3 SECTION 3 TEST METHOD(S) The specimens were evaluated in accordance with the following: TAS , Impact Test Procedures TAS , Criteria for Testing Impact & Non Impact Resistant Building Envelope Components Using Uniform Static Air Pressure TAS , Criteria for Testing Products Subject to Cyclic Wind Pressure Loading SECTION 4 MATERIAL SOURCE/INSTALLATION Test specimens were provided by the client. Representative samples of the test specimen(s) will be retained by Intertek B&C for a minimum of ten years from the test completion date. The specimen was installed into a Spruce-Pine-Fir 2x6 stud wood test wall. The wall was clad with one layer of 1/2" thick DensGlass Gold exterior gypsum. The gypsum was installed with #8 x 1-5/8" flat head dry wall screws spaced 6" on center about the perimeter of the sheet and 12" on center in the field of the sheet. The gypsum was penetrated with six 4" diameter holes to allow pressurization of the exterior cladding. Installation of the tested product was performed by the client. A 1-5/8" tall starter strip was utilized at the top of the cladding system. Each consecutive panel was interlocked and secured with the installation clips spaced at 24" on center and into a wood stud. Test Specimen #1 utilized fourteen courses while Test Specimens #2, #3, #4 utilized four courses. The bottom and sides of the system utilized a 2-7/16" tall snap-in cover plate to conceal the installation clips. LOCATION ANCHOR DESCRIPTION ANCHOR LOCATION Studs Bottom and sides 1-3/4" wide by 1-1/8" tall aluminum clip with a #10 x 2-1/2" hex head screw with an insulated washer #10 x 1-5/8" flathead screws The anchors were located 24" on center at the bottom of each course at each stud location. The anchors were located 4" from each end of the trim base plates and spaced 8" on center through the base plates and into the side studs bottom plate. 10 SECTION 9 CONCLUSIONS The large missiles impacted each intended target. Each impact location was carefully inspected. No signs of penetration, rupture, or opening after the large missile impact test were observed; as such, each test specimen satisfies the large missile requirements of TAS 201. Upon completion of testing, specimens tested for TAS met the requirements of Section 1626 of the Florida Building Code, Building. No signs of failure were observed in any area of the test specimen during the TAS 202 testing; as such, the test specimen satisfies the requirements of TAS 202. Upon completion of testing, specimens tested for TAS met the requirements of Section 1620 of the Florida Building Code, Building. No signs of failure were observed in any area of the test specimens during the cyclic load test; as such, the test specimens satisfy the cyclic load requirements of TAS 203. Upon completion of testing, specimens tested for TAS met the requirements of Section 1625 of the Florida Building Code, Building. Version: 08/21/17 Page 10 of 23 RT-R-AMER-Test-2816
