2 1. General Contents and Details of the Competition The competition is intended for university and postgraduate students. The purpose of the competition is to increase their interest, and develop their capabilities in the field of the aviation engine technologies. This document has been drawn up in order to lay down any and all rules and requirements with respect to the Mini Jet Radial Compressor Design competition held as part of the Technology Competitions in TEKNOFEST ISTANBUL Aerospace and Technology Festival (TEKNOFEST). In general terms, the document includes competition rules and design restrictions. The participating teams are expected to design a mini jet radial compressor, which will meet the design criteria as provided hereunder, and to draw up the report for such design. The compressor, designed as such, shall be produced with TEI's own means, and assembly, ground and flight test support shall be provided by TEI. Design of the winning team will be integrated into a turbojet engine to provide a thrust to the platform that will fly up to maximum 1000 feet and a group speed of 165 knots from the runway floor, and following the ground tests, the turbojet engine will be integrated into the high-speed flight platform, to be provided by the organization, and it will make a demonstration flight on the date of this event. The application form should be filled in until Each participating team can compete with maximum one design. The teams may comprise of maximum 5 members. Applications shall be received on the official website of TEKNOFEST Technology Competitions ( General Information: Production, integration and ground tests of the mini jet radial compressor designs, ranking among the top 3, shall be undertaken by TEI, and the winning design shall be integrated into the engine, and it will fly through the appropriate platform upon obtaining the airworthiness approval on the date of this event. 2.
