M E E T R O U N D Y O U R T H E Basement Walls With Single Bubble Foil, Method #2 Quick, easy and safe to install Provides reflective insulation for radiant heat loss or gain Blocks up to 97% of radiant heat during the winter 100% vapor proof - creates a vapor barrier 1) Fasten 2x4 wall against concrete foundation using usual methods. 2) Attach rfoil Single Bubble Foil horizontally to 2x4 s, stapling it 1 back into the wall cavity, as shown. 3) Seal all seams with 2 Reflective Foil Tape (All tape should be applied using a flat edge taping tool to ensure good adhesion). 4) Attach drywall or paneling as usual.
M E E T R O U N D Y O U R T H E Basement Walls With Single Bubble Foil, Method #1 Quick, easy and safe to install Provides reflective insulation for radiant heat loss or gain Blocks up to 97% of radiant heat during the winter 100% vapor proof - creates a vapor barrier (It is important to remember that rfoil works best when there is a 1 airspace between rfoil and another material, like drywall or paneling. Since it is important to block heat leaving a building or house, the 1 airspace should be closest to the inside). 1) Attach 2x2 furring strips to basement/masonry wall with construction adhesive. Note: Regular 2x4s can be ripped on a table saw and used. 2) Tack rfoil horizontally to furring strips using staples. Pull it tight along the wall, but make sure the rfoil is not touching the basement wall. 3) Seal all seams with 2 Reflective Foil Tape (All tape should be applied using a flat edge taping tool to ensure good adhesion). 4) Fasten 2x2 furring strip over rfoil insulation using normal installation methods. 5) Attach drywall or paneling as usual.
WE WE MEET YOUR NEEDS AROUND THE WORLD PHONE: (574) FAX: (574) Crawlspaces With rfoil Double Bubble Foil Helps reduce heat loss and prevent cold floors Adds extra 14.8 R-Value (based on ASTM C236 test) No nesting support for insects and rodents Helps prevent ground moisture from causing dry rot Helps prevent condensation from causing mold and bacteria growth Excellent vapor and radon barrier if needed Installation Notes: Installing rfoil DBF can be done under floor joists or between floor joists. DBF can be used with regular mass insulation, or instead of it. We recommend replacing old insulation before installing rfoil. If you want to use additional insulation with rfoil DBF, we strongly recommend using rigid insulation, following the instructions below. Wear safety goggles and head protection. Also wear a dust mask when removing old fiberglass insulation. Since there is a high probability of mold and bacteria in the old fiberglass, a respiration mask is ideal. 1) Don t use any fibrous insulation between floor joists. Use rigid insulation, if necessary. 2) Staple Double Bubble Foil from the Ring Box joist to the bottom of the sill plate as in N/S elevation. Use 16 wide material if necessary. 3) Staple DBF under the floor joists. Be sure to seal it well around the perimeter (illustration #2). (All tape should be applied using a flat edge taping tool to ensure good adhesion). Builders Note: For higher R-Value 1) Install a wood strapping over the Double Bubble Foil perpendicular to the joists (skip this step if you have used 16 material, and installed it between the floor joists). 2) Nail rigid insulation following the manufacturer s instructions. Make sure the airspace between the DBF and rigid insulation is well sealed.
WE WE MEET YOUR NEEDS AROUND THE WORLD PHONE: (574) FAX: (574) Residential Housewrap With No-Tear Radiant Barrier PERF or SOLID Ideal housewrap for residential construction Quick and easy to install Provides reflective insulation for radiant heat loss/gain Serves as standard wind block already used on all new construction Solid No-Tear serves as a moisture & vapor barrier Blocks up to 97% of radiant heat 1) Unroll No-Tear Radiant Barrier horizontally around perimeter of house. Use same methods for installing regular housewrap. Staplein place every ) Cut out any holes for doors and windows. 3) If you are using No-Tear SOLID, seal all seams with 2 Reflective Foil Tape (All tape should be applied using a flat edge taping tool to ensure good adhesion). You should be using No-Tear SOLID, only if building codes require a vapor barrier on the exterior of the house (warm weather climates only). If you are using No-Tear PERF, reflective tape is not necessary. Use No-Tear PERF if a vapor barrier is required on the interior of the house. Using No-Tear SOLID in this type of application can result in vapor lock. 4. Attach siding or bricks using usual method. If possible, leave an airgap between the bricks and the No-Tear.
WE WE MEET YOUR NEEDS AROUND THE WORLD PHONE: (574) FAX: (574) Under Radiant Floor Heating Systems With rfoil Concrete Barrier Reduces heat loss by 77% Quick, easy and safe to install Helps to radiate the energy in the slab Reduces installation time and labor over alternative insulations 85 psi puncture resistance; 140 psi compression resistance (Highest in the industry) 100% vapor proof - creates a vapor, radon, and methane barrier Can be used with ice & snow metls 1) Unroll Concrete Barrier over the sand or gravel. Since there are bubbles on both sides, there is no right side up; either side will work. 2) Curl the seams 2 up the sidwall. This prevents horizontal heat loss. 3) Butt the edges together. 4) Seal the seams with 3 white poly tape (All tape should be applied using a flat edge taping tool to ensure good adhesion). 5) Install Radiant Heating and pour the concrete as usual. Builders Note: Adding 1 of sand over Concrete Barrier will facilitate water drainage, thus shortening actual curing time. WE International also offers concrete curing blankets for winter use.
