1 FINANCIAL SERVICES GROUP Supply Management INVITATION TO TENDER ITT / PS ISSUED ON OCTOBER 13, 2016 Schedule A - Item 3.01 references MMCD Section Measurement and Payment Clause Clause mentions that payment for concrete lock block wall will be Q1 by the blocks of different sizes and dimensions where was the pay unit in Schedule A is sq.m. If the measurement for payment is by the area, please provide details on how the area of the Lock Block Wall will be measured. A1 Q2 A2 Q3 A3 Payment for area of retaining wall will be measured by the facing area of the wall. The price will include the wall as well as any granular base pads or perforated drainage pipes behind the wall. Schedule A Item 5.01 references MMCD Section Clause whereas the Supplementary Specifications provided with the tender has Section SS and Items and of this section mentions addition of Clause specific to Curb Removal and payment details for curb and gutter removal. Please advise which the correct reference is. Payment for curb removal will be by linear metre as defined in SS items and Schedule A Item 5.03 references MMCD Section Clause whereas the Supplementary Specifications provided with the tender has Section SS and Item of this section mentions payment details for removal of existing pavement structure. Please advise which the correct reference is. Payment for pavement removal will be by the square metre as detailed in Section SS Item Q4 A4 Q5 Schedule A Item Please advise on the thicknesses of the Asphalt and Concrete to be saw cut. Please refer to the core sample logs in the geotechnical reports for the project for any information available for the existing pavement structure. The project team cannot confirm that these thicknesses will necessarily be representative of the entire project. Schedule A Item 9.01 states Relocate Trees to Onsite Pond Facility. Preload Drawing Nos. C9004 & C9005 denotes X with Remove Ex. Trees note. Are these the same trees to be removed and relocated under this item? Also, please advise on the exact area at Onsite Pond Facility where these trees will be relocated. 2 A5 Q6 A6 The tree relocations will be performed by the city landscaper. Any remaining trees are to be removed by the contractor to the compost site for shredding on a cost per tree basis. Schedule A Item references MMCD Section Clause whereas the Supplementary Specifications provided with the tender has Section SS and Items and of this section mentions addition of Clause and payment details for relocating fire hydrant. Please advise which the correct reference is. The hydrant relocation has been removed from the contract. Q7 Schedule A Item 12 under Storm Sewers. Should it be labelled Item 11.01? A7 Yes. This will be changed in the revised Schedule A as per Amendment 1. Q8 A8 Q9 A9 Q10 A10 Schedule A - Item 13 Pipe Culvert. Should it be labelled Item 12 with individual pay items labelled Item and instead of and as there again is Item 13 in Schedule A for Manholes and Catchbasins? Each item is correct. The storm pipe culvert in item 13.1 is the north-south pipe through preload area D near station The PVC storm sewer in section 11 that is currently label but will be relabeled is the pipe in the storm system that connects the new swale south of preload area E to the existing storm system west of area E through a pipe under the west of area E. The pipe culvert will follow the specifications of MMCD and the storm sewer will follow the specifications of MMCD as noted on Schedule A. Schedule A Item 5.05 under List of Unit Prices for Any Additional Work references Clause Supplementary Specifications Section SS Item to Item mention addition of Clause and payment details for Sub-excavation and replacement of in-situ landfill materials that is mentioned in Schedule A Item 5.05 Description. Please advise which the correct reference is. Payment for any sub-excavation required as identified by the Consultant will be by cubic metre and include all work described in Section SS Items to Supplementary Specifications Section SS Item mentions Payment for On-Site Disposal shall be included in the price for removal and excavation in question. We understand from the September 28, 2016 Information Meeting that City of Vancouver will not charge any disposal/tipping fees for On-site disposal of all the excavated soils and other removal materials that will be generated under this contract. Please confirm. It is confirmed that materials removed can be disposed of on site with no disposal/tipping fees applied. Page 2 of 5

Please advise. The item list in Schedule A has been updated as per Amendment 1 to allow unit prices for sign relocation to be included. Supplementary Specifications Section SS Items and mentions Clause and details payment for relocation of existing water valves however Schedule A does not have any Pay Item related to this. Please advise. It is not anticipated that there will be any existing water valves to be relocated and thus no price requirement. Supplementary Specifications Section SS Items and mentions Clause and details payment for adjustments to manhole covers however Schedule A does not have any Pay Item related to this. Please advise. There is no requirement for manhole cover adjustment in this contract, thus there is no need to provide a pay item. Preload Drawing Nos. C9004 and C9005 indicate Settlement Gauge Locations. Will the Settlement Gauges be installed, surveyed and monitored by the City? Installation of the settlement gauges will be inclusive in the price for installing the preload. Survey and monitoring of the preload will be by others. Preload Drawing No. C9005 note on the removal of scale mentions Move scale and equipment to store as directed by City of Vancouver staff. We understand from the September 28, 2016 Information Meeting that the removed scale and equipment will become Contractor s property and can be taken offsite at Contractor s discretion. Please confirm. The City is working to remove the scale prior to the Contractor coming on-site and therefore the pricing in Schedule A will not be required. If the scale is still in place, however, and the City directs the Contractor to move to store as per Drawing C9005, it will be within 20km. The Contractor is to provide provisional pricing to perform this move including mobilization to a site within 20 km of the Vancouver Landfill. The scale will not become the contractor s property. Where is the relocation of existing fire hydrant shown in the drawing? The hydrant relocation has been removed from the contract. Preload Drawing No. C9005 note mentions Remove Structure and Foundation. Are there details available for this structure and foundation? What is this structure being Page 3 of 5

4 used for and are there any equipment and fixture/utilities connections inside or any hazardous materials? A17 Q18 This structure is used for mattress storage. It has a concrete foundation with a canopy composed of portions of clean, treated, or painted wood. The wood portions can be disposed of in the appropriate areas within the Residential Drop- Off area. The concrete can be taken to the Chunks of Asphalt and Concrete site south of the compost area. Preload Drawing No. C9005 note mentions Relocate Sign. Please advise under which Pay Item this work is to be included (Please also see Question # 10 above related to this)? A18 This will be paid for under SS items and Q19 A19 Q20 A20 Q21 A21 Q22 A22 Q23 Preload Drawing No. C9007 Area F, Fb Section and Section 2 detail shows geotextile wrapped granular base and Perforated drain pipe c/w drain rock surround and filter fabric behind the wall. Are these to be incorporated for Area F only as Sectional details for the other preload areas so not show these details? The wrapped granular base and perforated drain pipes are only to be incorporated in the Area F retaining walls as shown on the drawing. Please advise under which Pay Item(s) the cost for the Lock Block Wall Perforated Drainage and Granular Base Pad are to be included? The provision of the lock block wall drainage and granular base pad will be inclusive with the price of the wall. Please advise if the lock block walls are to be battered and if so what the designed batter(s) is. The lock blocks should be installed with a 1:10 batter. Preload Drawing Nos. C9006 and C9007 sectional details of the Preload Surcharge do not show any grid reinforcement for the lock block walls. Please advise whether or not they are required and if required then please provide details. There is no grid reinforcement required for the lock block wall. However maximum height of fill over the top of a lock block wall will be limited to 0.8m. As a result the preload crest elevations for Area A at stations and will be adjusted to 6.8m. Schedule A Item 6.01 mentions 75mm Crushed granular subbase for Sub-Ex Fill whereas Preload Drawings mention Preload Sub-Ex with 75mm Minus SGSB (assuming SGSB references to Select Granular Subbase). The removal and disposal of the preload are not in this contract. Is tree removal permit required? No tree removal permits will be required. Is there any disposal fee?
