2 Glass waste turns into warm house!v The Private Limited Liability Company Stikloporas is the first plant of foamglass granulate in the Baltic region that was established in The company recycles up to 5000 tons of glass breakage. The output allows making about tons of foamglass granulate. The value of the manufacturing project exceeds 9,8 mln. Litas. We aim: To encourage the Lithuanian residents to sort the waste and not to pollute the nature; To implant new, advanced technologies in the manufacture and industry of construction products using as many raw materials preserving energy and natural resources as possible; To encourage the residents and the companies to use the harmless, durable and light thermal insulation material in construction. Our mission: We work so that our country would be cleaner, so that we would help to preserve clean environment by sorting the waste and turning it into useful product. We work so that the industrial companies would use not our natural resources but the accumulating waste for construction products. Our future: We will attempt to become the most progressive and innovative company of glass recycling in the Baltic region and to introduce novelties into the construction market and industry. We will endeavor at turning at least 5000 tons of glass waste in Lithuania into the useful heating material foamglass granulate. We cherish nature! No production waste!

3 Foamglass is a unique thermal insulation material made from glass breakage in the form of small, porous granules according to the patented technology. The foamglass granulate (porous, blown glass) is the very poriferous, porous, inorganic thermal insulation material in the form of granules that is received when the finely ground glass is melted down with the blowing agents. Its structure reminds rigid soap foam. Characteristics Low coefficient of thermal conductivity The foamglass granulate detains warmth due to the structure of granules the fine pores inside as if lock the air inside of the granule. Therefore, the thermal conductivity coefficient ƛ is between and 0,08 W mk. Resistance The foamglass granules are resistant to compression fin the cylinder from 1.5 to 2.5 MPa. This feature does not change during the entire maintenance period. Fire resistance The constructions with foamglass are more fire-resistant. The chemical composition of the main component is just simple blown silicate glass, consisting of the molten highest oxides, which do not evaporate or burn. The operating temperature regime of foamglass granulate is from -200 C to 700 C. Humidity resistance The unique structure of the foamglass granulate prevents absorbing more than 10% of water from total volume even if it is completely immersed into water. This happens because the granule is covered by the fusion layer. It is very important that water absorption does not increase with time and the material maintains all the initial thermal insulation characteristics and stability. Chemical and biological persistence The foamglass granulate is completely resistant to the impact of organic and inorganic chemical reagents (the only exception is fluorine hydrogen acid that is used to melt glass). Besides, the foamglass is resistant to the biological impact; it does not decompose or decay. None of the known biological microorganisms has the possibility to exist in it and it is not eaten by rodents. Cleanliness This inorganic material is completely friendly to the environment, because it is simply a glass. When in use, and under the effect of changing temperatures or humidity, no chemical substances are generated. Durability Due to the closed cavities inside of the pores of the foamglass granulate, this material remains unchanged for many years, thus its exploitation period is indefinite.

6 Loose insulation The foamglass granulate is used as loose thermal insulation material. For arrangement of flat roof inclines and heating (it does not burden the roof s construction, forms inclines, insulated areas, when the fire-safety insulation is needed around the chimneys). Installation and leveling of ground floor, filling of holes (it does not allow to spread for capillary moisture, to breed for rodents and insects, and it covers communications). Overlay heating (it does not increase the load, fills easily the non-standard holes and can be used under the heated floor). For heating of foundations from outside (it does not allow the humidity to rise through the foundation, it is easy to use in new construction or when old foundation is excavated). Installation of drainage. Heating of communications. Insulation of chimneys. 8 Foamglass granulate is an excellent aggregate of concrete and grout The main purpose of the foamglass granulate is lightweight aggregate. It performs the thermal insulation functions of the construction used as separate material and as component of the concrete. It is especially recommended for humid usage conditions, in case of high temperature up to 700 C, in the aggressive alkaline and acid environment and in frequently changing environmental conditions humidity and temperature. We have developed the possibility in the manufacture to separate the fractions of granules so that it would be possible to dosage the necessary amounts of aggregate when making dry mixtures and concrete of high quality. Basic fractions: 0,25-0,5 mm, 0,5-1 mm, 1-2 mm, 2-4 mm, 4-8 mm, 8-16 mm. Special fractions: 0,-2,0 mm, 0,0-4,0 mm. The foamglass granulate of the basic and special fractions will provide the possibility to improve the characteristics of the products of constructional and industrial purpose concretes and mortars even by 50%, to facilitate and improve their thermal insulation characteristics, resistance to environmental impact humidity, mould and high temperature. The cement, lime, polymer materials, plaster, all the mineral aggregates and chemical additives may be used as the binding material in order to receive the necessary consistency, structure, resistance and other mechanical characteristics. The following are made on the basis of foamglass granulate: Plasters heating, rehabilitating, acoustic, special filling mixtures Lightweight concrete Masonry mixture Concrete for formation housings, products, forms Concrete blocks
