mesh type Final Tensile Strength During drying the mesh fabric has to resist the high alkali environment of very aggressive ph. Once the render is dried, there is no more alkali environment and the tensile strength is stabilized at the final value. According to ETAG 004 the value of this parameter shouldn t be less than 1000 N / 5 cm and the drop of the value shouldn t be more then 50%. ph 14 7 Evolution of alkaline environment in time Aggressive alkaline environment 28 days

HOW TO APPLY 1 At first corner and window profiles have to be correctly applied on the prepared surface. After applying the profiles apply the cm mesh strips diagonally in every corner of windows and doors to avoid cracking. 2 Apply the first layer of base coat over the entire surface. 3 Apply the mesh from top to bottom of the wall by pressing it into the first layer of base coat from the centre to the side. 4 The overlap between two mesh strips should be minimum 10 cm to ensure continuity of reinforcement. 10 cm 5 Apply the rest of the base coat keeping the mesh in upper third of the base coat.

APPLICATIONS Mesh Fabric for ETICS 1 House temperature is one of the most important factors which help us to feel comfortable. Thermal insulation system is the right solution to ensure thermal comfort. When ETICS is applied, the outside wall has higher heat storage ability, so if the temperature changes, the wall can absorb or release energy to keep the indoor temperature stable. Performance requirements for the complete system and components are specified by ETAG This document is a guideline for European Technical Approval of external thermal insulation composite systems. A B C E D F G H A B C D E F G H adhesives thermal insulation products of the same material mechanical fixing devices base coat glass fibre meshes as reinforcement key coat finishing coat decorative coat ROLE OF THE MESH FABRICS IN THE SYSTEM Variations of external temperature, contact of two different substrates (typically EPS and mineral wool), render shrinkage and movement of the insulating panels may cause cracks on the surface of the system. These cracks can damage the whole system by allowing water infiltration and mould development. Similar problem can appear due to impact. For these reasons glass fibre mesh fabric is a mandatory component of ETIC system. 1 ETICS = External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems 2 ETAG = European Technical Approval Guidlines

APPLICATIONS Mesh Fabric for Facades Facades are an external part of the building. They decorate and protect buildings against variable weather conditions. Facades are usually designed as a system of layers used directly on block work. The systems differ due to market habits and specific needs. In some countries monocouche facades are very popular solution (UK, France). Monocouche stands for an one coat, ready mixed, usually cementitious coloured render. Mesh fabric is embedded as standard within all types of facades. A B C A B C base coat reinforcing coat finishing layer ROLE OF MESH FABRICS IN THE FACADE Mesh is an important part of the reinforcing coat to prevent cracking and by that ensuring the good facade appearance and the increase of the facade durability. Crack appears due the variations of external temperature, render shrinkage during drying period or by mechanical damage due to strong rain, wind or hail. USING GRIDS FOR FACADE RECONSTRUCTION For facade reconstruction of old buildings with typically mixed masonry substrate or very uneven substrate our grid G120 is highly recommended to achieve easily flat surface and avoid standard non comfort solution of metal grids. For this application thick mortar is usually used. This requires to have very open but strong mesh which can anchor and support the mortar to be easy apply and adhere correctly. Mesh Fabric for Internal Walls Internal walls are a significant decorative housing element. To avoid cracks development and improve the durability of nice finish of the walls, fiberglass mesh fabrics are implemented to the internal multicoat render systems and recommended by the render producers.

APPLICATIONS Mesh for Tile Finishes Tile finishes are popular solution for both facades and internal walls. Tiles are generally very sensitive to the quality of substrate. In order to absorb the tension which is present during the whole life time of the building, it is recommended to use fiberglass mesh fabric. A B C A B C base coat with reinforcement glue tile finish Mesh for Floor Heating Electrical floor heating mats offer warm comfort as needed but on touch cold floor tile are used. This system offers floor heating without the complex installation of heating components, exchangers and other difficult-to-install systems. The advanced electronic heating management and the relatively cheap heating mat installation requires almost no maintenance expense, making this an effective electrical heating system. Electrical wiring is attached to glass fibre mesh belts of cm width by self adhesive tape or by hand eventually machine sewing. The use of glass fibre belts with a self-adhesive coating on one side makes the installation of electrical heating mats even easier. A B C A B C floor heating reinforced screed tile finish

APPLICATIONS Double reinforcement JOINTS BETWEEN TWO DIFFERENT SUBSTRATES When two materials with different coefficients of expansion meet one other, there is a risk that the render will crack. In order to absorb the tension, it is recommended that an additional strip of glass fibre mesh is applied over the joint. A B C D A B C D joint of concrete and brick substrate strip of reinforcement over joint reinforcing coat finishing coat INSTALLATION OF CABLES AND PIPES The area where the channels for water or gas pipes and electrical wiring are installed is a potential source of crack development. Therefore it should be covered by additional strip of glass fibre mesh. A B C A B C strip of reinforcement over cables reinforcing coat finishing coat

APPLICATIONS ADFORS Mesh for Non Construction Applications MARBLE SLAB REINFORCEMENT Another area in which glass fibre mesh fabric is used is the large scale marble processing industry. When a large marble slab is made, the glass fibre mesh is bonded on one side of the slab. This process prevents marble slab damage during manipulation and further processing. To assure strong adhesion, mesh fabrics with a special surface treatment (marked A105) are used. MOSAIC REINFORCEMENT For an easy manipulation and application of mosaics, self-adhesive mesh fabrics are used for support. LIGHTWEIGHT CONSTRUCTION BOARDS Construction boards reinforced on both sides by glass fibre mesh are successfully used in the building industry. They can be used on different kinds of houses partitions, bathtubs, showers, swimming pools, walls, pipe covers etc. PROFILES Profiles are an important element of external thermal insulation systems for reinforcing all window or door corners, edges and jambs. They are produced either from PVC or aluminium part of which also include glass fibre mesh fabric.

G120 General Description Glass fiber mesh fabrics with alkali-resistant surface can be used in wide range of applications. Range of G mesh fabrics represents the anti-crack solution for screeds. It combines high performance and ease of use. Vertex grids show 60% better anti-crack performance than metal grids and 50% less opened cracks compared to PP fibers. Grids are easy to handle, cut, store and apply. Type G120 was designed for use in traditional dry screeds or in screeds with bigger particle size (up to 7 mm) where the more open mesh structure is desirable. It can be used as well for facade reconstruction of old buildings with typically mixed masonry substrate or very uneven substrate. G120 is highly recommended to achieve easily flat surface and avoid standard non comfort solution of metal grids.
