SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The BERCHTOLD Compression Superstructure System is designed, engineered and manufactured to meet rigid design specifications. It is an adaptable system that may be ordered in a variety of heights from 1 to 6 and will support all BERCHTOLD Teletom and Chromophare products, including tandem booms. The standard BERCHTOLD Compression structure may be field modified to accept tandem booms. TELETOM INFORMATION Many health care facilities order TELETOM Power Booms for several different rooms or areas. Each of these units may be equipped differently. They may require different numbers of electric circuits, different numbers of low voltage cables, and different numbers and kinds of medical gases. Be sure to check customer order documents for specific requirements for your installation. Many TELETOM Power Booms are ordered with an optional Televac Smoke Evacuation System. 5 NOTES: BERCHTOLD and/or BERCHTOLD s contractor is responsible for: 1. Providing a PE ceiling structure and mounting instructions, designed, engineered, and manufactured to meet rigid BERCHTOLD design specifications. Structure to be shipped pre-assembled. Optional Installation Service Available: - Relocation of structures from on-site storage area to specified room locations - Installation of structures in specified pre-prepared locations. - Removal of all refuse to on-site buyer supplied dumpster. Buyer or Buyer s designee is responsible for: 1. Provide pallet jack to relocate products from on-site storage area to specified room locations. 2. Provide building structural detail drawings (interstitial height required). 3. Ensuring that the existing sub-structure and building deck to which the compression structure system is attached is able to withstand the loads imposed upon it by our systems. (Standard CHROMOPHARE / TELETOM weight = 801 lbs, moment = 4071 ft-lbs, Tandem TELETOM weight = 1385 lbs, moment = 7800 ft-lbs). 4. All welding of the structural top plate. (Optional installation service only includes bolted or all-thread attachments to the structure). 5. Relocation of any installed materials, including utilities, in ceiling spaces to receive structure supports. 6. Sub-structural and/or building deck work to prepare the installation site to accept the BERCHTOLD structure. 7. Providing unobstructed access required to the ceiling and clearance from where the structure attaches to the prepared site. 8.
