Quarry in Victoria - 6 years on and still going strong Meet our people 3 Technical information 4 Exhibitors were treated to some of the dampest conditions experienced in years at the 009 Civinex Expo. But the weather did not stop the four thousand plus attendance to Eastern Creek, with well over a hundred exhibitors displayed their products. Soilbond received an over whelming response to it's stand, and with interest from a variety of different companies and Government bodies. Many people were interested in the Green aspect of Soilbond, with controlling dust and stabilizing material. During the three day event, Soilbond's request to send further information tripled compared with previous years. This demonstrates the change in finding new products that have minimal effect to the environment. The majority of inquires came from different areas of Government departments. Local councils, parks and gardens to name a few. Business Development Manager Steve Piesley said Companies are all expressing issues faced with pressures in using Green products for their projects. Soilbond has a product to meet these demands Soilbond found to be flood tolerant in QLD. Full story in next issue: Heath from Eureka Landscapes in Qld, couldn t believe his luck when he returned to a site he had recently completed. Soilbond appreciates the response received at Civinex and the company looks forward to future your business. Faced with the grim possibilities of losing all the work he had provided to his customer, was pleasantly surprised to see the heavy work still in tack. When speaking to Heath he told Soilbond He was very surprised to see the stabilised material still there, considering the amount of water had been through the area. Proving that Soilbond has the ability to overcome a natural deluge of water and remain in place. Customer profile. 5 Soilbond Contacts. In the next issue. 6

2 Page A WESTERN AUSTRALIAN PRIVATE GARDEN The owners of a private garden in Western Australia used Soilbond to help in the stabilise the materials used in constructing the garden. The owner heard about Soilbond from a referral and from initial inquiries purchased Soilbond for the project. Soilbond was used to stabilise Summerstone fines, I am sure you will agree the end product has the WOW factor to it. SOILBOND AND VIC ROADS Soilbond has been requested to manage an up and coming stabilising project for Vic Roads Western office. Roads works carried out earlier in 008 required granitic sand medium strip to be used as a natural looking finish to the site appearance. However the material used was compacted but not stabilised to any degree. The Soilbond product was referred to Vic Roads for its stabilisation properties to overcome the erosion with material currently in place. Working along Steve Piesley, Soilbond s business development manager is Tony Menzel from Melbourne Civil. Tony and Steve are liaising with Graduate Engineer Jackie La and Engineer Wayne Perret from the Western Project Office This project is in the discussion stage and with works submission being presented at the moment, "., said Steve, and continued This will be a test case of sorts for future business between Vic Roads, Soilbond and Melbourne Civil. Updates with the progress of this project will be featured in future newsletters and our web site.. VICTORIAN QUARRY TURNING POINT SOILBOND 6 YEARS LATER Mawson s Lake Cooper is one of Victoria s well known quarry sites. Mawson's contacted Chester Bodycoat from Soilbond to suggest a fix to a problem they had at the Lake Cooper site. An issue with a section of the haul road had become unstable and causing the trucks to bounce over the ruts and corrugations. After visiting the site, Chester s recommendations were submitted and a section of the road way boxed out to a depth of 100mm and Soilbond was mixed in with the quarries own product through the quarries plant. At a recent Quarry Institute dinner, soilbond caught up with Adrian Bull the Quarry Manager for Lake Cooper and he said after six years of traffic, minimal maintenance, the road is holding up well. This is testament to Soilbond s longevity, also using a quality base material for heavy vehicle traffic. A full report will be available on our web site shortly.
