THE OWNER SHALL ENGAGE THE SERVICES OF AN AGENCY APPROVED BY THE NYC DEPARTMENT OF BUILDINGS TO PERFORM ALL REQUIRED SPECIAL INSPECTIONS (BC 1704) AND PROGRESS INSPECTIONS (BC 110). THE FOLLOWING ITEMS REQUIRE SPECIAL INSPECTION (CODE REFERENCES ARE TO THE DECEMBER 31, 2014 CODE): MECHANICAL SYSTEMS BC FIRESTOP, DRAFTSTOP AND FIREBLOCK SYSTEMS BC ENERGY CODE COMPLIANCE INSPECTIONS BC FINAL AND BC AND DIRECTIVE 14 OF 1975 THE FOLLOWING ITEMS REQUIRE PROGRESS INSPECTIONS: ENERGY CODE COMPLIANCE BC FINAL INSPECTION AND BC UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK, A TEST SHALL BE CONDUCTED IN THE PRESENCE AND UNDER DIRECTION OF A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER OR REGISTERED ARCHITECT, RETAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR QUALIFIED TO CONDUCT SUCH TESTS. THE TEST SHALL SHOW COMPLIANCE WITH THE CODE REQUIREMENTS FOR VENTILATION AND THE PROPER FUNCTIONING OF ALL OPERATING DEVICES, BEFORE THE SYSTEM IS APPROVED (BC 1704). 3. ALL INSPECTIONS AND TESTS WILL BE MADE IN COMPLIANCE WITH BC CERTIFICATES OF COMPLIANCE (BC AND ) SHALL BE OBTAINED AND PAID FOR BY THE CONTRACTOR. 5. ALL HVAC SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ENERGY CONSERVATION CONSTRUCTION CODE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK (MC 301.2). 6. THE FOLLOWING WORK ITEMS, COMPONENTS, MATERIALS, CAPACITIES, ETC. SHALL COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING CODE REFERENCES: WORK ITEM/MATERIALS CODE SECTION A. ELECTRIC WIRING & EQUIPMENT -MC B. FIELD TEST PROCEDURES FOR MECHANICAL LIQUID CHILLING UNITS MC EQUIPMENT SHALL BE LISTED AND APPROVED AS REQUIRED - MC 107, MC ALL BUILDING DEPARTMENT FORMS REQUIRED, INCLUDING THOSE REQUIRED FOR SPECIAL INSPECTIONS, PROGRESS INSPECTIONS, CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE, SERVICE EQUIPMENT PERMIT OR OTHER REASONS WITH REGARD TO THIS PROJECT SHALL BE COMPLETED AND FILED WITH THE NYC BUILDING DEPARTMENT BY THE OWNER. THE OWNER SHALL ENGAGE THE SERVICES OF A NYS LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER AND AGENCIES APPROVED FOR SPECIAL INSPECTIONS TO SIGN AND SEAL ALL REQUIRED BUILDING DEPARTMENT FORMS AND DRAWINGS. 1. DEMOLITION OF HVAC ITEMS SHALL BE PERFORMED BY AN HVAC CONTRACTOR. 2. LOCATION OF THE EXISTING PIPING AS SHOWN ON DRAWINGS IS APPROXIMATE. 3. PROVIDE TEMPORARY SUPPORTS WHERE REQUIRED 4. DURING DEMOLITION, PROPERLY CAP AND PROTECT ALL EQUIPMENT, AND PIPING THAT WILL REMAIN IN OPERATION. 5. WHERE EXISTING INSULATION TO REMAIN IS DAMAGED BY THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE WORK, REPLACE ANY DAMAGED INSULATION TO MATCH EXISTING. 6. DEMOLITION WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED BY WORKMEN EXPERIENCED IN THIS TYPE OF WORK AND SHALL BE CARRIED THROUGH TO COMPLETION WITH DUE REGARD TO THE SAFETY OF ALL BUILDING OCCUPANTS AND THE EMPLOYEES OF THE CONTRACTOR, WITH AS LITTLE DISTURBANCE AS POSSIBLE. 7. DEMOLISH ALL EQUIPMENT AS INDICATED, FIXTURES AND/OR MISCELLANEOUS ARTICLES IN THEIR ENTIRETY INCLUDING AUXILIARY EQUIPMENT, PIPING, WIRING, AND CONDUIT. 8. MATERIALS RESULTING FROM THE DEMOLITION OPERATIONS SHALL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ACCUMULATE ON THE FLOORS AND ROOF SURFACES, EXTERIOR GRADE SURFACES OR OTHER PARTS OF THE PREMISES, AND SHALL BE PROMPTLY REMOVED AND DISPOSED OF AWAY FROM THE PREMISES. 9. INCLUDE ALL DEMOLITION OF SYSTEMS AND COMPONENTS WHERE SYSTEMS SHALL BE REPLACED BY NEW WORK. REFER TO THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE SCOPE OF NEW AND RECONNECTED WORK. THE INTENT OF THIS REQUIREMENT IS TO HAVE THE CONTRACTOR DISCONNECT, DEMOLISH AND REMOVE ALL EXPOSED AND CONCEALED WORK WHERE BEING REPLACED OR CONNECTED TO THE NEW LAYOUTS. 10. COORDINATE ELECTRICAL POWER DISCONNECTION PRIOR TO DEMOLITION. POWER DISCONNECTION SHALL BE PROVIDED BY A ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR. 11. PROTECT ALL EXISTING HVAC WORK AND EXISTING WORK OF OTHER TRADES WHICH IS TO REMAIN, FROM DAMAGE DURING DEMOLITION. 12. ALL PIPING TO REMAIN SHALL HAVE ENDS TERMINATED IN A NEAT MANNER READY FOR CONNECTION OF NEW WORK. ALL EXPOSED ENDS OF PIPING SHALL BE CAPPED. SCREWED PIPING SHALL END ON A SCREWED JOINT. FLANGED PIPE SHALL END WITH A FLANGED JOINT. WELDED PIPING SHALL BE MECHANICALLY CUT, CLEANED OF BURRS AND A CAP TACK WELDED TO THE PIPE. 13. REMOVAL OF EQUIPMENT AND PIPING SHALL INCLUDE ALL HANGERS & SUPPORT ASSOCIATED WITH THE EQUIPMENT AND PIPING TO BE REMOVED. 9. CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN AND PROVIDE SERVICE EQUIPMENT PERMITS IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION OF THE BUILDING CODE. 13 PLUMBING FIXTURE CONNECTION SCHEDULE 1. ALL PLUMBING FIXTURES TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE TURNED OVER TO THE OWNER. THEY SHALL NOT BE REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES OR DISPOSED OF WITHOUT THE OWNER'S APPROVAL. 2. ALL PIPING TO BE REMOVED SHALL BE PROPERLY PLUGGED OR CAPPED SO THAT UPON COMPLETION OF ALL NEW WORK, ALL ABANDONED PIPING SHALL BE CONCEALED IN FINISHED AREAS. 3. NO DEAD ENDS SHALL BE LEFT ON ANY PIPING UPON COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. 4.
