8 AAK towards wind energy Accessing Offshore Wind Turbine Structure Developers have in several contexts mentioned the need for operational and access solutions to lower costs and improve safety. To fullfill this need, and current HSE requirements it is essential to choose the right methods, equipment and the accompanying practices and procedures. AAK, Brothers AS and Helly Hansen have developed a general transfer system for transferring personell, equipment, tools from an in-field vessel to and from an offshore wind turbine structure. 10 AAK towards wind energy Wind Energy Lesson Learned Offshore lifting operations and installation of fundation, tower, turbine and blades are usually the most demanding and costly. It is here we make our experience work for offshore wind. Project managers/engineers with extensive rope access experience are seen as key factors for the successful completion of projects. Rope access engineers will approach prosject without limitations relating to access using scaffolding, cradles or mobile elevated work platforms. Rope access can result in considerable cost savings. Focus on Safety and training ensures a perfect HSE / Q record.
