1 CATALOGUE of the 58 th ANNUAL SALE of HAY, STRAW and SILAGE comprising About 1,000 tonnes in quantities lotted to suit varying requirements which will be offered for sale by Auction on TUESDAY 15th JANUARY 2019 at 2.30 p.m. in LOYD LINDSAY ROOMS ARDINGTON, NR WANTAGE, OX12 8PS

2 CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. BIDDING The highest bidder to be the purchaser and no bidding shall be retracted after the hammer has fallen. The Auctioneers reserve the right to refuse any bidding and in the event of any dispute, the lot may be put up again at the Auctioneers discretion, or the Auctioneers may declare the bidder. 2. RESERVES All lots are put up for sale subject to any reserve price imposed by the Vendor, and to the right of the Vendor to bid either personally or by any other person, who may be the Auctioneer. 3. DESCRIPTION The description of the various lots is believed to be correct. For the guidance of purchasers, the approximate number of bales in each lot is given in the catalogue, unless an exact number is stated, but it must be emphasised that this information is given for guidance only. No warranty as to weight, quality or condition can be given, and an intending purchaser must, without exception, inspect any lot in which he is interested and raise any queries with the Auctioneers before the lot is sold. 4. PAYMENT All lots are sold for cash and must be paid for in the Sale Room at the termination of the sale. Prospective buyers from away are requested to bring a Banker's Draft or to pay by cash. No cash payments in excess of 9,000 will be accepted, and proof of identity is required for all cash payments in excess of 4,000. If paying by cheque, NO LOT CAN BE MOVED UNTIL THAT CHEQUE HAS BEEN CLEARED. 5. METHOD OF SALE All lots will be sold at "per stack or per lot". Prospective purchasers must make their own assessment of the tonnage. 6. REMOVAL All lots must be removed BEFORE 25 th MARCH 2019 unless an earlier date is stated at the time of sale and if not so removed, the purchaser shall pay the Vendor a penalty of 1 per tonne per week for each week or part week until final clearance. The purchaser shall indemnify the Vendor for any damage that may be caused to gates fences etc. in the course of the removal of any lot. 7. ORDER OF SALE The Auctioneers intend to sell in the order lotted and as described in the catalogue, but must reserve the right to make any alterations, if so requested by a Vendor. 8. LIABILITY OF PURCHASER Neither the Auctioneers nor the Vendors will be responsible for any lots damaged by fire, accident, or otherwise and all lots are the purchaser's responsibility from the fall of the hammer. 9 FORFEIT OF DEPOSIT Upon failure of complying with the above conditions money deposited in part payment will be forfeited and the lots which may remain uncleared after the time aforesaid will be sold by public or private sale, without notice to the former purchaser and the deficiency (if any) by such demand sale, together with all charges attending the same, shall be made good by defaulter at this sale. 10. SALE AFTER AUCTION In the event of non-sale in the Sale Room, any further negotiation must be made through the Auctioneers as Agents of the Vendor. These conditions of sale will apply, subject to any arrangement to the contrary. 11. TRANSFER OF LOTS In all cases of transfer of lots, the original purchaser will be held responsible for complying with all conditions. 12. GENERAL NOTES The Auctioneers will be pleased to supply additional information on any particular lots, as far as they are able, as to the tonnage, quality and position and arrangements necessary for its removal. The Auctioneers will also be pleased to carry out any written commissions from those not able to attend the Sale, and will purchase lots as cheaply as allowed by other bidders. 13. INSURANCE Buyers are reminded that each lot is their responsibility from the fall of the hammer and that insurance cover should be taken at once. After approx. 1 mile take the second driveway on the left and proceed to farm buildings. The hay is in the large barn on right and the Dutch barn alongside track. (Map Reference: SU ). After 300 yards turn right into Bradley Farm. Proceed past the farmhouse, bear left and the straw will be found in the second Dutch barn on the left. (Map Ref: SP ). OX12 0DP At College Farm Lot 12 Take the A417 from Wantage towards Faringdon, pass through East Challow and take the first turning right signposted Denchworth. Proceed over the railway bridge and through Denchworth village. College Farm will be found on the left hand side at the north end of the village. The hay will be found in the Dutch barn at the rear of the farm yard. (Map SU ). Follow this road towards Childrey and turn right on the left hand bend. New Parsonage Farm is the first buildings on the left. The hay is in the barns on the right and at the rear. (Map Ref: SU ). 3

