6 Leader in Practical Technology Parex gives you a choice EIFS or Stucco Energy...Drainage...Cost...Substrate...Flexibility...Structure...Building Height...Finish... A few things to consider BEFORE deciding... Efficiency: EIF systems incorporate insulation board as a system component making EIFS one of the most energy efficient claddings available.. Drainage: Some EIF systems are specifically engineered to provide moisture control and drainage. Stuccos do not typically have drainage systems built in. Project Type: EIFS are most often found in commercial applications while stucco is usually used in residential markets. Weight: EIFS weigh less than most claddings and is more appropriate where building height, design or soil considerations call for lighter materials. Crack Resistance: EIFS resist cracking better than stucco because of the polymers in the base coat and the EPS used in it. Impact Resistance: EIFS systems are resiliant and recover better than stucco from impact. Substrates: EIFS are usually applied over a variety of substrates. Stucco is typically installed over wood substrates. Finish Types: Both EIFS and stucco offer a wide range of finish textures and an infinite selection of colors. Cost: Stuccos are typically less expensive in terms of materials and installation costs than EIF systems. Puncture Resistance: Stuccos are typically applied 3/8"-5/8" thick and offer excellent resistance to impact and puncture. EIFS 1 Coat EIFS and Stucco Components 1. Substrate Typically gypsum, cement or wood-based, the substrate for the system is a factor in the selection of the correct set of products. 2. Secondary Barrier Secondary barriers can be trowel or rollerapplied or supplied as sheet goods. 3. Insulation Board Made of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) or Extruded Polystyrene (XPS), insulation board provides excellent thermal protection. 4. Base Coat A polymer-modified blend of cement and proprietary materials, the base coat forms a continuous envelope around the structure, serving as an air and water barrier. 5. Stucco Stuccos are cement-based stuccos applied in two coats, the scratch and brown coats. Stucco provides a durable, impact resistant base for acrylic finishes. 6. Primer Primers promote improved adhesion, increase coverage of the finish coat and assist in providing a more uniform look to the building exterior. 7. Acrylic Finish Acrylic finishes are designed to provide protection and beauty to the finished wall system. Parex offers DPR and e-lastic elastomeric finishes. Parex gives you a choice. We offer both EIFS and stucco. With more than 15 years in the business and more than 300 million square feet of products installed, we have the experience you can depend on for "real world" answers. If you re wondering if EIFS or stucco is your best choice, count on Parex to help you decide. 7

7 Textures&Colors MULTI TEXTURE SPRAYED SMOOTH SWIRL FINE SAND FINE SWIRL COARSE Better ways to get the job done, and better ways to support our customers. Parex products apply science and good product design to find better ways to cope with dirt and stain accumulation, hairline cracking, atmospheric pollutants and mold and mildew. DPR Finishes, "The Plus", and our exclusive Parex e-lastic TM are some of the results: DPR Finishes combine the latest technologies to resist dirt accumulation with the color retention of 100% acrylics. "The Plus" delivers an optional stepped-up dosage of biocide for even more resistance to algae and fungi. A must where mold and mildew are factors. Parex e-lastic TM is a new generation of elastomeric polymers based on exclusive Parex formulations. Parex e-lastic TM is easy to apply, hides hairline cracks, and offers much-improved resistance to airborne dirt and pollutants. It can be applied over most cementitious and EIFS substrates and/or old finishes. Parex Practical Technology another form of leadership. SAND COARSE

Because different regional and local jurisdictions involve many different construction methods, building codes and code interpretations Parex recommends selecting a Parex Water Master drainable system over all other systems for single family woodframed or woodsheathed residential structures. 100% ACRYLIC POLYMERS MEMBER OF m^obu P.O.
