1 March 26, 2015 ADDENDUM #3 NWIT Front Street Parkade Demolition and Rehabilitation New Westminster, BC This addendum modifies the Invitation to Tender only as noted: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Please see Structural Addendum No.2 from Dialog (3 pages following) Please see Electrical Addendum E-01 from Integral Group (2 pages following) APPROVED ALTERNATE Alternate product in place of the specified Traffic Deck Membrane SikaMonoTop623 concrete patch repair is acceptable for overhead and vertical repair applications. ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS RECEIVED Q1 In Appendix A section item C, says to remove and replace existing traffic control signs. The only sign shown on the drawings is an antique alley sign. I do not see any other signs shown on the drawings. Provide a list of signs to be removed and replaced and how they are mounted, so that this item can be priced properly. A1 Existing traffic signs are mounted on the concrete parkade support columns. The contractor is responsible to inventory all existing signs, and install on steel sign support posts at their existing locations, following parkade demolition. Q2 A2 Q3 A3 Is the existing concrete curb and median on the north side columns of Front Street and the existing concrete curb on the south side columns of Front Street to be re-installed by us following demolition? Concrete curb and median will not be re-installed following demolition. Concrete curb at south side to be reinstated on south side where removed for column and footing demolition, and to be repaired or replaced where damaged by demolition. Is the restoration of Front Street backfill, curbing, and asphalt following column demolition and pile cap removal included in the scope of work? If so, which payment item is this included under? Restoration of Front St backfill, curbing (except for median curb) is included in the scope of work. Payment will be made under the pertinent items shown in the Civil Schedule of Quantities and Prices. Document #670105

Pile cap information shown on original documents available from Owner, refer to from City of New Westminster Purchasing sent on March 20, Are we able to close and use the parking lot on the south side of the rail tracks for removing the pedestrian bridge? A portion of the parking area may be blocked off during the demo Work. Q6 Please confirm if the existing guardrails around the parkade need to be salvaged. Drawing SD-2.1 shows the existing guardrail to be salvaged from grid 1 to 28A. Please clarify which handrails (i.e. stairs handrails) are to be salvaged. The drawings do not show this. A6 See Dialog Addendum No. 2 Q7 Do the existing parking pay stations need to be salvaged and relocated? A7 See Electrical Addendum E-01 Q8 There is a BC Hydro transformer on the northwest corner of Begbie Street and Front Street. Will this need to be protected or disconnected/relocated? A8 See Electrical Addendum E-01 Q9 A9 Which line item in the schedule of values is the asbestos abatement work to be priced under? PART 2- Item 2- Deconstruction of parkade office Q10 Are we able to close the Army and Navy parking lot to remove the pedestrian bridge? A10 Partial closure only can be provided, and for four (4) weeks only. The pedestrian bridge is already closed, and not used for public access. Q11 I have noticed a type A and B repair shown on the drawings, however there is no mention in the specifications of what type A and type B repair include. Can you please advise? A11 Type A refers to Details 1, 2, 3 on drawing SR-1.0. Type B refers to Details 6, 7 on drawing SR-1.0 Q12 I have noticed optional items in the spec, Page 2 - Restoration Following Removal of Columns and Footings. I have not noticed an area to include these options in the tender documents. Please specify how we are to price and include these optional items. A12 Refer to payment items included in Civil Schedule of Quantities and Prices. Payment for these items will be made as described in the Civil Supplementary Measurement and Payment clauses included in the Tender Documents Q13 Section , concrete reinforcing, says to allow for a contingency of 10,000 lbs of reinforcing. In what pay item should this be included? Does this amount allow for all reinforcing required for the job? Does this also include the separate prices Appendix B for items 1 and 2? 3 NWIT Addendum #3 March 26, 2015 Page 3 of 3 Q14 Part 1 (Rehabilitation/Restoration), items 5 and 9 are called up as concrete deck surface repair 2 ½ to 3 ½ deep on the cantilevers and the slab is 6 to 3 thick, removing as little as 2½ will leave an unsalvageable layer of concrete between a ½ and 3 ½ thick soffit cantilevering off the side of the slab band. Shouldn t this area be defined as remove and replace? A14 Provide rate for through slab removal as required in Separate Price Item 2.0 Q15 Pay item 36 (Replace all deck drain piping), is there a lin ft length to that pay item. Is that how this item is being paid? How much of this is to be replaced? A15 Piping is shown on original drawings available from Owner. Lump Sum pay item. Piping to be replaced is from road level to Deck A concrete level, including all vertical and horizontal runs. Q16 Section c Steel Fence this is the new median fence, however the detail on civil drawing C-002 is a little vague. A16 New steel fence to match existing fence. Q17 Can you confirm the size of the pickets on the fence. And the desired finish, i.e.: galvanized, powder coated? A17 Pickets to be as shown on fence detail on C002. Fence components to be galvanized and painted (colour to be specified by City). Q18 Since we are doing this work for the city, are they picking up the costs for permits for fire hydrants, sidewalk use closures, or hoarding and occupancy permit? If not can you supply the pricing for these items? We understand that the contractor would pick up costs for any materials (Backflow preventer etc.). A18 The Contractor must apply for applicable permits, the City will waive the fees. There is a backflow device deposit fee ($1500) which will be charged and returned upon safe return of the device. The cost of all work contained herein is to be included in the Contract Sum. The following revisions supersede the information contained in the original drawings and specifications issued for the above named project to the extent referenced and shall become part thereof.
