Work Progress: Work on the new building is coming to completion. Mechanical systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection are being placed on line and troubleshot in anticipation of full operation. Classroom work is complete excluding window treatments, projectors and final floor waxing. Corridors are also complete excluding lockers which are anticipated to be installed by the third week in June. School administration personnel are moving into their new space. The kitchen/cafeteria final equipment installation is ongoing and anticipated to be completed by 7/1/15. The auditorium ceiling is being installed and wood stage flooring is expected to commence the week of 6/8/15. The band room and fine arts areas are awaiting floor finishes prior to their completion. The competition gymnasium bleachers are completed and final floor finishing is underway. The auxiliary gym is currently being used to stage the relocated school furniture and equipment. Decommissioning of the existing school is underway. Salvaged materials have been removed and asbestos abatement prior to demolition is approximately 60% complete. Utilities are in the process of being disconnected and full building demolition is anticipated to commence the week of 6/15/15. Overall the project is on schedule and LCI anticipates new classroom and support spaces availability for teachers and staff on 8/1/15 with main parking lot work continuing to completion in the fall of 2015.
