Delivering industry leading practices in safety, quality and service while providing continual investment for successful outcomes well into the future. Bitu-mill micro stabilisation Bitu-mill s micro stabilisation combines innovation through modern technology and systems with tested techniques to ensure local & regional roads stand up to the constant stress from all levels of traffic, whilst providing communities all-weather access. Rather than traditional methods involving major disruption through road closures, micro stabilisation is designed around the latest technology using smaller plant (skid steer 1mtr mixers) and specialised equipment to provide quick set-up and completion options for time critical repairs. Micro stabilisation involves utilising existing materials mixed with innovative products to create a smooth, sustainable, cost effective and above all, safe road service. Bitu-mill s unique service helps improve the structural integrity, density, strength and bearing capacity, as well as reducing water permeability to alleviate mid pavement failures on regional and rural roads.

4 5 Fast. Effective. Environmentally sustainable. Bitu-mill is committed to delivering high quality pavement construction, rehabilitation and maintenance services that are fast, effective and environmentally sustainable. Our services are based on our road stabilisation expertise, technology and systems that ensure the highest standards of quality, occupational health, safety and environmental management. Tailored to client needs, environmental conditions and varying roads, Bitu-mill uses a broad range of binders including lime, cement and Dry Powdered Polymer (DPP) to increase soil strength and compaction. Dry Powdered Polymers (DPP) are used extensively throughout Australia as an alternative to the traditional cement and lime in road stabilisation. The process involves an internal waterproofing of the fine-grained particles. This can result in a base course that preserves its dry strength in wet conditions and can act as a barrier to water ingress into susceptible subgrades.

Micro Stabilisation teams only require two trucks. One combination consists of a water truck with the ability to store multiple binders and the many attachments we use. The other is a sealing truck that combines emulsion and sealing aggregate. Each truck has the capacity to transport our skid steers and roller. Steps to success Traffic management which is designed to ensure staff and public safety, while allowing a constant flow of traffic through our worksite. Using our specialised skid steer mixers, we stabilise the existing materials with the designed binder blend to a depth of up to 250mm. We add water to gain optimum moisture content before remixing the patch to ensure an even blending of all products We then grade, shape and compact the area using our specially designed grader attachments. During this process, we individually proof roll each patch to ensure pavement stability. After the final proof roll we seal the patches with a two-coat emulsion / aggregate seal. Once the final seal has been rolled, we sweep all excess materials, install aftercare and open to the public.

6 7 Bitu-mill micro stabilisation crews operate from Melbourne and Echuca with dedicated teams focusing on providing industry leading service to local government and road authorities in regional Victoria and southern NSW. Key benefits to micro stabilisation Speed Faster rehabilitation process compared to traditional excavation. Recycling In-situ stabilisation eliminates the need to remove and replace existing pavement materials. Innovation Enhanced strength of road materials through adding innovative binder options. Improvement Improvement in shape of the road surface within a quick and effective timeframe. Cost Effectiveness Minimal movement of materials on or off site, reducing emissions and pavement stress while providing cost savings of up to 50% compared to asphalt dig outs. Sustainability Providing cost effective alternatives with nimbly / but sustainable operations to assists municipalities the ability to stretch their stabilisation budget further. Focus Ability to undertake a full day s work without returning to base.

St Therese Hospital Solar Project Charity Initiatives The Bitu-mill Group also has a social conscience and as such is involved in many charity initiatives across Australia and abroad. The most prominent being in support of The Edmund Rice Foundation assisting to raise funds for the Ruben Medical Clinic and Education Centre located within the Mukuru Slum in Nairobi Kenya. To aid in this fund raising Bitu-mill run an annual charity golf event from which all funds go direct to the project without administration fees. The funds get to where they are needed to cover part of the recurring costs in supplying vaccinations & preventive medicines, health care, HIV & Aids treatment & prevention programs as well as providing basic education opportunities for the many disadvantaged children within the slum. Every dollar goes towards saving a life, prevention of illness and education to empower the people of Ruben to break the downward spiral. At the 11th annual event, we successfully raised $33,477. To date, we have raised in excess of $629,000 and we will continue to support this worthy cause. In 2015, Bitu-mill was invited to be a major supporter in the design, funding and development of a Solar power plant for St Therese Hospital in Nzara, South Sudan, which until this time had no power to perform general procedures or surgery. After many challenges notwithstanding the logistical nightmare of transporting from Kampala in Uganda through to Southern Sudan alongside aid from a United Nations military convoy. The plant finally arrived in March 2016 and was commissioned soon after. This new technology allowed St Therese Hospital the ability to perform under general medical conditions as well as provide much needed surgery for the local community.
