If the 72 hour overcoating window is exceeded the stain should be lightly sanded and restained prior to application of subsequent coats. Minimum times must be adhered to in order to allow solvent to fully escape from the surface. CERTIFICATIONS Consult Speccoats Technical Representative fordetails SYSTEMS AND COMPATIBILITY Consult Speccoats Technical Representative for coating system solutions. SURFACE PREPARATION All surfaces to be coated must be dry, clean and free from contamination. Remove all traces of finishes and/or glue which has been wiped into the grain as the stain will not be absorbed in these areas and unevenness will result. Prior to application loose fibre must be removed and the surface sanded to a smooth finish working in the direction of thegrain. All sharp edges must be rounded off, ensure substrate is then free of dust by blowing with compressed air or making use of clean tack rags before application of coating. Typically sand paper finer the 320 grit is suitable. If grit is too course, sanding scratches and marks will be visible in the final coat. However, every application is different and the service and support of Speccoats Technical department is available at all times. Page 2 of 5
