Mr. Ulbricht has significant experience in coordinating and optimizing multi-discipline offshore construction activities. Mr. Ulbricht is co-owner of U.S. Patents which provide solutions to maximize the loadout capacity and transport capacity for very large offshore structures on limited-capacity barges. He has held senior level construction and project management positions at Shell Oil, Transocean Ltd, and Pool Offshore Company, and had lead roles in Joint Ventures with BP, ExxonMobil and Conoco Phillips. Mr. Ulbricht has managed key aspects of projects that ranged from several million dollars to multi-billion dollars installed in water depths less than 100ft to over 8,000 ft. His international project experience includes work in South Africa, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Curaçao, Holland, Singapore, Malaysia, Finland, and Norway. Mr. Ulbricht holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. Mars B Development / Olympus Tension Leg Platform (TLP) Offshore Coordination Team Lead responsible for coordinating and planning of all TLP activities leading up to 1st oil/gas production, and for coordinating all Marine Vessel activities and SIMOPs in the Mar Development Field. Overall responsibility for optimizing the multi-discipline offshore schedule to minimize critical path to 1st production. Member of Project Leadership Team. Advisor to Host Transportation & Installation Team Lead. TLP was installed in the GoM in 3,100 Ft. W.D. Perdido Spar Construction Lead and Offshore Coordination Team (OCT) Lead responsible for Topsides Fabrication, Spar Installation and Offshore Hook-up in the GoM in over 8000 ft W.D. OCT Lead role focused on offshore planning for vessels in all Perdido field campaigns and for execution of all construction activities on the Spar facility. Overall responsibility for optimizing the offshore schedule to minimize critical path to 1st production. Member of Project Leadership Team, Shell/ Alliance Engineering Steering Team and Perdido Regulatory/Certification Team. Advisor to Host Transportation & Installation Team Lead. Great White, Gumusut, MSLNG, and ESPRIT Projects Construction Team Lead for Great White Development (GoM), Gumusut FPU (Malaysia), Shell ESPRIT Offshore Installation Vessel Study Team and MSLNG production platform (Venezuela). Completed industry solution initiative studies on Great White. Delivered Gumusut FPU construction studies thru System Select Phase. Delivered ESPRIT Heavy Lift Installation Vessel operations report. 3 Holstein Spar Seconded to BP as Transportation & Installation Team Lead for BP-operated Spar facility. Responsible for cost, design, schedule, safety, quality and execution of the Spar installation in the GoM in 4,433 ft. W.D. Completed spar installation on P30 schedule despite compressed back-to-back execution of Hull and Topsides offshore installation/integration and coordination with BP s Mad Dog Spar installation. Set several records on Holstein: 1) installed largest spar ever built, 2) set GoM heavy lift record on 8400-ton North Process Module, 3) set world heavy lift record for crane vessel on dynamic positioning DP system lift, and 4) first single piece offshore Drilling Rig lift and set. Brutus TLP Transportation and Installation Team Lead responsible for TLP transportation and installation in the GoM in 2,985 ft. W.D. Member of Project Leadership Team. Reassigned to the Holstein Spar project during Brutus Execute Phase. Ursa TLP Transportation and Installation Team Lead and Project Engineer responsible for: a) coordinating design, fabrication, and installation of owner furnished support equipment/structures; b) refurbishment/ modifications to critical tendon tensioning equipment; c) interface coordination between Installation Team and Module/component fabrication sites; d) coordinating Deck Modules and component transports to the Curacao Deck/Hull offshore integration site. Installation Team Lead role for lift/set and integration of Deck Modules onto the Hull in Curacao, TLP tow from Curacao to GoM and TLP installation in GoM 4,072 ft. W.D. Mars TLP 1996 Installation Field Engineer supporting TLP tow and installation in the GoM in 2,940 ft. W.D. Ram/Powell TLP Structural Systems Engineering Lead on a joint venture Integrated Design Team responsible for TLP Topsides secondary steel design, weight control, engineering focal point for deck cranes, and supply boat mooring system design, fabrication and installation. Supply boat mooring system included the first permanent installation of Suction Piles in the GoM and the deepest water depth installation of Suction Piles in the world at that time. Lead