Introduction Performance requirements (EN vs GOST R) Low cost adhesives (C0 class) EN GOST R Requirement Initial tensile strength N/mm 2 Normal setting adhesives (C1 class) Initial tensile strength Tensile adhesion strength after water immersion Tensile adhesion strength after heat aging Tensile adhesion strength after freeze-thaw cycle Open time(tensile adhesion strength), (after not less than 20min) Fast setting adhesives 0.5 N/mm N/mm N/mm N/mm N/mm 2 Premium class Early tensile adhesion strength (after not more than 24h) N/mm 2 Open time(tensile adhesion strength), (after not less than 20min) 0.5 N/mm 2 Others : as normal setting adhesives Optional characteristics Slip 0.5mm Additional characteristics (C2 class) High initial tensile strength 1.0 N/mm 2 High tensile adhesion strength after water immersion 1.0 N/mm 2 High tensile adhesion strength after heat aging 1.0 N/mm 2 High tensile adhesion strength after freeze-thaw cycle 1.0 N/mm 2 Additional characteristics Extended open time(tensile adhesion strength), (after not less than 30min) 0.5 N/mm 2

NEW MECELLOSE Concept of new MECELLOSE <Key point> Water retention Additional thickening Visual open time Slip resistance Adhesion strength

NEW MECELLOSE Performance balance High water demand Better slip resistance Extended open time Excellent workability Normal CTA Premium CTA

NEW MECELLOSE Basic design of tile cement formulation Item C0 class (Low cost) C1 class (Normal) C2 class (Premium) Cement (%) 25~30 (CEM 32.5R) 30~35 (CEM 32.5R/42.5R) 35~40 (CEM 42.5R/52.5N) Redispersible polymer powder(%) 0 1~3 3~6 Calcium formate(%) 0 0~0.8 0~0.8 MECELLOSE (%) 0.2~ ~ ~0.6 Water demand Low Medium High Required performance to MECELLOSE - Water retention - Wetting capability - Water retention - Additional thickening - Long open time - Slip resistance - Adhesion strength - Additional thickening - Long open time - Slip resistance - Adhesion strength - Less retardation of cement hydration

Experiment Test conditions Temperature: 23±2 Humidity: 50±5% Mixing condition: according to EN1348 Kinds of cellulose ether : FMC-23021(New grade), Market product Test methods Tests were conducted according to the EN listed below. <List of test methods> EN Standard Content EN1308 EN1346 EN1347 EN1348 Slip (Sag resistance) Open time (Open time strength) Wetting capability Tensile strength (Adhesion strength)

Experiment Visual Open Time Type P1 tile (water absorption 15±3%) were used. At the same conditions, FMC showed better visual open time than market product. Time(min) Market product FMC-23021

Experiment Slip resistance On the concrete panel, 200g tiles were used. FMC shows superior slip resistance than market product. FMC g +550g +250g +100g +150g +50g +300g +450g +350g +400g +500g Slip Market product +200g +250g +150g +100g +50g Slip

Experiment Tensile adhesion strength (open time) For open time adhesion strength, absorbing tiles were used. And it was measured after 28days. According to the result below, FMC showed higher open time adhesion strength than market product. 1,5 Market product FMC Tensile adhesion strength(mpa) 1,2 0,9 0,6 0,3 <Visual open time> Open time(min)

Experiment Tensile adhesion strength Test condition : 23, RH 50% Tile type V1, water absorption 0.2% by mass with (50±1)mm (50±1)mm According to the result below, FMC showed higher adhesion strength than market product. <Storage conditions> 1,5 Market product FMC Initial drying Wetting - Initial : 28days S.C (standard condition) Tensile adhesion strength(mpa) 1,2 0,9 0,6 0,3 - Wet : 7days S.C + 21days water immersion - Heat : 14days S.C + 14days heat aging at 70 0 Initial Heat Wet Storage conditions Heating
