3 1. Introduction Eternal collection 2011 This new Eternal collection will be launched per 1 April 2011, replacing the current General Purpose vinyl collection Eternal/Smaragd/Effect. The new Forbo Eternal general purpose vinyl collection is more than ever before a superb combination of state of the art designs in a strong, durable, fit-for-purpose range of products whatever the intended application. We have been able to create a collection with an own design signature, using the benefits of the Eternal quality and brand. The new Eternal collection is an answer to the general requirements for a wide design choice and the best appearance retention of the floor. 2. Collection The new collection contains 113 items in total, presented in 11 sub collections. All designs and colours have been carefully coordinated for commercial project vinyl installations, allowing end users to create harmonious, balanced environments for each application segment. Healthcare, retail, education, office and leisure all are familiar application areas for Eternal and the new collection offers designs that will fit each requirement. 4 2.1 Collection description The New Eternal collection introduces a wider wood range than our previous collection; 20 items including both traditional and modern woods. The quite popular Eternal stone-like range has been maintained, refreshed and also extended, by adding visuals like concrete and slate. The existing Smaragd marble and Smaragd Classic designs are maintained as fast moving items are selection from the wider old offer. Also new in the collection are textile, sand and metal designs, and finally the range is complemented by a spectacular array of modern and classic trend colours All sub collections are described below: WOOD 20 Wood items are divided into 3 categories, all rotary view printed and finished with a 0.7 transparent wear layer and a PUR Pearl embossing. 2 Rustic items will have a wood structure embossing. 4 fast-moving items from the current Eternal wood collection are continued. (3 continued items will remain having an acoustic derivative, until the acoustics-collection is replaced.) 6 SMARAGD 8 Eternal Smaragd items, continuing from the current Smaragd classic collection, while optimised in colour offer, and with rationalised microsphere mixes. A perfect soil hiding design with granules in the wear layer to enhance the 3d effect in the design. All rotary view printed and finished with a 0.7 transparent wear layer and a PUR Pearl embossing. 9 PALETTE Entirely new in the Forbo project vinyl offer. A wide and complete colour palette of 24 items in one design with a unique solid look. An additional modern visual to create even more diversity in designs for the Eternal collection. All have a coloured paste wear layer, with small particles scattered on top to create an even, but slightly lively visual. All are finished with a PUR Pearl embossing. 10 CONTRAST Completely new in the Forbo project vinyl offer. 12 coloured items, with a scattered graphic black and white element. The black and white selection creates an answer to contemporary architectural trends. A selection of the coloured items is based on the Palette colours, to allow combination in flooring designs. All have a coloured paste wear-layer, with small and larger particles scattered on top to create a lively and graphical visual. All are finished with a PUR Pearl embossing. 11 2.2 Product construction The technical specifications of the complete collection are optimised and now all the same. i.e. all products have a thickness of 2.0mm, all product have a Group T classification for wear resistance, indentation residual 0.03mm and no quality differences in lacquer, slip resistance anymore. The technical table is added to the appendices. (note: EN and ISO norms will be used together in the final table for communication) Wood, Marble, Sand, Metal, Weave, Slate, Concrete Stone Smaragd Palette, Contrast Benefits of the product construction: 1. For the majority of our designs we use our famous, proven PUR pearl lacquering protection technique. The application technique for the lacquering layer assures an even amount of lacquering both on top and in the deeper areas of the embossing.. This matt embossed lacquer layer ensures the highest level of chemical and scuff resistance. The use of a special developed soft lacquer prevents the surface from scratching, and maintains the long lasting appearance, compared to the scratch sensitive hard-lacquered products in the market. In the small number of cases where the design demands a different finish, we employ the PUR finish with a design specific surface structure. All surface structures are extremely easy in cleaning and maintenance. Eternal conforms to all standards, including the new VOC emission classes. 2. A transparent wear layer, or full coloured wear layer in case of Palette and Contrast, ensures a maximal wear resistance and maintains/protects the design of the floor. 3. A rotary view printed layer, ensures a high quality image 4. A non woven, fully impregnated, glass fleece layer functions as the backbone of the product. It ensures the dimensional stability and balance (no curl) of the product and allows a lean-development approach, resulting in a sustainable thin product. 5. Adding to stability and the high quality standard of Eternal project vinyl is the optimised calandered backing, a firm but flexible and embossed layer to allow easy installation, even in coving or wet room applications. The backing layer, which is a substantial part of the product construction, contains 40% recycled production scrap, 11

12 improving the footprint of the product. Benefits of the production process: The Eternal collection is produced using green energy and modern production technology that reduces the processes involved to a minimum. Eternal is made in Europe for largely European markets, reducing transport-related carbon emissions. Minimal waste is generated as we use all the material we produce anything not used or which doesn t meet our quality standards is reconstituted and re-used in Forbo products. 2.3 Continuing items The new Eternal collection contains a limited number of design items that are continued from the old collection. However, the Eternal product construction will change from 2.2mm to 2.0 mm thickness, therefore the continuing items will NOT BE 100% THE SAME. See the list below for details. 13 2.3.1 Acoustic offer The old Eternal collection counts 14 wood items, and with 6 of these we have included a reference to an acoustic version: The Eternal Wood Decibel items = black oak = Natural oak = Small-plank teak = Washed beech = Tropical beech = Traditional oak These acoustic items will no longer be referenced in the new General Purpose collection per April However all 6 items will stay available in the Acoustic collection book from Sarlino, until 2012 This results in the following availability: Compact item Available until Acoustic item Available until April Q April Q April Q April Q April Q April Q The specifications of the 6 Eternal Wood Decibel items will remain as they are. 3. Phase out/in: stock availability All items from the new Eternal collection will be available from Forbo Novilon BV as from 1 April The distribution system has not changed. The current collection will be serviced until 3 months after introduction date. 13

14 There are several exceptions to this; Effect is not being produced anymore, stocks are being depleted already. At the moment (wk 6) there is approx. 13 items with a stock higher than 600 sqm left available in Assendelft.
