The careful preparation of the surface is essential for a good result and a long life. The surface needs to be clean, dry free from any contamination that may in some way affect the adhesion of the membrane. The degree humidity should not exceed 5%. The compressive strength of the support must be at least 25MP, the strength of the cohesive bond of at least 1.5 MPa. The new facilities in Concrete must be dry and it is recommended allow at least 28 days. The hedges and old Impaired and any oily substance, organic and fat must be removed by a machine. The irregularities of the surface must be leveled. Each piece of surface deteriorated must be removed. CAUTION: Do not wash the surface with water. APPLICATION ON CONCRETE 3

4 APPLICATION ON SHEATH PREPARATION OF JOINTS Clean expansion joints and control joints from dust, debris and other contamination. Enlarge and make deeper joints if necessary. the joint should have a depth of mm. the width / depth of the joint should be at least 2:1. Apply Tecsit Polijoint joint sealant on the bottom of the joint. Then with a brush to apply a strip of Tecsit PRO of approximately 200mm wide centered on and in the coupling. Place Tecsit Core wet membrane with a suitable tool and press inside the joint until it is completely soaked and the joint completely covered inside. Then complete saturating the joint with sufficient Tecsit PRO. Finally, place a polyethylene cord sized to fit within of the joint and press in depth. The free space remaining to be filled with sealant Tecsit Polijoint. Take care not to cover and allow to dry for hours REPAIR OF HOLES AND CRACKS To achieve lasting results for waterproofing is required, each carefully paid to existing cracks and joints. Clean cracks in the concrete and cracks dust, debris and other contamination. In First use Tecsit SALER PU primer and allow to dry for 2-3 hours. Fill the cracks with sealant Tecsit Polyjoint R and after applying a layer of Tecsit PRO, 200mm wide centered over all cracks and while it is still wet cover with a strip of Tecsit Core. Press to soak it all and then impregnate the Tecsit Core with PRO Tecsit enough until it is fully covered. Leave the whole hours to dry. PRIMER Choice of PRIMER in different conditions is really important: Support Wet: Tecsit Epox Cement Tixo Supports with high porosity: Tecsit Saler Pu Humid substrate with high porosity: Tecsit Saler Pu Concrete Slippery: Tecsit Saler Pu Supports non-porous surfaces such as glazed tiles: Epoimper or Tecsit Primer T Industrial floors or non-porous mosaics: Tecsit Saler PU Negative pressure or rising damp: Tecsit Epox Cement Tixo Stainless steel, galvanized steel, aluminum Tecsit Floor Fix 84 Wood: No Primer or Tecsit Saler Pu Asphaltic: Tecsit Saler Pu The use of primer depends on the porosity of the base to waterproof. Before applying the first layer of PRO be sure that the base is dry. It is important to apply the first layer of PRO before 72 hours. If it is not possible it is necessary another application of primer. 4

5 WATERPROOFING MEMBRANE Mix well before use. Pour the Tecsit PRO on the surface where it was applied the PRIMER and spread with a roller or brush since when the surface is not covered completely in reason of 0,75-1,25 kg. You can also use a spray dispenser that allows you to save human labor. After hours (not after 48 hours) apply a new layer of Tecsit PRO. The Certification of Tecsit Pro requires an use of 1,5/2,5 kg./sqm, but it is also possible to go on in this way: Product Consumption First hand PRO 500gr/mq Second hand PRO 1000gr/mq Pedonamento saltuario, Thikness c.a. 750 μm First hand PRO 500gr/mq Second hand PRO 800gr/mq Third hand PRO 800gr/mq Pedonamento saltuario, Thikness c.a μm First hand PRO 1500 gr/mq Second hand PRO 1500 gr/mq Pedonamento saltuario, Thikness c.a μm WATERPROOFING ARMIED In situations where you request a traffic duty of waterproofing or resistance strong mechanical stress, it is possible to create a waterproof system armed. On the fresh product and in fact can apply the TECSIT CORE or the glass MAT and then with a clean roller Press lightly the surface for improve contact fabric/product. RECOMMENDATION: We recommend reinforce the entire surface with Tecsit GEO TESSUTO. Use overlapping strips 5-10cm. WARNING: Do not apply more than Tecsit PRO a thickness of 0.6mm per layer. To a great results, the temperature during application must be between 5 C and 35 C, low temperatures retard cure while High temperatures can accelerate it. An high Moisture can affect the final result. FINISH If you want a stable color and a surface friable apply 2 coats of the membrane at high quality Tecsit CARER on Tecsit PRO. The application of Tecsit CARER is required especially if you want a dark color (red, gray, green, etc). If you want a strong surface and abrasion resistant (such as a bridge public walkway, parking, etc) apply 2 layers of Tecsit CARER. For the procedures to application of high quality membranes do reference to the technical instructions or contact the Our department of research and development. VEHICULAR WATERPROOFING Tecsit Pro's versatility allows waterproofings suitable for vehicular traffic. Following the priming support is need to apply two different drafts from at least 1 kg/mq per coat with non-woven fabric Tecsit Core interposed. After applying the second coat with the wet on wet technique you must apply, a refusal, aggregate grain size specification. Starting the day after the aggregate does not contact with the resin is removed and after careful cleaning You can apply the first coat of Tecsit COV 420 because of about 250/300 gr/m2. The day following you can proceed with the drafting of the second coat of Tecsit COV420 which provides the same quantity than before. 5
