1 INEGRAED BUILDING SYSEMS AND FUURE SCENARIO Northeastern University MArch II Spring eamed with Fuyang Shan Supervised by Michael LeBlanc Considering the future development of diverse urban fabric of Boston, the issue of Olympic and post-olympic is what we are going to deal with. Along with the sea level rise problem, these kinds of event influence urban development. Modern architectures stand in the ongoing dynamic process of human activity and environment changing. What we need to do is not only dealing with the problems for now, but fully considering the flexibility and resilience of the building for future use. Inspired by Kahn s served and servant spaces strategy, we are trying to find an integrated solution which solves problems mechanically and programmatically.

2 Dorchester Ave. SCENARIO PLANNING SCENARIO PLANNING he 100 Acres Master Plan envisions an active, mixed-use neighborhood in Boston anchored by eleven acres of public open space and over five million square feet of development. he comprehensive plan is the culmination of a five year collaboration between architects, planners, residents, property owners, City and State agencies and other stakeholders. ADD Inc established urban planning and architectural guidelines to enable various owners to maximize land value while achieving the City of Boston s goals. he plan envisages a dynamic and diverse architectural fabric that contrasts new construction with existing early 20th century warehouses while providing pedestrian access to the water, new open spaces and ample parking for the proposed program. By weaving a mix of uses with pedestrian-friendly streetscapes, the 100 Acres Master Plan advances an urban vision for this emerging neighborhood. raffic Advantages Future Development Post Olympics + Olympics Hotel + Market Office + High-tech City Research Center Park Street Sea Level in the future 4 Point Channel( For Now) 1 Foundry street Downtown Crossing Boylston Chinatown Another Entrance of Red Line Hotel (In the future) Starbucks with the Red Line Gillette Offices ( GYM on the first floor) W Broadway 2 ufts Medical Center I-90 Dorchester Ave. I-90 E 1 Foundry street Berkeley Street W Broadway Broadway Station W Broadway 2 W 2nd Street B 1 I-93 8 Mins Walking Distance Macallen Building Berkeley Street W 4th Street Dorchester Ave. B Andrew 2
