This Addendum is to amend or clarify the Bid Package dated April 2012: Proposals - Sealed envelope clearly marked Sealed Bid Holland Middle School Hot Water Heater Replacement Bid #12-28 containing the bid must be submitted no later than 2:00PM Thursday, May 3, Mail or deliver (2) copies of the proposal to: Nancy McGlade, Secretary of Purchasing, Council Rock School District, The Chancellor Center, 30 North Chancellor Street, Newtown, PA General Information: 1. A Non-mandatory Prebid meeting took place on Wednesday, April 25, A copy of the sign-in sheet is attached to the addendum. Changes to Specifications: 2. Reference Scope of Work, 1.0 Purpose Delete the entire paragraph and replace with the following: The purpose of the project is to delete the existing 1000 hot water storage tank and replace with a new gas fired high efficiency instantaneous hot water heater. 3. Reference Scope of Work, 2.1 Contract Period Reference the third paragraph, subparagraph 1, delete and replace with the following: Monday through Friday (7:00am 10:00pm) 4. Reference Bid Form, Replace page 1 with the Bid Form attached to this Addendum. The Bid # was incorrect on the original Bid Form Page 1 of 2

2 Changes to Drawings: 5. Reference Drawing PE-0, ADD the following note: The existing floor to floor elevation is approximately 14-0 and the existing elevated slab construction is steel structure, metal deck and concrete. All pipe and equipment hangars must be supported from existing steel structure. Include the cutting and patching of the existing suspended plaster ceiling system in the bid. The plaster ceiling system has been tested and does not contain any asbestos containing materials. Should the Contractor suspect that any materials may be ACM, work should cease and the suspect material should be reported to the Owner for testing. 6. Reference Drawing PE-2, Partial Boiler Room Plan - Water Heater Replacement New Work Plan Plumbing & Electric: The Space indicated on the drawings that is immediately to the left of the boiler room plan is the Kitchen Dry Storage Space. The Contractor s must protect all supplies within this space from damage during construction. This space also has a lay-in ceiling structure. It is the Contractors responsibility to remove this ceiling, grid, etc. and provide any means necessary to suspend light fixtures during the process of this work. All ceiling, grid, lights etc. must be reinstalled once work is completed. Any damaged ceiling, grid, lights, etc. must be replaced with similar new by this Contractor. 7. Reference Drawing PE-3, Details - Plumbing: Replace the Tempering Valve Detail with the enclosed Sketch SKP-1. 3 Council Rock School District 30 North Chancellor Street Newtown, PA Holland Middle School Hot Water Heater Replacement Project Bid # BID PROPOSAL Contract Base Bid Price - Provide a lump sum price to perform all work associated with the project. Dollars. (Words) ($ ) (Figures) 1. ALTERNATES: The Bidder agrees that the Owner shall have the right to accept or reject any or all of the following alternates, which acceptance or rejection shall enter into the determination of the low bidder. The bidder agrees that the contract time shall not be increased on account of the acceptance of any one or combination of alternates unless specifically stated in such Alternate descriptions. The Bidder agrees that the Owner shall have the right to accept an alternate that is higher in price than the base bid or other alternate. Alternates Prices shall include the cost of furnishing, installing all materials, labor, tools, equipment and other incidentals necessary to complete the work in accordance with the design intent, manufacturers recommendations, building codes and the project specifications. Do not adjust material allowance under any alternate bid items. NO ALTERNATE BID ITEMS 2. UNIT PRICES: OWNER shall make adjustments to the Contract based on the actual field conditions encountered using the Unit Prices included with the proposal. The BIDDER agrees that OWNER reserves the right to reject or otherwise not agree to use the Unit Prices submitted, if in the Owners opinion, the nature or quantity of the Work encountered is such that the unit price cost no longer applies to the Work. The responsiveness of the Bid and if the Bid is responsible, may be determined by the Owner on the basis of the Unit Prices proposed by the bidder. Unit Prices shall be consistent with verifiable average costs for the work to be performed. Bidders agree that a proposal may be rejected if the Unit Prices submitted are inconsistent with the average cost. Under NO circumstances will BIDDER perform Unit Price Work without prior written authorization from OWNER. Unit Prices shall include costs for furnishing and installing all materials, labor, tools, equipment, and other incidental necessary to complete the specified operation
