ALL 90 SWEEPS WILL HAVE A MINIMUM RADIUS OF 38 UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED. 10. MAXIMUM PULLING TENSION ON ANY CABLE IS 600 LBS UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED 11. A PULLING EYE MUST BE USED AND CORRECTLY ATTACHED TO A 600 LB. BREAK-AWAY SWIVEL UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED GENERAL NOTES: 1. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING DE. FOR ALL FLAGGING OPERATIONS ON STATE ROADS, WHERE FLAGGING OPERATIONS CLOSE LANES, THE CONTRACTOR MUST NOTIFY THE DELDOT TOC FOR THE DISTRICT IN WHICH THE WORK IS BEING PERFORMED TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE AND PRIOR TO STOPPING TRAFFIC. LOCAL MUNICIPALITIES MAY ALSO REQUIRE NOTICE. GENERAL NOTES (CONTINUED) 4. ALL WORK SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH OSHA REGULATIONS. PARTICULAR EMPHASIS HAS BEEN PLACED ON THE REQUIREMENT TO SHORE OR SLOPE ALL EXCAVATIONS GREATER THAN 4 DEEP. 5. EXCAVATIONS SHALL BE LEFT OPEN OVERNIGHT ONLY IF ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY AND WITH THE REQUIRED APPROVAL OF INVOLVED STATE AND LOCAL AGENCIES. ANY EXCAVATION LEFT OPEN OVERNIGHT MUST BE SUITABLY MARKED AND BARRICADED. TEMPORARY FENCES OR 3/4 STEEL PLATING SHOULD BE USED TO PROTECT THE GENERAL PUBLIC AND VEHICULAR TRAFFIC AND INGRESS AND EGRESS TO DRIVE IN BUSINESSES DURING CONSTRUCTION. 6. ALL KNOWN UNDERGROUND OBSTRUCTIONS ARE MARKED ON THE PLAN AND PROFILE DRAWINGS, HOWEVER OTHER UTILITY OBSTRUCTIONS MAY EXIST. BEFORE THE COMMENCEMENT OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY THE EXACT LOCATION AND DEPTH OF ALL OBSTRUCTIONS SHALL BE DETERMINED BY THE CONTRACTOR. PARTICULAR ATTENTION SHALL BE PAID TO DRAINAGE STRUCTURES AND EXTENSIVE BURIED TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNAL WIRE NETWORK. IT WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE THESE ACTIVITIES. DAMAGE AND RESTORATION OF ANY UTILITIES OR ANY OTHER OBSTRUCTION WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. 7. NO OPEN FLAME, TORCH, OR LIGHTED MATERIALS SHALL BE BROUGHT NEAR AN OPEN MANHOLE. THIS RULE SHALL BE OBSERVED EVEN THOUGH TEST MAY INDICATE THAT THE AIR IS FREE OF COMBUSTIBLE GAS. MANHOLES WILL BE CONTINUOUSLY VENTILATED AND MONITORED DURING ACTIVITY. 8. CONFINED SPACE PROCEDURES FOR ALL MANHOLE ENTRY, WHERE SPACE IS DEEMED CONFINED SPACE BY OSHA DEFINITION, SHALL BE APPLIED. 9. THE PROJECT OWNER AND IT S REPRESENTATIVE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP CONSTRUCTION IF, AT ANY TIME, IT DEEMS THE WORK TO BE UNSAFE, INADEQUATE OR HAZARDOUS. WORK SHALL NOT BE RESUMED UNTIL AGREEABLE MEASURE SHAVE BEEN TAKEN TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. 10. ANY AND ALL IMPROVEMENTS SUCH AS ASPHALT OR CONCRETE PAVEMENT, CURBS, GUTTERS, WAL, DRAINAGE DITCHES, EMBANKMENTS, SHRUBS, TREES, GRASS SOD ETC., (IF DAMAGED) SHALL BE RESTORED TO ORIGINAL OR BETTER CONDITION. 11. EQUIPMENT TYPES SPECIFIED HEREIN (I.E. BACKHOE, TRENCHER, ETC.) ARE SUGGESTIONS ONLY AND ARE NOT INTENDED AS REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHOULD ANTICIPATE HAND TRENCHING AS REQUIRED BY OTHER UTILITY OWNERS. 12.
