1 Projects Upgrades in Multipurpose Building 1300 In order to meet the needs of the building s three distinct uses administrative gatherings, recreational program space, and as a general venue and event area the upgrades to the Multipurpose Room focus on providing an enhanced acoustical treatment and experience, badminton striping and equipment, and an overall increase in user satisfaction. Creating a common environment among these uncommon activities leads to the introduction of zones by means of floor patterning or ribbons as a unifying architectural feature. The sport striping, the meeting areas, and the distribution of different zones in the multipurpose room emerge as a singular user experience. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Improve Entry and Upgrade Safety Measures at Student Parking Lot / Upgrade Landscape and Hardscape / Miscellaneous Infrastructure Improvements The improved entry will provide a meaningful, drought tolerant, low maintenance and inspired environment for the community and students, and offer greater connectivity from this area to the main campus. Upgraded safety measures within the lot will create a facility that considers pedestrians as naturally as it does vehicles. Replace and repair landscape and hardscape in select areas that have become safety and aesthetic issues and need to be improved for pedestrian circulation, vehicular access, and exterior activity areas. The design solutions will consider the natural forms, intuitive wayfinding and exterior use patterns of the campus. Upgrade storm drain and various underground and exposed utilities and infrastructure. This project will either mitigate or negate the backflow by installing backwater valves at a storm drain that connects to Canoas Creek. Storm drainage between Buildings 200 and 600 has tree root blockage so piping will be upgraded to prevent root entry. Soccer field flooding issue will be resolved by re-grading, adding fill, or adding new drain inlet. If underground piping is located under pavements to be demolished as part of the Landscape/Hardscape work, it will be assessed and replaced as needed. Delivery Method: Design-Bid-Build Synthetic Turf Field Replacement (Districtwide Project) Synthetic Turf was first installed at East Side High Schools athletic fields during the summer of 2011 and The recommended product life of the turf installed is 5-6 years. This project is a scheduled replacement of the synthetic turf at Andrew P. Hill, James Lick, Oak Grove, Piedmont Hills, Santa Teresa and Yerba Buena. New synthetic turf will be installed at Foothill. Delivery Method: TBD Hardscape Improvements (Districtwide Project) Replace and repair hardscape in select areas that have become safety and aesthetic issues and need to be improved for vehicular access and exterior activity areas, such as play courts. The design solutions will consider the natural forms, intuitive wayfinding and exterior use patterns of the campus. Improvements will be made at Andrew Hill, Santa Teresa and Yerba Buena. Delivery Method: TBD