The hay is in far bay of the cattle shed. Take 50 Claas 2100 bales of 2018 Meadow hay. Follow tarmac road down to farmyard and bear right. The straw will be found in the left hand bay of the Dutch barn at the far side of farmyard and the hay will be found in the lean-to on the back of it. 5 C E ALLEN & SON UPTOWN FARM, SUTTON COURTENAY, ABINGDON, OX14 4AX At Uptown Farm From the A34 Milton Interchange take the turning for Milton Park, after passing over the railway bridge turn left into Milton High Street, follow road to north end of village and turn right to Sutton Courtenay. After passing the petrol station and the village stores the farm is on the left hand side of the High Street. Proceed through farmyard bearing left to the Dutch Barn next to the grain store. At the T-Junction in Sutton Courtenay turn left onto the B4016 to Appleford. Go over the railway bridge and turn left at the village green. Manor Farm is situated on the left hand side at the bottom of Church Street. The straw is in the silage barn at the far end of the farmyard. (Map Ref: SU ). In the Silage barn Take 225 Claas Quadrant 3200 bales of 2018 Wheat straw (3 lots x 75 bales). Continue along Westfield Road, and on into Cholsey. Cross the double mini roundabouts, at the third mini roundabout bear left onto Church Road. Continue along this road going over the bridge and Manor Farm is on your left after the gym. The first 3 lots of big bale straw and first 2 lots of conventional bales are in barns on right of track. For the remainder follow track over railway bridge. 6 DELAFIELD BROTHERS PARSONAGE FARM, MARSH BALDON, OXFORD, OX44 9LJ At Manor Farm, Toot Baldon, OX44 9DG Lot 35 From the Oxford to Henley road (A4074) turn left at the south end of Nuneham Courtenay, follow the road through Marsh Baldon and continue on to Toot Baldon. Turn left opposite The Mole public house and almost immediately left pass between the houses and the straw will be found in the building on the left hand side. Take 150 Claas Quadrant 3200 bales of 2018 Wheat straw Assistance to load Tel: MS S SUTTON 101 BRADENHAM ROAD, WEST WYCOMBE, HP14 4EZ At Land near Wootton Underwood, Aylesbury, HP18 0RZ From Headington take to road through Horton-cum-Studley and Boarstall, then follow road towards Ashendon for about 4 miles. Turn left down No Through Road towards HP18 0RZ and after about 300 yards the entrance is on the left, on the bend. Proceed along hard track to building. (Note: Gate is padlocked. Just under a mile after the Wantage turn the farm is on the right of the road. Take the furthest entrance and proceed down a gated track to buildings at side of field. The straw is in the cattle yard and the hay is in the monopitch barn behind. (Note: Gate is padlocked. 7 MR A FRANKLIN APPLE PIE FARM, ALDWORTH ROAD, COMPTON, NEWBURY, RG20 6RD At New Farm, Coombe Road, Compton, Newbury, RG20 6RQ From the A34 take the East Ilsley exit and proceed through the village to Compton. On entering Compton take the second turning on the right and proceed past Downs School. After passing the School take the second turning on the left, bear left and the farm is on the right just over the bridge. The straw is in the first building on the left. Additional bales to make up the numbers are at Apple Pie Farm. Lot 42 Take 50 Claas Quadrant 3200 bales 2018 Spring Barley Straw Assistance to load Tel: or G K BENFORD & CO DOWN FARM, ALTON ROAD, ODIHAM, HOOK, RG29 1QX At Down Farm From Odiham take the B3349 towards Alton. Down Farm is on the left after about a mile. Turn left at the finger post signed Down Farm and proceed down the drive past the house to the farm buildings. Turn right signed Deliveries and continue to a pole barn on the right. A trailer with a few sample bales of the hay is in the adjacent paddock to the right. The hay bales are within the perimeter of RAF Odiham, and photo ID is required for access.
