M Bid Opening Date: Unchanged: 1:30 PM, Thursday, September 13, 2018 BIDDERS ARE HEREBY INFORMED THAT THE CONSTRUCTION PLANS AND/OR SPECIFICATIONS ARE MODIFIED AS FOLLOWS: I. SPECIFICATIONS: A. SECTION SUMMARY OF WORK 1. Under 1.4 Work Sequence, item A: remove complete sub-items #1 and #2. B. SECTION CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AND TEMPORARY CONTROLS 1. Under 3.2 TEMPORARY UTILITY INSTALLATION, item D: remove sub-items #1 and #2 complete and replace with the following: 1. Heating Facilities (within tunnel space/interior): Except where the Owner authorizes use of the permanent system, provide non-combustible, self-contained, electric powered heaters with individual space thermostatic control. Electric salamander heating units are permitted. NO LP gas or fuel-oil heaters will be permitted. 2. Heating Facilities (outside tunnel space/exterior): Contractor shall provide own vented, self-contained, LP gas or fuel-oil heaters with individual thermostatic controls. Salamander heating units are permitted. 2. Under 3.2 TEMPORARY UTILITY INSTALLATION, item D: ADD new sub-item #3 that reads as follows: 3. Use of gasoline-burning space heaters or open flame space heaters in any application (interior or exterior) are not permitted. C. SECTION CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AND TEMPORARY CONTROLS 1. Under 3.3 SUPPORT FACILITIES INSTALLATION, item F: ADD sub-item #1 that reads as follows: 1. Materials produced by excavation work (e.g. asphalt, rocks, soil) are acceptable to be disposed of on or adjacent to site to be coordinated with Facility. Metals, rebar or acceptable materials with metals or rebar mixed in must be disposed of off site.

2 II. PLANS: A. SHEET S At Detail 2/S-200 DEMO TUNNEL SECTION - ADD general detail note #3 that reads as follows: 3. Contractor to provide appropriate shoring at each side of the utility tunnel to properly support tunnel walls during removal of existing tunnel top slab and until complete installation of new tunnel top slab. 2. At Detail 4/S-200 NEW SLAB TO EXISTING SLAB DETAIL - ADD general detail note that reads as follows: Applicable to cold joint conditions in new tunnel top slab B. SHEET S At Detail 2/S-201 TYP. FENCE POST FOOTING DETAIL - ADD general detail note that reads as follows: Concrete base may remain after construction. Temporary fence post shall be removed, flush to the top of the concrete base. Contractor responsible to fill in void with suitable materials for restoration of area. III. GENERAL NOTES/CLARIFICATIONS: A.
