3 ADDENDUM NO. 1 July 19, 2011 RE: MMI Preparatory School Library PROJECT NO: FROM: TO: 4 th Floor, 409 Lackawanna Ave. Scranton, Pennsylvania Prospective Bidders This Addendum forms a part of the Contract and modifies the original Bidding Documents dated 6/17/11. Please acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in your Bid Proposal. This Addendum consists of six (6) pages. CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS 1. TOC, Division 22 Plumbing Add Section "Drinking Fountains and Water Coolers". 2. Section Interior Finish Carpentry Revise as follows: Add the following to Section 1.3, Action Submittals: D. Shop Drawings: Show fabrication of wood beam/arch at coffered ceiling of Library Room 103 at the four locations indicated on the First Floor RCP on Drawing A Include details of cuts, connections, splices and other pertinent data as it relates to these ceiling members. 2. Indicate type, size and length of fasteners including bolts, lag screws, etc. required for the connection of the beam/arch construction to the ceiling.

4 CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS 3. Coordinate the shop drawings related to the wood beam/arch with the cold-formed metal stud ceiling construction shop drawings and manufacturer as required for the self weight dead loading imparted by the beam/arch construction at the ceiling. The show drawings shall be prepared under the supervision of a competent engineering personnel, licensed by the state in which the construction takes place with regards to the connections of the wood beam/arch to the cold-formed metal stud ceiling framing. 4. Prepare original shop drawings. The use of the Architect s drawings as a base for photographic of other reproduction for shop drawings will not be permitted. Show clearly the size and location of wood members in relation to the cold-formed metal stud ceiling framing. Show each field connection required to affix/attach the wood framing to the ceiling structure. The shop drawings shall be prepared in conformance with the best standards of the construction industry. Delete Subparagraph 2.3 A and replace with the following: A. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, available manufacturers offering products that may be incorporated into the work include and are limited to the following: 1. Virtual timbers. 2. Whalen Berez Group, Jim Whalen, phone number (732) Change Subparagraph 2.3 B.1 from "As Selected by Architect" to "Planed". Revise Subparagraph 2.3 C to read "Pre-finish beams and corbels in water-based stain in color as selected by Architect."

5 CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS Add new Subparagraph 2.3 D as follows: "D. After applying stain finish, apply three (3) coats of Class A fire retardant sealer to concealed (interior side) and exposed (exterior side) surfaces of beams and corbels. Sealer shall be Fire Poly 100 as manufactured by Flame Safe Chemical Corp., Fort-Worth, TX (800) , or approved equal." 3. Section Sanitary Waste and Add to Division 2 Products, new subparagraphs as Vent Piping follows: 2.7 PVC PIPE AND FITTINGS A. Solid-Wall PVC Pipe: ASTM D 2665, drain, waste and vent. 1. PVC Socket Fittings: ASTM D 2665, socket type, made to ASTM D 3311, drain, waste and vent patterns. B. Solvent Cement and Adhesive Primer: 1. Use PVC solvent cement that has a VOC content of 510 g/l or less when calculated according to 40 CFR 59, Subpart D (EPA Method 24). 2. Use adhesive primer that has a VOC content of 550 g/l or less when calculated according to 40 CFR 59, Subpart D (EPA Method 24). 2.8 PIPING APPLICATIONS A. Underground, solid, waste and vent piping NPS-4 and smaller shall be: 1. Solid wall PVC pipe, PVC socket fittings and solvent-cemented joints. 2. Cellular-core, Sewer and Srain Series, PVC pipe; PVC socket fittings; and solventcemented joints. 2.9 PIPING INSTALLATION A. Install PVC soil and waste drainage and vent piping according to ASTM D B. Install underground PVC soil and waste drainage piping according to ASTM D C. Do not enclose, cover or put piping into operation until it is inspected and approved by authorities having jurisdiction.

A-101 Add the following General Note: "Lockers in Room 101 to be provided by Owner. Not in Contract." 3. A-102, Roof Plan Delete the following Note: "Gas Fireplace Vent". 4. A-200 Delete fireplace air terminal at roof. See reissued A-605 attached. A-200 Revise signage above Main Entrance to read as follows: Joseph A. Turri `45 Library & Learning Center A-200 Add the following Note to South Elevation 4 / A-200: Second Floor existing brick area between new roof and existing building roof eave along Column Line 6 to be treated with water repellent Chem.-Treate BSM400 as specified in Section A-200 Add General Note: Height of foundation wall brick ledge to be coordinated with final site grading. Contractor to coordinate and review with Architect prior to foundation work. 5. A-401, First Floor RCP Add the following General Note: Contractor to provide reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP) that indicates coordination and location of lights, sprinkler heads and HVAC supply and returns for Vestibule 102 and Library 103. Contractor to also mark these locations in field for Architect and Owner to review prior to installation.

8 CHANGES TO DRAWINGS 6. A-601 Delete the following Note - "3-5/8 metal stud framing" near library ceiling and replace with the following: "3-5/8" metal stud ceiling framing (18 gauge minimum) spaced 16" o.c. maximum." 7. A-603 Add the following Note to Wall Section 1 / A-603: "Provide flashing w/ weep holes above window, Typical". 8. A-604 Add the following Note to Wall Section 3 / A-604: "Paint composite columns, capitals and bases. Color to be selected by Architect." 9. A-605 For Wall Section 2 / A-605, delete vertical fireplace air terminal at roof and replace with side air terminal. Drawing A-605reissued with this Addendum. 10. P-201 Demolish sanitary piping below Room 101. See Sketch SK P-1 included with this Addendum. P-201 Add the following Notes: "1. The Plumbing Contractor shall be permitted to install ASTM D 2665 PVC pipe for the below grade sanitary and storm systems." "2. In Room "Stairs ST-1", 6" RWC DN and 2" gas up to roof to be concealed in walls." 11. S-102, Partial Ceiling Framing Plan For Note "CFM ceiling joists not shown for clarity; see Architectural Drawings for joist size and spacing", add the following "CFM Contractor to coordinate as required with Specification Section regarding the design of suspended CFM ceiling joists.
