Quality and Technical Excellence Head office, Ross-on-Wye During the 1950 s window manufacturing underwent a lasting change with the discovery that polymers were an ideal material for making frames. Today, REHAU as a top supplier of window, door, curtain walling and conservatory systems, plays a leading role in the use of polymers. With a variety of over twenty systems worldwide, the chance of finding one to suit almost any architectural style and climate condition has never been easier. However it isn t just the sheer scale of the range that has undergone dramatic change over time, the sophisticated advances in technology have created more diverse applications and a more adaptable production approach. Embracing these new steps in technology has proved extremely beneficial to us at REHAU. However some things have remained the same, with a continuation throughout the years of our quality control of the highest order, with investment still seen as the cornerstone of any new product, and an emphasis on the importance of research and development. We understand that there is little point in an outstanding product if the service which goes with it is anything less than its equal, and believe in the individuality of individual markets (with all our UK systems designed and made solely in the UK). REHAU s expertise is displayed in our extensive range of services such as a special CAD facility that can provide architects and designers with support including wind calculations. To our highly qualified independent fabricators, trained to follow our technical guidelines, (with many of them holding BS EN ISO 9000, BBA approval and Kitemark licences to BS 7412). To a technically competent sales team which offers help and advice right across the country. The way we see it, our customers are an integral part of our history and of our future. 4 Blaenau Factory

THE WAY WE SEE IT, OUR CUSTOMERS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF OUR HISTORY AND OF OUR FUTURE REHAU Academy REHAU Academy is our training centre where we run a vast range of courses to provide our customers and clients with in-depth knowledge of issues that effect the use of polymers in the construction industry. All training for our fabricators is carried out under the REHAU Academy banner. REHAU also have a number of approved CPD seminars on Window systems, Underfloor heating & cooling and Data cabling. Research and Development 5

Tried, Tested, Tough - and Insulated Approvals The main UK systems have been tested in accordance with and meet the highest requirements of BS 7412 and are kitemarked to BS EN12608 (Licence No ), which incorporates BS EN ISO They have also been approved by the BBA. The S706 70mm and REHAU-Tritec 60mm systems have been type tested to BS7950 and PAS23/24 security standards and are also approved by the London Housing Consortium and by Birmingham City Laboratories. If you require full details of the approvals for individual systems please ask for a copy of the system Test Report. Building Regulations REHAU systems comply with all relevant Building Regulations including Part L (England & Wales), Part J Scotland Conservation of Fuel Power. The table opposite provides a guide to the regulations applicable to our systems. Our Commercial Sales Managers will be able to help you with any further details you require regarding REHAU systems and Building Regulations.. Cleaning & Maintenance PVC-U can be cleaned with warm water, a gentle household detergent and a soft cloth. Specific maintenance requirements, especially for finished products, fittings and hardware as issued by manufacturers and fabricators, should be observed. Material Properties All REHAU systems are made from our own formulation, RAU-PVC 1406, which is impact-modified and weather resistant. This means that they are durable and will keep their looks for many years whatever the weather throws at them. The Environment REHAU is committed to minimise the impact of our operations on the Environment. We achieved recognition for environmental management with our ISO14001 certification. Recycling plays a significant part in our processes from running schemes to recycle window waste into new window profile to a vast array of technical product produced from recycled material. We are currently working with external agencies to audit our processes for the environmental impact. Third party Approvals REHAU-Tritec S706 S719 For detailed information of the elements of each profi le covered and nature of that cover please ask for our Test Reports. 6

REHAU Polytec 50 Curtain Walling 4Characteristics The REHAU-Polytec 50 curtain walling system is suitable for both new build and replacement, vertical or inclined curtain walling and single or multi-storey buildings. Straight or polygon construction is also possible. It is a slim system with face profi les measuring just 50mm and combines the economics of polymer materials with the advantages of conventional transom/mullion construction. Using a wide range of commercial steel profi les can accommodate variable static load factors. There is a corresponding selection of Snap- On profi les for design purposes. Appearance REHAU-Polytec 50 is available in white and a vast range of RAL colours using the REHAU Acryl II colour coating system for PVC-U profi les and powder coating for aluminium profi les. Insulation The frame achieves a coeffi cient of heat transmission of U R < 1.5Wm 2 K. Glazing The system incorporates direct fi x and/or sub frames for all types of openers _ from both the REHAU- Tritec 60mm and REHAU S706 70mm systems. Maximum Sizes Maximum frame sizes, spans and dimensions depend mainly on the design criteria weight of the mouldings, pressure/suction loads and dead weights. This relationship is designed in the Glazing Recommendations under Static Load Factors. In the EU, roof glazing is generally limited to a width of 1m, tied in two sides of the building. If one of these limits is exceeded, an individual static load analysis is required. Approvals The REHAU-Polytec 50 curtain walling system has been indicatively tested at Rosenheim and resulting reports can be made available on request. Specifi c testing for wind and water penetration can be commissioned for individual projects if required. 32

Colour & Finishes 5 REHAU offers it s PVC-U systems in over 150 different colour options through the use of two distinctive systems, Acryl II colour coating and lamination. Acryl II The Acryl II colour coating system is the result of a development by our automotive division, which has used a similar system for many years to produce colour matched polymer car bumpers. It is a two component acrylic coating system, which involves tightly controlled preparation, application of the cross-linking polyurethane acrylic by wet spraying and then air curing. The fi nish is durable, colour fast and weather resistant. Acryl II coating does not affect the impact resistance of the PVC-U profi le. There is a choice of over 150 RAL colours and the system allows for optimum versatility and creative use of colour. For example, the frame and the sash or the inside and the outside can be fi nished in two different colours. Alternatively, sills or beading can be fi nished to contrast with the frame. Due to the fl exibility of the system it is suitable for both small and large-scale installations. Laminate PVC-U REHAU have a range of standard laminate options. For most systems they are mahogany, golden oak and rosewood on white and mahogany, rosewood and golden oak both sides. A further range of 7 woodgrain and 10 colour non-standard laminate options are available to special order. Laminate can be applied to the inside or outside or both sides of white base profi le and to both sides of brown and acorn base profi les. The fi nish is colourfast, weather resistant and durable. Due to the complexity of the process lamination is best suited to large volume installations in the same colour. For more details of availability of these systems please contact your nearest REHAU Sales Offi ce and ask to talk to our of our Commercial Sales Managers. 34
