This new set up enables us to deliver complete sets of towers THIS IS x-tower New ways to optimize your tower Thank you for your interest in our new and updated X-Tower Thanks to the modular system of the X-Tower we can optimize it to fit your exact needs. Our tower-sections come in 4 m lengths with a large variety of frame leg dimensions. This feature gives us a unique advantage in optimizing our tower without increasing the actual footprint. We don t preassemble the tower sections upon delivery, since we feel it s important to have an efficient transport solution. In 2013 we entered into cooperation with Elektroskandia in China in order to produce our X-tower system in China. This means that we now can offer a system with the same quality requirements as we previously produced in Europe. We will meet the new EN 1090 standard as well which is a requirement to be able to deliver towers within the European Union from July This new set up enables us to deliver complete sets of towers with fall protection systems, obstruction lights, ladders etc. All packed, inspected and shipped by Elektroskandia in Shanghai. The X-Tower advantages We can of course also offer a large number of brackets depending on your specific needs, these might be delivered either from China or from Sweden depending on the availability of a specific type off bracket in China. 4 02 Areas of use Low weight yet strong and durable When it comes to installation this can either be done manually with a gin pole or with a crane. The CUE DEE X-Tower is a four sided self-supporting telecom tower available in heights from meter suitable for greenfield sites We developed the X-Tower some years ago to meet our customer s needs. The basis for the project was to develop a tower that did not only meet today s demands but would be able to grow and meet the demands of the future, you might want to call it future proof. Typical X-Tower installation. LIGHT YET STRONG AND DURABLE Tower overloading is becoming more of an issue nowadays since operators want to add more equipment to existing and new sites as technology evolves. To cope with this we decided to develop a light yet strong and durable tower system. The sections are made from solid rod steel frame legs and the braces are all channel steel. We only use high grade steel to keep the tower weight at a minimum. We also chose to add another smart feature to our tower in order to reduce weight; the tower frame legs are available in a number of different dimensions DESIGN POSSIBILITIES Because we can offer the X-Tower with different frame leg dimensions it s possible to optimize each tower depending on height, wind load, structural movement etc. Depending on tower section we can offer 3 different frame leg dimensions depending on required tower strength, you could call them light, medium and heavy duty. As an example the widest X-Tower section, the X-13 is available with Ø65, Ø70 and Ø75 mm frame legs. The X-Tower will probably be used as a greenfield tower in most cases but some of our customers have come to use it as a wind turbine tower as well. INSTALLATION When it comes to installation this can either be done manually with a gin pole or if you prefer with a crane. Both ways has its advantages, for instance the site might not be accessible with a crane then you have to rely on manual installation to get the job done. 6 7

Optimized towers to cover all needs. Optimizing the X-Tower When we optimize the X-Tower we first need to know where it s going to be installed and how our customer intends to use it i.e. how much antennas will be mounted on it. We need to know this in order to accurately calculate wind loads and terrain types. For instance if a tower is located in an open field it is likely to suffer higher wind speeds then a tower located in a forest. Placing a tower on a hill also increase the wind load. All of these factors must be taken into account when doing the structural calculation for the tower. Different design possibilities When the calculations are done we end up with a basic tower configuration. But because we can offer the X-Tower with different frame leg dimensions it s possible to optimize each tower depending on height, wind load, structural movement etc. Depending on tower section we can offer 3 different frame leg dimensions depending on required tower strength, you could call them light, medium and heavy duty. As an example the widest X-Tower section, the X-13 is available with Ø65, Ø70 and Ø75 mm frame legs. In some cases this feature gives us the possibility to increase the frame leg diameter and at the same time decrease the footprint. This can be very useful in urban areas where site space is hard to come by. 8 9

6 04 Quality & design High quality materials are used Both frame legs and bracing are made from high quality S355 steel. Clever quality design for worldwide logistics and easy installation Unlike many of our competitors we only use solid rod frame legs in our towers. X-Tower cooperation As we mentioned in the introduction we have started up a cooperation with Elektroskandia in China. The tower production in China will meet the same high standards that we have in Europe, we will also meet the new SS-EN 1090 standard. Elektroskandia will not only produce the towers but will also market the tower system on the Asian market. We believe Elektroskandias strong presence in the region will be beneficial for our customers in terms of support and logistics etc. In addition to the tower itself we will also offer a complete range of accessories that can be site packed by Elektroskandia together with the tower. Examples of these accessories are fall arrest systems, ladders, grounding kits, clamps and brackets, climbing barriers, obstruction lights and much more. Solid rod frame legs Unlike many of our competitors we only use solid rod frame legs in our towers and we do this for a number of reasons. One of the main reasons is to avoid corrosion on the inside of the frame leg. It is very hard to spot a corrosion problem on the inside of a frame leg and in the worst case scenario this can cause a structural collapse if left unchecked for too long. Fall arrest systems and ladders are two accessories available to the X-Tower. Braces made from channel steel We had the same focus when we designed the bracing for the X- Tower. We did not want to risk corrosion where it could not be spotted in time so we made our bracing from channel steel. Both frame legs and bracing are made from high quality S355 steel. The X-Tower is made of high quality galvanized steel. Standards followed As with all our products quality is of the utmost importance for us so naturally we follow all existing standards. The tower design standards we follow are TIA 222-G, Eurocode 3, part 1-1, part 8 and part 3-1 DIN V Of course in some countries there are specific standards which are not covered by TIA or Eurocode. In those cases we use the national standards such as the SNIP standard in Russia and Kazakhstan

The X-13 section is the widest and strongest section on the X-Tower The X-13 section is the widest and strongest section currently available to the X-Tower. All sections are tapered and 4 m in length except for the straight X-1 and X-2 sections. All sections use solid rod tower legs (Ø40- Ø75 mm) which gives a very low wind load compared to tubular or angular towers. Thanks to the low wind load the X-towers can have smaller foundations and smaller footprints. Tower heights and weight For instance a 40 m X-Tower can carry 10 m² antennas and have a basic wind speed of 40 m/s (TIA 222-G). The deflection of this tower would still be less then 0.5 degree at operational wind speed. Total weight of a 40 m tower as described above is roughly 5000 kg, in comparison with other tower brands this is a very light tower with a small footprint. Depending on the desired width of the tower either the 0.75 m wide X1 or the 1.05 m wide X2 can be used as the straight top section. The straight X-1 and X-2 sections are available in both 2 and 4 m lengths. The X-13 section is the largest section on the X-Tower with a width of 4.35 m. Of course having a light tower is also good when it comes to logistics! An example of a tailor made antenna carrier solution for the X-Tower.
