2 Founded as a family business in 1955, Dalau has grown to become the largest polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) processor in the United Kingdom and now has subsidiaries in New Hampshire, USA and in Düsseldorf, Germany, exporting to 35 countries around the world.. Specialising in producing high quality extruded rod, moulded rod & tube, skived films & sheets and machined components, we use only the finest quality virgin PTFE. We also offer these products in a wide range of filled grades and colours. Dalau s high quality products have been specified for some of the world s most prestigious projects. They are extensively used across a diverse range of industrial sectors. 3 Plastic Components Dalau specialises in the precision machining of plastic components in all engineering plastics to the medical, electronic, and aerospace industries most stringent technical specifications. We turn PTFE, PEEK, PA, PE, ETFE, and numerous engineering plastics for prototyping, small batches, and large volume runs. All these are in addition to our world-renowned Dalcon range of PTFE, under the Dalcon trademark. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and adaptability in delivering parts, whether the requirement is for small or large quantities. Components made to drawing are produced with the whole manufacturing and inspection process being carried out in a climate controlled environment. Clean-room facilities are available for high specification component customers. Our manufacturing facilities include turning centres with capabilities from < 1 mm to 380 mm diameter, able to produce over 100 million components a year using multi axis CNC machining centres, and Swiss Sliding Head machines. These films have been developed for the exacting demands of the circuit board and semi conductor industries. We produce exceptional high quality film with high physical properties and skive mark free surface finish. 8 Dalcon DFC 025 Specifically developed for the Flange Gasket industry by blending Glass Fibre and special additives to produce a material ideally suited to the exacting demands of the Flange Gasket industry. All materials have been tested to ASTM number 10 for Gasket Constants for Bolted Joint Design. Cut Flat Sheets We offer a range of natural and filled cut flat sheets under the Dalcon name for an array of industry applications. These sheets have gone through a thermal stress relieving process to remove roll curl to produce perfectly flat gaskets or seals when cut or stamped Typical physical properties inherent are; Improved creep resistance and compressive strength Increased thermo conductivity with the introduction of carbon or coke fillers Provides a low friction, corrosion resistant surface. 9 Dalau has custom designed blending facilities, where PTFE based compounds and colours are blended in a clean climate controlled environment. All our products are offered with the confidence of the Dalcon brand name. We offer a variety of colours and fillers: Glass, Carbon, Coke, Graphite, Anti-Static, Bronze, MoS 2 and special blends to customer specifications. Talk to us about your specific requirements! We retain complete control of the manufacturing process, whilst converting PTFE compounds into semi-finished stock. 10 Our commitment to quality is paramount. As a result we ve invested heavily in effective quality management and monitoring processes that can be relied upon for high quality products. At the heart of our quality regime is our proprietary Statistical Process Control (SPC) system. Every part of our production process is recorded on SPC allowing complex computer models to monitor and maintain high production standards, which ensures a constant high quality across every finished product. Samples are analysed at all stages of production and the results are kept on computer record for a period of seven years. This ensures full traceability on every Extruded, Moulded or Skived product or Machined Component - from raw material to the finished article. This quality system was first approved by the Aeronautical Inspectorate Directorate (AID) in Today, Dalau operates a TQM Total Quality Management system that forms the basis of day-to-day production processes. We meet the exacting standards of: BS EN ISO 9001: 2000 (Certificate No. Q5588) Rolls-Royce plc. CQC-103 (Certificate No ) UL (Underwriters Laboratories) certification. Dalcon 001 E EN compliant Control and support facilities Specific facilities include in-house blending technology and the introduction of a clean climate controlled production facility. A clean room system particularly for use in high specifications applications (aerospace and pharmaceutical etc) is available. Precision product testing and control As well as standard batch testing for quality, including tensile, stress and compression testing we also subject all semi-finished products to our unique Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) testing. This thermal fingerprinting provides important information about the material s thermal behaviour and checks that the material has been fully sintered. Through its exact calibration DSC enables the recording of melting temperatures and molecular weight. Complex temperature programs for all product samples provide effective data to quality control, minimising operational inconsistencies. The result, higher integrity products for our customers.