Project Engineer for TLP tow and installation, and refurbishment of critical Tendon tensioning equipment. Project Leadership Team Interface focal point responsible for coordinating all integrated activities between the Installation, Integration, Operations and Drilling Teams. Installation Team Lead during TLP installation in the GoM in 3,220 ft. W.D. Member of Offshore Coordination Team responsible for optimizing multi-discipline offshore schedule to 1 st oil/gas production. Auger TLP Lead Construction Project Engineer responsible for fabrication and installation of 610 ton TLP Tendon Foundation Templates (4) in 2860 ft. W.D. in the GoM. Coordinated design and regulatory approval of the TLP s aluminum helidecks, a first for Shell and the first on a GoM facility to obtain USCG approval. Responsible for the design, manufacture, and installation of the TLP s Supply Boat Barrier Nets, the first application of barrier nets in the offshore industry. Field Engineer for the TLP Hull/Deck offshore float-over mating, tow and offshore installation, including deployment of the TLP s eight leg spread mooring system. 4 Transocean, Ltd , Project Manager Various Locations Sonat Rather and Sonat Richardson Okpo, South Korea Both Semisubmersible mobile offshore drilling units (MODUs). "Sonat Rather" Construction Manager responsible for all shipyard site fabrication activities. "Sonat Richardson" Quality Assurance Manager responsible for establishment and implementation of the Construction Site QA/QC programs. Coordinated regulatory approvals. Coordinated on-board equipment/system acceptance testing program. Sonat Richardson Upgrade - Pascagoula, Mississippi Project Manager responsible for modifying and extending the semisubmersible MODU s existing mooring system from 2000 ft. W.D to 5000 ft. W.D. capability. Fabricated and installed a custom-built powered reel for storage of 10,000 ft. spare mooring wire inside MODU s the upper deck, which included significant modifications to structures and mechanical and electrical systems. Sonat Rather - Okpo, South Korea & Hong Kong Sonat Richardson - South Korea & Gulf of Oman Project Manager for installation of client-specific high pressure mud pumps and mud processing equipment with associated structural, electrical and piping modifications. Polar Pioneer Osaka and Ariake, Japan Lead Structural Engineer responsible for the semisubmersible MODU s structural design and structural fabrication inspections. Coordinated on-board equipment/system acceptance testing program. Coordinated regulatory approvals. Focal point responsible for large diameter K-4 mooring chain manufacture and inspection. MODU was the first harsh-environment semisubmersible MODU specifically designed to operate year around above the Arctic Circle offshore Norway. Offshore Mercury - Pascagoula, Mississippi Project Manager responsible for major dry-docking, modifications, and life extension program for the jack-up drilling rig, which included conversion of the vessel's 'slot-type' drilling package to a 'cantilever' package (a first in the offshore industry), installation of a new mud processing system, refurbishment of the accommodations, and numerous structural and equipment modifications, repairs, and replacements. John Shaw - Lead Project Engineer responsible for design activities on the semisubmersible MODU for the installation of H.P. mud pumps and mud oil storage system with associated structural, electrical and piping modifications. Discoverer Cape Town, South Africa Lead Project Engineer responsible for all structural modifications and coordination of the drilling system testing program during the drillship s major dry-docking. Interocean III - Lead Project Engineer responsible for coordinating design and fabrication studies for major conversion of the jack-up s 'slot-type' drilling package to a 'cantilever' package. Super Yatzy - Antwerp, Belgium Member of the Engineering Team responsible for evaluating the dynamically positioned semisubmersible MODU s fabrication quality and in-service operability. 5 Offshore Comet and Offshore Jupiter Structural Engineer responsible for design of the stiffened plate hulls, helidecks and drilling package structures for both jack-up drilling rigs. Provided engineering support to the fabrication sites during construction. Pool Offshore Company Construction Engineer Pool Rig 53 and Pool Rig 54 and Durban, South Africa Lead Project Engineer responsible for providing construction and regulatory certification support to the fabrication site for jack-up rig "Pool Rig 53". Construction Site Manager responsible for fabrication of the sister vessel "Pool Rig 54".
