Revise IT Part I Section 3.0 Submission of Tenders, Tender Closing Date as follows: The Tender Closing date has been extended. The Closing Date is revised as follows: Tenders Close Wednesday January 25 th, 2017 at 2:00pm. All other conditions remain the same. 2. Revise IT Part I Section 4.0 subsection as follows: Tender questions will be accepted until 2:00pm, Friday January 20 th, The following drawings have been revised as follows: a. Drawing 101 (Valve Chamber Detail) Drawing re issued, see attached b. Drawing 103 (Reservoir Typical Section) Removed High and Low Floats refer to electrical drawings Drawing re issued, see attached. c. Drawing D1 Add: 50mm Air / Vacuum Break Valve at approximate station Exact location beyond traveled road to be determined in the field. Air valve as per Tofino DWG. W6A SD. All pipe and fittings to be 50mm diameter. Drawing not re issued. d. Drawing D1 Add: Clearing and grubbing to be completed for width of road right of way for length of new supply pipe. No clearing or grubbing is to be completed outside of the road right ofway. 4. The following Supplementary Specifications have been revised as follows: a. 8.1 Water System Operation Add: Temporary bypass line shall be a minimum of 200mm diameter and suitable for potable water use. b. 8.3 Incidental Works Add: Road Construction / Surface Restoration 5. Add Item mm Air / Vacuum Break Valve Payment for this item shall include all of the work and materials required to supply and install the 50mm air valve assembly at approximate station Exact location beyond traveled road to be determined in the field. Work shall include supply and installation of the air valve assembly as detailed on District of Tofino Standard Drawing W6A SD. All pipe and fittings to 50mm diameter. Includes chamber. Payment shall be made at the tendered unit price. c. Item 6.1 Level Controls Item now Optional Work and includes and Allowance. d. Item 6.2 Relocate Existing Utilities Deleted from project Clarifications: 6. Question: Will alternate reservoir suppliers be accepted? Answer: Tenderers are permitted to submit alternate tenders in addition to, and not in substitution for, a tender which conforms to the requirements of the contract documents. Bidders can do this through the process outlined in MMCD specification section 6.0 in Instructions to Tenderers Part II.6.0 Qualifications, Modifications, Alternative Tenders 6.1, 6.2 and Question: Can further detail be provided on the valve chamber hatch? Answer: Xylem Aluminum/Steel (Safe Hatch) access Frame detail attached (Document No. ES ) 8. Question: Does all blasted rock need to be removed from the site? Answer: Yes, all surplus materials need to be removed from site. 9. Question: Is blasting permitted by Tofino bylaws? Answer: Yes, blasting is permitted. However, all works must adhere to the District of Tofino noise bylaw. Works are permitted from 7am until 10pm. 10. Question: Can the base plates for the Kee Klamp railing be drilled, tapped and bolted into the reservoir roof or should they be welded? Question: Under what payment item shall clearing and grubbing be covered for the roadway? Answer: Clearing, grubbing, and tree removal for the road way is to be considered incidental works as noted in Supplemental Specification 8.3 Incidental Works. END McElhanney Consulting Services Ltd.
