AQUAFOIL

INTRODUCTION AQUAFOIL is a flexible synthetic membrane in plastified vinyl chloride (PVC-P), obtained through a co extrusion process and indicated for the waterproofing of tunnels and underground structures. The membrane is manufactured in two different colours in order to identify the damages on the membrane during application.good mechanical properties, resistance to microorganisms present in soil. Good resistance to low temperatures AQUAFOIL membranes are installed in compliance with the specifications and details described in the technical manual as published by Aquaflex waterproofing technology. Roofing and waterproofing systems using Aquafoil membranes are installed by applicators trained and approved by Aquaflex.

APPLICATION. FIELDS OF APPLICATION Roofing of non-accessible roofs on various substrates:. concrete, steeldeck and wood Waterproofing of parking decks and garden roofs. Basement tanking and tunnel waterproofing. Lining of ponds, canals, reservoirs and landfills. All detalis (corners, skirtngs, pipes, vents,...). CHEMICAL RESISTANCE AQUAFOIL V membrane is of polyolefinic nature i.e. has an intrinsic chemical stability. This implies the membrane can be in contact with many substances of either acid or basic type while maintaining its properties.long term exposure to highly aggressive agents, especially at elevated temperature, requires a specific case by case evaluation. Due to its nature the membrane is resistant to the contact with elements having acid and alcaline contents without loosing its properties.

APPLICATION Foundations and tunnels For basement tanking, the AQUAFOIL membrane is usually loose-laid on the horizontal and fully adhered on the vertical. In tunnels, the membrane is welded to FPA discs secured to the substrate. Mechanical protection is recommended prior to backfilling.in foundations it is recommended to be used loosely laid in conjunction with water stops, inserted in the concrete and welded to the membrane. Exceptional resistance to puncture. Very low water vapor transmission rate. Resists to most soil contaminants. Flexibility allows for easier installation. Available in thickness up to 2.0 mm Water conveyance An ideal material for canals and ponds, the AQUAFOIL membrane can simply be loose-laid on the substrate and secured at the perimeter (trench or mechanically fixed profile). A protective layer (geotextile) may be required, according to specific conditions. Elongates when subject to out of plan stress. Highest surface friction allows for steeper side slopes. Exceptional resistance to puncture. Large prefabricated panels available. Waste management Critical water applications Specific water contact properties make the ST/DW membrane suitable for applications such as water reservoirs and fish hatcheries. Potable water approval from BS 6920:1.7. Low coefficient of thermal expansion reduces seam stress. Low temperature flexibility prevents damage due to brittleness. Fleece-backed membrane available for fully adhered application Light blue color provides adequate aesthetics. The EPA 9090 test results have demonstrated FPA membrane provides high level of performance as required by such critical applications. Both bottom liner and cover are loose-laid. Adequate design, including drainage, leakage collection and gas ventilation is recommended. Resists a wide range of chemical agents. Excellent moisture and gas barrier characteristics. High melting point means suitability for high operating temperatures. Large prefabricated panels reduce installation time.

ACCESORIES The Ermetic PVC drain connector is designed to connect prefabricated synthetic PVC roofing felts with rain water drains.they are fitted with a smooth flange to improve adhesion to the prefabricated PVC roofing felts; they have two rings on the shank which acts as drain trap seals between the drain connector and the rain water drain.it is manufactured with a highly esilient material to give it a long lasting tight seal. The corner joints serve to make the laying of waterproof coverings near corners and edges easier and quicker. By using these joints you will not only provide an efficient waterproof barrier but also create an attractive effect and save a considerable amount of time. The tapered joint serves to cover the base of the slot-in aerial or allow any alectrical cables or other items to pass through.resistant to deterioration by the sun, ozone and other agents or chemicals normally found in the atmosphere. They have excellent flexibility even at low temperatures.the mechanical properties aremaintained in the long term. The corner fittings are designed to connect synthetic PVC roofing felts with rainwater drains placed close to a wall. They have a square or rectangular section for a systematic water drainage.the flange is slightly inclined to the shank to aid a slanted installation of the connector. They have a smooth flange to improve the adhesion to synthetic PVC roofing; they are available in two versions either with a 65x100 mm rectangular section or with a 100x100 mm square section. COMPARTIMENTATION WATERSTOP The special type of PVC means that our WATERSTOP can be used in concrete structures that are subjected to temperatures ranging from - 30º to + 70º C thereby ensuring excellent resistance not only to aging and chemical attack in alkaline environments but also to brackish water or acid solutions.

ACCESORIES INJECTION PIPE The material used to produce the injection pipe in PVC is resistant to deterioration by the sun, ozone and other agents or chemicals normally found in the atmosphere.the mechanical properties are maintained in the long term.the injection pipe has a flange to improve the adhesion to the prefabbricated felts and a central shank which is divided in 3 parts.. The injection pipe has to be cut where the inside diameter of the shank corresponds with the outside diameter of the element which has to pass throught it.to improve injection pipe adhesion during the insertion of the element, it should be lubricated with soapy water or oil. If it is not enough the injection pipe can be heated using a normal hot air blower which will be used in a second time to weld the injection pipe to the synthetic felts. We recommend to clean carefully the parts before adhesion The connectors are equipped with a flange for the welding of the waterproofing roofing, and by a shank for attaching connectors for the injection of resin or for the intake of air, to ensure expert division into compartments. The tunnel discs are designed to fix firstly the diffuser felting to the tunnel wall. Once the discs are fixed to the wall, the adhesion of the PVC waterproof sheet to the discs themselves may be carried out with a suitable hot air blower. The discs are fixed with a special gun with an explosive charge. They are spaced at about cm from disc to disc. The whole surface of the ribbed discs must be glued to the PVC sheet so that the best possible adhesion is obtained to resist pressure from buildups of water.the disc is ribbed to make it more rigid and improve the adhesion of the PVC sheet even on very uneven surfaces. The disc is also shaped with an central inset to take a washer for the fixing nail.
