1 September 25, 2013 Addendum #2 B14/9830 East Campus Student Life/Business Services/DSR Renovation SPECIFICATIONS for East Campus Student Life/Business Services/DSR Renovation Dated: September 5, 2013 This addendum supplements and amends the original Specifications and Drawings, dated July 31, 2013, and shall be taken into account in preparing bids, and shall become part of the Contract Documents. In case of conflicts between the Specifications, Drawings, and this Addendum, this Addendum shall govern. Careful note of this Addendum shall be taken and all trades affected shall be fully advised for performance of the work. Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the proposal form. Failure to do so may subject bidder to disqualification. Item # I. Item # II. Item # III. Question: Do you have information of the door manufacturer? Do you have information of the aluminum door frame manufacturer for the aluminum frames called out on the plans? Answer: Refer to construction documents Specification Sections , and Question: What is the price range of this project? Answer: This information is not available. 3. Question: Please let us know which permits the General Contractor is responsible for and which permits Pima Community College is responsible for. Answer: Each phase of the project will be permitted separately by the State Fire Marshal, such that occupancy can be granted as each phase is completed. Contractors will need to provide fire sprinkler shop drawings for each phase to the Architect, who will give to Owner. PCC will submit permit applications to Fire Marshal. Please refer to Specification Section Regulatory Requirements. 4. Question: Will you require that we install temporary walls at work areas to protect students and staff from debris and noise. If so do the temporary walls have to be of gypsum board or can they be visqueen? Answer: Refer to construction documents specification section Question: Will this project be phased out. Do we need to finish one area before we start another? Will all the projects take place at the same time? Answer: See Construction Documents for phasing information and direction. 6. Question: What are the work hours? Answer: Hours of Operation for Contractors are primarily day-time, with no minimum start time. Off-hours may be needed for disruptive, noisy work or utility shut-downs. Please refer to Article 7, Section of the Contract and General Conditions between Owner and Contractor 7. Question: Can we work weekends and holidays? Answer: Hours of Operation for Contractors are primarily day-time, with no minimum start time. Answer: PCC s Environmental Health and Safety will conduct/perform an Asbestos survey on the construction locations 9. Question: What site management do you expect from our company? Will you require a Quality Control Manager, Superintendent, Safety officer, etc? Answer: Superintendent required see Contract and General Conditions between Owner and Contractor Section 7.8. See Construction Documents Sheet A0.0.1 for Life Safety and PCC General Notes.

5 1. PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1. THE FOLLOWING REVISIONS AND/OR CLARIFICATIONS SHALL BE MADE TO THE BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. REVISE AND AMEND THE DOCUMENTS FOR THE ABOVE NAMED PROJECT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS ADDENDUM. THE BID SHALL REFLECT THESE ADDENDUM CHANGES AND EACH BIDDER SHALL MAKE REFERENCE IN THEIR BID TO THIS ADDENDUM ALL BIDDING REQUIREMENTS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS SHALL APPLY TO THIS ADDENDUM AS ORIGINALLY INDICATED IN THE APPLICABLE PORTIONS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS, UNLESS OTHERWISE MODIFIED BY THIS ADDENDUM GENERAL CLARIFICATIONS CLARIFICATIONS: The Owner will provide in-house inspections. The design team will perform observational visits Per light fixture schedule, all existing light fixtures being re-used are to be cleaned and re-lamped Per sensor legend on sheet E001, all occupancy sensors are new Documents require the Contractor to relocate fire protection sprinkler heads, add heads, and/or remove heads as needed based on new floor plans. Any new sprinkler heads and escutcheons shall match the existing head types and finishes New flooring will be installed at all saw-cut areas Please minimize interference and contact between the Contractor / Subcontractors and students. 2. PART 2 PROJECT MANUAL 2.1. SPECIFICATIONS ISSUED: Specification Section Termite Control -- Add Section, attached NARRATIVE CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS: Specification Section Construction Facilities Field Offices and Sheds: Delete A. 7 SECTION TERMITE CONTROL 1. PART 1 - GENERAL 1.1. SECTION INCLUDES Soil treatment for termite control below slab on grade REFERENCES EPA - Environmental Protection Agency - Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act SUBMITTALS Submit under provisions of Section Product Data: Indicate each toxicant to be used, composition by percentage, dilution schedule, intended application rate Provide certificate of compliance from authority having jurisdiction indicating approval of toxicants Manufacturer's Installation Instructions: Indicate caution requirements PROJECT RECORD DOCUMENTS Submit under provisions of Section Accurately record moisture content of soil before application, date and rate of application, areas of application, diary of meter readings and corresponding soil coverage MAINTENANCE DATA Submit under provisions of Section Maintenance Data: Indicate retreatment schedule QUALIFICATIONS Applicator: Company specializing in performing the work of this Section with minimum 10 years documented experience approved by manufacturer and licensed by the State of California REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS Conform to applicable codes and regulations, including requirements of Arizona Structural Pest Control Commission, ADEQ, for requirements for application, application licensing, and authority to use toxicant chemicals in accordance with EPA. SEQUENCING Apply toxicant immediately prior to installation of sand cushion under slabs-on-grade and not more than 12 hours prior to installation of vapor barrier under slabs-on-grade WARRANTY Provide five year warranty under provisions of Section Warranty: Include coverage for damage and repairs to building and building contents caused by termites. Repair damage. Retreat where required Inspect and report annually to Owner in writing. 2. PART 2 - PRODUCTS 2.1. MATERIALS 2.2. MIX Toxicant Chemical: Generic chemical, EPA and Local authority approved; synthetically color dyed to permit visual identification of treated soil Diluent: Recommended by toxicant manufacturer Mix toxicant to manufacturer's instructions OTHER MATERIALS Provide all other materials, not specifically described but required for complete and proper installation of this work, as selected by the contractor and subject to the approval of the Architect. 3. PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1. SURFACE CONDITIONS Inspection 3.2. APPLICATION Prior to all work of this section, carefully inspect the installed work of all other trades and verify that all such work is complete to the point where this installation may properly commence Verify that concrete pavement may be installed in strict accordance with the original design, all pertinent codes and regulations, and all pertinent portions of the referenced standards In the event of discrepancy, immediately notify the Architect Do not proceed with installation in areas of discrepancy until all such discrepancies have been fully resolved Spray apply and inject toxicant in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and per referenced regulations. 9 Apply toxicant at locations indicated in Schedule at end of Section Apply extra treatment to structure penetration surfaces such as pipe or ducts, and soil penetrations such as grounding rods or posts Retreat disturbed treated soil with same toxicant as original treatment If inspection or testing identifies the presence of termites, retreat soil and retest PROTECTION OF FINISHED WORK Protect finished Work under provisions of Section Do not permit soil grading over treated work SCHEDULES Locations: Under Slabs-on-Grade.
