2 Labeling on Packaging Citation: 16 CFR If the sample is not a consumer commodity then the result of this test is reported for reference only; the result is not rated. As applicable to consumer commodities: 1) Statement of identity. 2) Name and place of business of manufacturer, packer or distributor. Place of business shall include street address, city, state and ZIP code. The street address may be omitted if it is shown in a current city directory or telephone directory. 3) Net quantity of the contents in terms of weight, measure, or numerical count. No exaggerative words are allowed in relation to describing the unit of weight or mass, measure or count (i.e., "giant quart," "jumbo liter," "full gallon," "when packed," "minimum," etc.). 4) Statements of weight or mass (if shown on label) shall be in terms of both avoirdupois pound and ounce and SI metric kilograms, grams, or milligrams. Plastic Bag Suffocation Warning If bag thickness is 1 mil or greater, report as PASS. If bag thickness is <1 mil, in order to establish compliance (pass/fail), the bag's dimensions need to be considered in conjunction with the labeling specifications of the individual jurisdictions as follows: CALIFORNIA - You must label if: 1) Thickness is an average less than one mil, and 2) Size of opening is larger than 25 square inches or a capacity of more than 125 cubic inches. CHICAGO, IL - requirement is for polyethylene bag, other than one used for food products weighing not more than five pounds, intended for household. MASSACHUSETTS & NEW YORK - You must label if: 1) Thickness is less than one mil, and 2) Size of opening has a diameter of seven inches or more, and 3) Length and width when added together totals 25 inches or more. RHODE ISLAND - You must label if: 1) Thickness is less than one mil, and 2) Size of opening is larger than five inches in diameter. VIRGINIA - You must label Citation: California Business & Professions Code, Sec dry cleaning bags if: 1) Thickness is less than one mil, and 2) Length totals twenty-five inches or more. CALIFORNIA & RHODE ISLAND , Chicago, IL Municipal Code C , MA 105 CMR Total length and width of: <30 inches = 10 point type minimum = or > 30 inches and < 40 inches = 14 point type minimum = or > 40 inches , 10 NY ADC 12.12, RI Code & VA Code and < 60 inches = 18 point type minimum = or > 60 inches = 24 point type minimum. Label shall appear on both sides of bag. If total length and total width is more than 40 inches (when added), label shall be repeated at 20 inch intervals. NEW YORK - Total length and width of: = or > 25 inches and < 30 inches = 10 point type minimum = or > 30 inches and < 40 inches = 14 point type minimum = or > 40 inches and < 60 inches = 18 point type minimum = or > 60 inches = 24 point type minimum. VIRGINIA - 36 point type minimum. Plastic bags in California, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, and Virginia require the following warning: "WARNING: To avoid danger of suffocation, keep this plastic bag away from babies and children. Do not use this bag in cribs, beds, carriages or play pens. This bag is not a toy." If the warning is required based on thickness and opening size, but not present, then the test shall be reported as fail. If a warning is present, report the warning listed on the bag. Document Review Product Documentation Review TS Edition 5.0 / Lab In-house method Point of Purchase documentation, where present, must be written in English or any other languages required by the client and/or destination country (ies). Any English verbiage must be clear and concise so that the average consumer can assemble and operate the product. The documentation is verified that the required languages are present, as required, but the verbiage is not translated.

3 Performance Drop Test With a smartphone dummy in place, the phone case sample is dropped randomly four times from a height of 3 feet (0.91 m) onto a concrete floor with vinyl covering Product shall have no sharp points or sharp edges and shall function normally after four drops from a height of 3 feet (0.91 m) onto a concrete vinyl-covered floor. Modification : Reported as pass/fail. Note: A smartphone dummy shall be placed in the case when conducting this test. Record the dummy weight for test. Fit Test Place a smartphone dummy into the phone case. The phone case shall fit as intended, and have no damage during fitting. Remove the smartphone dummy, and repeat the fit test for a total of three times. Note: Test for overall fit of case to phone including alignment of holes and slots for buttons. Salt Spray Test: 5% Salt Solution, 12 hours High Humidity & High Temperature Test ASTM B117 (Modified) Year: 2011 TS Edition 7.0 / Lab In-House Method Modification: Changed from 24 hours to 12 hours. Remove the weight and place the unit lying in vertical position (plates) into the oven with temperature kept at 50 C for 4 hours. In Perspiration stage: Test procedure will be same as dry but crockmeter test cloth with test specimen will be placed in a 9 cm diameter, 2 cm deep petri dish. Add freshly prepared perspiration solution to a depth of 1.5 cm in the petri dish. Soak the test specimen in the solution for 30 ± 2 min with occasional agitation and squeezing to ensure complete wetting. Other test procedure is same as above. Additional testing Formaldehyde: Spot Test (textiles only) AATCC 94 The presence or absence of formaldehyde resin is reported as "positive" for present and "negative" for absent. Formaldehyde: Quantitative * (If spot test is failed, JIS L1041 needs to proceed. If quantitative test fails then all additional colors should be tested for spot test first, then quantitative if spot test fails.) Lab Notes: Applicable to goods specified in the schedule included with the regulation. For both NAFTA and non-nafta goods, the methods of marking listed in Appendix E to D-Memo D all constitute examples of acceptable marking methods. This list is not exhaustive; CBSA will generally accept "any reasonable method of marking that will remain on the container or its good (where applicable) until the product reaches the ultimate purchaser or recipient."
