11 REMEX // Group REMEX Landfill Management

12 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Landfill management Sustainable and safe: Design, construction and management of landfill sites of all classes Experience with hazardous or non-hazardous waste sites Reliable partner, ensuring economic viability Provision of all financial securities for construction, operation, closure and post-closure

13 REMEX // Group REMEX Stabilisation and Backfilling of Disused Mines

14 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Stabilisation and backfilling of disused mines In-depth service: High-quality backfilling solutions providing maximum stability in mining sections that are no longer operational Production of resource efficient stabilisation material using mineral waste Backfilling using state-of-the-art technology, applying different methods Big Bags, loose or high consistency placement Officially certified proof of long-term safety

15 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Special products and services Concentration on sustainable materials and solutions for a circular economy: pp.landfill : Public private landfill as a co-operation model ts.recycling : Thermal recycling of tar contaminated stratification material granova : Secondary aggregates made from incinerator bottom ash remexit : Recycled aggregates from construction and demolition waste

16 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Special products and services granova : When municipal waste is burnt in Energy from Waste plants to gain energy and to reduce the waste volume, bottom ash remains. This incinerator bottom ash is treated by REMEX and turned into a high quality secondary aggregate using different sieving methods, including the removal of metals (ferrous and non-ferrous) and organic matter. The material is used in roads, earthworks or landfill construction. In the Netherlands, we market it as aggregate for the production of concrete products.

17 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Special products and services remexit : REMEX treats construction and demolition waste to a high quality recycled aggregate. The process includes crushing, sieving and removing of valuable metals. The recycled aggregate is used in the technically very demanding upper layers such as cappings of roads as a high quality building material. granova and remexit enable the completely sustainable construction of roads. Both materials contribute to saving valuable natural resources such as sand, gravel and crushed rock.

18 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Special products and services Landfill model pp.landfill : Municipalities have to provide sufficient landfill capacities even if the budget is tight. Publicprivate co-operation can be the solution. REMEX carries all costs and financial risks regarding the construction, operation, closure and post-closure of a landfill site. In return, REMEX receives the contractual right to market part of the fill volume of the landfill site. The public authority remains the owner and operator of the site and maintains the right to accept waste in the area. The landfill model pp.landfill supports public authorities in their duty to provide sufficient landfill capacities and stable disposal fees.

19 REMEX // Group From waste to resource management Special products and services Thermal recycling ts.recycling : Road construction, repair or expansion produces rubble which is often contaminated with tar. Tar is harmful to human health. Often, rubble including tar is re-used in bound road construction. However, this means the material remains in the environment. By thermally treating the rubble, the carcinogenic PAHs are burnt. The result is an aggregate of primary material quality with no limitations regarding its re-use. We accept any kind of road rubble and offer our customers this new kind of recovery together with our designated local industrial partners.
