2 Test eport No. 100/12 Page 2 1. Test Job The test was carried out based on order of 01 June Subject of Test Determination of airborne sound insulation by laboratory measurement according to ČSN EN ISO Element tested: rolling steel door, type GS60 SI (single) and GS60 SI TWIN (double). For detailed description and drawings see pages Test Sample The testing samples of doors were delivered on November 9, The samples were built into a measuring opening for vertical elements by the company of Somati system Ltd., Troubsko, Czech epublic. 4. K. measuring microphone M Testing Procedure Measuring is performed in sound chambers meeting the requirements of the ČSN ISO standard. The tested element is mounted between the source and receiving room into a measuring opening for vertical elements. A steady sound is generated in the source room with continuous spectrum in the 100 to 5000 Hz band. Mean sound levels of acoustic pressure are measured in the source and receiving room (in db). Sound reduction index is determined by the relation S = L1 - L log A (db), where L 1 is the average sound pressure level in the source room, L 2.. average sound pressure level in the receiving room, S... area of the test specimen in m 2, A... equivalent absorption area in the receiving room in m 2. The size of the equivalent absorption area is determined from reverberation time measured according to the ČSN ISO standard using the Sabine s formula

3 Test eport No. 100/12 Page 3 A = 0,16V T where V is the volume of the receiving room in m 3, T... reverberation time in the receiving room in seconds. A single number value, weighted sound reduction index w is determined from the values of sound reduction index in third-octave bands 100 to 3150 Hz, using the reference curve and method according to ČSN EN ISO Test esults ef. 8 Test eport No. 100/12 Page 8 Description of the Construction of G360 olling Door Specimens from the Somati System for a Sound Attenuation Test 1. Variant A Type Designation GS60 SI A single-sided mounted rolling door designated as GS60 SI. The closure type is based on the standard fire rolling door GS60. The type designation SI indicates it is a door equipped with a sealant to increase the sound insulation of its closure. Construction of the Closure The sections of the closure are made of galvanized steel sheet metal, at a thickness of 0.8mm. The internal filling of the sections is composed of a board of ockwool Taurox NP mineral wool with a specific density of 150kg.m -3 and a thickness of 60mm. The mineral wool board and the sheet metal section are glued together by the adhesive PYOCOL A, min. thickness 1mm. The sheet metal sections are also mutually connected by small MDF boards with a specific density of 750kg.m -3 and a size of 100 x 60 x 18mm; the spacing of these connections is 1m along the section length. The section is 150mm long. The locks of the sections are made by bending the sheet metal, which makes up the surface of the sections, so that the door can be rolled (see the sectional view of the sections). The sections are fixed to a metal swing roller Ø 323.9mm x 4mm by means of steel, one-walled sections of galvanized sheet metal 1mm thick, the height of the sections being 100mm. As a standard, 9 of these uninsulated sections are used to connect the insulated armour of the door to the main roller. These connecting sections are fixed to the main roller with M8x20mm screws spaced 800mm apart. The main roller is fixed on the side brackets by means of a shaft of Ø 40mm via bearings, type UPC 206 STZ BEAINGS. On one of the supporting brackets, there is an electric FS GFA motor which drives the roller through a chain gear. (The door of the tested specimen was mounted without the main roller due to the lack of a lintel; functionally, the aperture was closed as in real situation.) Under the supporting roller, there is an auxiliary metal holding roller Ø 133mm, which is fixed to the side supporting brackets via the shaft with bearings. The supporting brackets are made of steel C- sections and a steel metal plate with a minimum thickness of 3mm. The lateral, vertical guide sections are made of bent metal plates with a minimum thickness of 2mm and with covering sheet metal 1mm thick. The guide sections are divided into two parts and connected with M6x20mm screws. The inner space of the side guide is filled with FENFAST 300 rubber seal strips with a cross-section of 20x20mm. In the upper part of the aperture, there is a horizontal labyrinth which is bent from a steel plate 2mm thick. The inner space of the horizontal labyrinth is filled with FENFAST 300 rubber seal strips with a cross-section of 20x20mm. In the closed position, the steel Z-section engages into this labyrinth and is riveted on the upper, insulated section of the armour. The bottom section is finished by a riveted 60x60mm U-section of a steel plate 2mm thick. The bottom joint between the bottom section and the floor is sealed by two strips of the microporous rubber EPDM SD55. The joint along the perimeter between the side guide armour and the horizontal labyrinth is sealed by a rubber sealant along the entire circumference. The assessed closure construction is mounted onto a massive jamb. The supporting brackets are fixed onto the lintel with min. M8 screws. The vertical guide elements are fixed onto the supporting structure with min. M8 screws at a max. spacing of 580mm. The overhang of the door wings over the supporting structure is min. 152 mm. All supporting and attaching structures and means must be statically analyzed depending on the specific dimensions (weight) of the closure. 2. Variant B Type Designation GS60 SI TWIN A double-sided mounted rolling door designated as GS60 SI TWIN. The closure type is based on the standard fire rolling door GS60. The type designation SI indicates it is a door equipped with a sealant to increase the sound insulation of its closure, TWIN indicates that it is a double variant to

9 Test eport No. 100/12 Page 9 achieve increased sound attenuation. The double variant is mounted from two sides of the aperture so that the distance between the armours of individual doors is at least 500mm. During the test, the required distance between the armours of individual doors was achieved by adding a steel section on the wall. The wall, 250mm thick, was supplemented with a steel section 250mm high of a steel plate 2mm thick. The steel section was additionally insulated by Techrock 60 mineral wool, 50mm thick, in two layers. Closure Construction The construction of individual doors is identical to the GS60 SI type. 3. Description of the Tested Doors The subject of the test was two specimens of rolling steel door closures, of the GS60 SI type. The rolling steel door has been assembled by company Somati system s.r.o., at factory Jihlavská 510/2c, Troubsko, Czech epublic. The assembling parts has been produced by company Metacon bv., Jameswattstraat 14, 2809 PA Gouda, Netherlands. Final installation in laboratory has been done by Somati system s.r.o. The overall dimensions of the specimen were: 2956 x 3255mm (width x height); the size of the aperture 2630 x 2430mm (width x height); the thickness of the sections 60mm. The specimen was built in a rigid, concrete-supported structure, 250mm thick, and in a steel section to secure the required distance of the armours of individual doors. The specimen located in the receiving chamber specimen A The specimen located in the transmission chamber specimen B The test was carried out on three levels: Level 1 (Specimen A) A single specimen test of GS60 SI with the orientation of the specimen installation in the sound reception room. The sound load from the sound source room was therefore from the aperture side. The test result: total attenuation 37 db. Level 2 (Specimens A+B) A double specimen test of GS60 SI TWIN, one door specimen was installed in the sound reception room (see Level 1), the other specimen was installed in the transmission chamber. The test result: total attenuation 55 db. Level 3 (Specimen B) A single specimen test of GS60 SI with the orientation of the specimen installation in the sound source room. The sound load of the specimen from the sound source room was from the door installation side. The test result: total attenuation 36 db.
