Date of Addendum: January 11, 2019 Revised Addendum January 16, NOTICE TO BIDDERS A. This Addendum is issued to all registered plan holders pursuant to the Instructions to Bidders. This Addendum serves to clarify, revise, and supersede information in the Project Manual, Drawings, and previously issued Addenda. Portions of the Addendum affecting the Contract Documents will be incorporated into the Contract by enumeration of the Addendum in the Owner/Contractor Agreement. B. The Bidder shall acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the appropriate space on the Bid Form. C. It is the contractor s responsibility to visit the site and gather any necessary information. D. This narrative is being revised and issued to note the drawings and specs that were submitted with Addendum A. All other information on the narrative will remain the same. E. Pre-bid meeting minutes and sign-in sheet have been attached to this narrative. F. All questions are due by Monday, January 28th at 2:00 p.m. G. Bid opening will be Thursday, January 31st, at 2:00 p.m. in the Executive Conference Room at the Jefferson County Board of Education central office. ADDENDUM NO. A A.2-1

The Bidder must acknowledge receipt of this Addendum by statement of receipt indicated on the Proposal Form. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification. SPECIFICATIONS: Section Building System Controls: Add the following to 1.1 Description of Work, F. ALTERNATE: Provide stand-alone thermostat controls for Clay, Pleasant Grove, and Snow Rogers Elementary Schools. 5 JEFCO GYMS HVAC ADDITIONS TO ADAMSVILLE, BRYAN, CLAY, PLEASANT GROVE, AND SNOW ROGERS ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS Jefferson County, Alabama Tuesday, January 8th, at 2:00 p.m. PREBID MEETING 1. Prime Bidders: Attendance at Prebid meeting is mandatory. a. Sign-in sheet BIDDING INFORMATION 1. Bids are by pre-qualified general contractors only. 2. Refer to Section "Instructions to Bidders" for specific bid requirements. 3. Project is tax-exempt per Sections and a. Include C-3A Accounting of Sales Tax Form. 4. Bid bond or cashier's check must be submitted with bid proposal. 5. Conform to Alabama Immigration Law. 6. Clarifications and approved substitutions will be issued by addendum. COMMUNICATION DURING BIDDING PERIOD: 1. Prime Contractors and Subcontractors may purchase Contract Documents from Alabama Graphics. a. Purchase of plans will register bidder with Digital Plan Room and permit notification of addenda postings. b. Addenda will be issued to Prime Contractors only via Alabama Graphics Digital Plan Room. 2. Bidder's Requests for Information. Send via to and All RFI s are to be sent prior to 3 business days of the bid date (January 28th at 2:00 pm). 3. Bidder's Substitution Request - refer to General Conditions.

6 BID OPENING 1. Sealed bids will be accepted up to Thursday, January 31st, at 2:00 JEFFCOED. Deliver proposals to the office of Ms. Tracie Busby. Immediately thereafter, bids will be opened and read. a. Bid Opening will be in the Executive Conference Room: th Street South Birmingham, Alabama b. Notify Wil Bradford and Keith Bridgham if bid will be mailed. 2. The owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularity therein. 3. If all addenda are not acknowledged by number (1,2,3,etc.), on the bid form or if the bid form is not signed, the bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the bidder immediately without considering the bid amount. 4. The bid amount is to be listed in both written and numerical form. If there is a discrepancy between the two, the written amount will be used. 5. Notations on the outside of the envelope will be allowed. CONTRACTING REQUIREMENTS: 1. Drawings and Specifications dated December 10, 2018 and subsequent Addenda. CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS: 1. The project consists of the demolition of existing equipment and adding new HVAC units to the gymnasium of each school. There will be associated electrical and fire alarm raceways and equipment required as well as a new roof ladder for the schools that will receive new rooftop units. The schools that will receive new units on the ground will require a concrete pad. 1. Temporary Facilities. a. The General Contractor is responsible for providing all temporary facilities to the site. 2. Section "Allowances": a. Allowance No. 1: Contingency Allowance - $10,000 per school for use as determined by the owner.

7 3. Section "Unit Prices": a. N/A. 4. Section "Alternates": a. Alternate No. 1: Remov al of existing boiler and associated utilities for Clay Elementary School. 5. Separate Contracts: 6. Safety SCHEDULE: a. N/A. a. Safety is paramount b. Provide safety fencing for work separation. Safe pathways to be maintained. Layout and parking on job site. 1. Time is of the Essence. 2. Anticipated start date is May 28th, 2019 with a completion date of July 31, The Owner will issue a Letter of Intent, so that the Contractor may start the shop drawing process (Letter of Intent anticipated to be issued toward the end of February). 4. Alabama Building Commission permit fees must be paid prior to Pre-Construction Conference. Notice to proceed will commence on the date of the Pre-Construction Conference. 5. Liquidated Damages of 6% per annum will be assessed to Prime Contractor for work not Substantially Complete within the Contract Time. SITE/FACILITY VISIT OR WALKTHROUGH 1. Site visits to all schools prior to bid opening is required. 2. Each contractor may visit the project site on their own time. Each visitor shall check-in with the front office and receive a visitor's pass before entering the remaining campus/gym. Site visits to Adamsville and Pleasant Grove will be held on Wednesday, January 16 th. Start at Adamsville at 11:30 am. Site visits to Bryan, Clay, and Snow Rogers will be held on Thursday, January 17 th. Start at Bryan at 9:00 am.

8 ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS/NOTES: 1. All allowance items fall under the General Contractor s scope, not the subcontractor. 2. The following are the mechanical controls for the schools: a. AES programmable thermostats b. BES programmable thermostats c. CES Trane (will issue alternate to include programmable thermostat in lieu of building system controls) d. PGES Trane (will issue alternate to include programmable thermostat in lieu of building system controls) e. SRES Trane (will issue alternate to include programmable thermostat in lieu of building system controls) 3. Simplex is the fire protection contractor currently contracted with JEFCO at these schools with the only exception being that Notifier is at Bryan and Pleasant Grove Elementary. 4. There is an active 5 year warranty for a sealed roof at the Clay Elementary gym that was installed by Malone Roofing.
