The cruciform building has four wings, the roofs of which werethermallyinsulatedwithfoamglas sincethebeginning.theberlaymonthadtobeclosedforseveralyearsdueto extensiverenovationworks;aspartoftheworkstheroofsbecamethermallyupgraded,usingagainfoamglas insulation.in2004,themodernizedbuildingwasreopened.

Construction UndergroundHVACservicesystem TheCapitolVisitorCenter(CVC)features3floorsandislocatedundergroundbeneaththeeastplazaoftheCapitoltopreserveitsoriginalappearanceandthetree-linedgroundsoriginallydesignedbyF.L.Olmsteadin1874.TheCVCprovidesa welcomingandeducationalenvironmentandcanaccomodate about4,000peopleatonetime.steelpiping runningintunnelsfromthecapitolpowerplanttothecvc carriessteam andchilledwatertoprovideheatingandcoolingforthenew facility.thedesignersspecifiedfoamglas insulationforthe chilledwaterandthesteamlines.foamglas wasinstalledin sections,jointsbuttedtogetherandcoveredwithjacketing. Theinsulationwasalsousedforfittings,elbowsandsleeves forthrough-wallfirestops.foamglas ensuresprotection againstcorrosiononpipes,equipmentandotherfailures.

The materials used include light-colored wood, glass and stone that reflect the roots and traditions of Sweden. FOAMGLAS thermalinsulationwasusedforallterraces.

Chechulin & P.P. Shteller and built from 1965 to This 119meterskyscraperissituatedonthebanksoftheMoskva River.Thebuildingwasinvolvedinthe1993constitutionalcrisis andasaresult,theupperfloorsbecamedamagedbyheavy artillery.thegovernmentofmoscowdecidedtorefurbishthe flatroofofthisbuildingwithcellularglassinsulation. FOAMGLAS CompactRoofisafuture-proofsolution.Theinsulationblocksarefullybondedtothestructuraldeckusinghot bitumen.atwo-plybitumenwaterproofingandpavingslabsare thenappliedontop.thisroofingsolutionprotectsthebuilding s structureinthelong-termandisavaluablecontributiontothermalefficiencyandoverallcost-efficiency.

Thetwopartsofthebuilding:atrapezoidalmainbuildingand aprotrudinghalfrotundaarelinkedbyaglazed,15meterhighatrium,whichopensuptotheindividualfloorsofthetwo wings.theexplicitaimofthisdesignwastoachieveasynthesisofmodernandislamicarchitectureandculture. Theembassybuildingfulfillshightechnicalandenergyefficiency requirements.foamglas thermalinsulationisusedforroofs and below grade slab and walls. Between the building and street,thearchitectshavedesignedapoolofwater,running alongthebuilding.thewaterexpansereflectsinthestainless steelelementsofthefaçadewithfiligreeopenworkornaments.

Thedesignofthefaçadeissubdivided:thebaseiscovered with black granite from Zimbabwe, the upper floors have partlyaglassfaçadeandpartlya"goldendawn"sandstone claddingfromthelimpopoprovince.thesandstonesurfaces aredividedbysalient,horizontalaluminumstrips,whichalso serveasshading.
