6 P600/tailored walls Epac, New York, P600 L Oreal, New Jersey, P600 The P600 wall overturns the traditional concept of interior movable partitions. Instead of a classic structure consisting of steel uprights and crossbars, to which the infill panels solid or glazed are attached, P600 uses a load-bearing structure made of extruded aluminum profiles, fastened to the ceiling and the floor, that hold glass or solid panels in either wood veneer or melamine. The wall design is not based on preset modules but it adapts to the height and depth of the location in which it is installed, on a tailor-made philosophy. The flexibility of this product, therefore, does not only lie in its ability to be easily relocated, but also in the high degree of adaptability to a project s design requirements and customer needs. The nature of the P600 wall, unrestricted by the height and width of fixed modular sizes and based on the tailor-made concept of the glass elements, makes it possible to design any interior configurations, especially when it is necessary to adapt to existing arrangements or when the design requires dynamic interiors, free from the restraints of a rigid geometry. 10 Dechert, New York, P600 11

9 P650/beyond flexibility Comcast, Philadelphia, P650 Innovating while respecting tradition is one of the secrets of longevity for a company and its products. Faram, thanks to its extensive experience in designing and producing partition walls, has produced P650, a new wall that originates from the well-established tradition of P600 but goes further, beyond experimentation. This system is designed to compensate for both floor and ceiling unevenness during the installation phase. The vertical flexibility of the system allows it to accommodate up to an inch of unevenness in any place, while guaranteeing the traditional features of transparency and brightness of single glazed partitions. This system perfectly adapts to any type of working environment: executive and open plan offices or meeting rooms. A patented transparent extruded polycarbonate joint, placed between glass panels, creates a sturdy and uninterrupted wall, guaranteeing maximum transparency. Two and three way junctions have the same polycarbonate connecting system. A coextruded rigid/soft PVC gasket guarantees optimum acoustic sealing along the whole wall perimeter. 12 P600s/minimal design Cadillac, New York, P600s Less is more. The famous quote from the architect Mies van der Rohe perfectly summarizes the concept of simplicity and minimalism of the P600s. It is certain that designing and making a product that has a complex function is easier than simplifying it. Obtaining optimum results and performance from a minimum of equipment and resources is an accurate attitude of today s dominant culture. P600s has been conceived with this philosophy in mind, to provide maximum performance in both acoustic insulation and in transparency. P600s is a demountable partition wall based on a rectangular extruded aluminum profile fixed to both the floor and ceiling. The aluminum profile has an internal glass clamping system which ensures that the glass is pressed against the acoustic seals. A snap on cover completes the track. The partition structure in aluminum extrusions consists of a main profile in which the glass panel, a clamping element and a snap on finishing cover are housed. 22 Cadillac, New York, P600s 23

15 P450/standard partition Autopolar, Conegliano, P450 The P450 wall is based on a rolled steel load-bearing structure consisting of ceiling and floor tracks, and upright posts finished with solid or glazed panels. Unlike the other wall systems which are made to measure for each single application, the P450 system is composed of standard modules covering a range of width and height dimensions designed to meet different design requirements. Vertical and horizontal scribe panels are used to finish the installation. There is an alternative version which uses full height panels with no need for scribing. Finally, the P450 is also available as a storage wall, which combines two functions in one product: a dividing partition and floor to ceiling storage. The design of the P450 wall is based on standard modules adapted to specific requirements. The void in the solid modules allows mineral wool insulating material to be added to achieve optimum soundproofing. The doors are installed on painted aluminum perimeter frames anchored to the steel structure. 18 P500/multiple integrations Nestle Waters, Issy Les Moulineax, P500 The P500 wall is a partition system of high technological and aesthetic composition. Its structural steel profiles consist of floor and ceiling tracks, and upright posts for vertical stability. The finishing panels, either solid or glazed on aluminum frames, are snapped onto the posts with steel clips. Both solid and glazed finishing panels can be full height or in a band design. Moreover, the structural design of the partition simplifies integration with services and accessories, thanks to technical compartments to house, for instance, cabling and ventilation systems. Slots in the upright posts allow shelves and storage units to be hung directly. The P500 partition can easily integrate with other standard products, which offers a wide range of space management solutions. The P500 wall is designed to combine with other wall systems, especially P700 and P600, so as to offer the widest possible range of technical solutions, both in terms of flexibility of use and aesthetics. 34 RBS, Stamford, P500 35

Panels can be full height to the ceiling, or banded horizontally with uniform shadow gaps finished with gaskets. 21 P700/acoustic performance Morgan Stanley, Hong Kong, P700 The P700 demountable partition represents an evolution of the P600 system, both based on a load-bearing structure made of extruded aluminum profiles, structural glass panels and adhesive polycarbonate dry joints. What makes the P600 system different is the doubling up of the glass paneling, which enhances soundproofing and mechanical resistance. Transparency and versatility are unaltered, with the addition of a greater potential in terms of visual and acoustic privacy. The use of double glazing, in fact, makes it possible to attain higher levels of sound insulation and to use a variety of screening systems. Moreover, the P700 wall can be perfectly combined with other systems, such as the P600 or P500 partitions, resulting in an organic and harmonized ensemble to meet the widest range of needs. The design principles of the P700 wall make it possible to create large surfaces without any metallic uprights or other vertical elements which might partially obstruct the view. 40 Proskauer Rose, Paris, P700 41

The hinged doors can be single or double glazed; the latter helps to maintain the high level of acoustic performance of the partition. 24 P900/transparent elegance Gucci, Dubai, P900 The new P900 partition wall represents the conclusion of a journey of research and experimentation in vertical demountable partitioning carried out by Faram. Its design features all the aspects that can make it a complete product, elegant, functional, and suitable for all situations: excellent performance, almost complete transparency in the single and double glazed versions, versatile configurations, flexibility of use, the ability of the solid version to divide, link, and organize spaces

27 Finishes FINISHES METAL PROFILES FINISHES All the elements of the systems, whether press folded sheet steel or extruded aluminum, can be polished, anodized, brushed, and epoxy polyester powder coated. The metallic finishes come with a wide color range, from warm nuances to various shades of gray, clear to titanium, or any other metallic colors according to specific projects. The painted finish can be based on both the RAL color chart and Pantone, in a coated and uncoated version. A full color option is always available and even custom print processes, depending on feasibility criteria. DECORATED WALL A partition wall is not a mere technical system to divide and organize space. It can also assume other features depending on the requirements or, more simply, the theme of the design. For instance, it can become a way to convey images, information, signs, and graphic patterns to decorate the interiors; it can also perform more specific functions, such as screening the interiors or displaying corporate logos or colors. Basically it is a smooth, blank, and uninterrupted surface that provides endless writing possibilities.
