The exhibition went very well as we got to meet with a lot of international customers and we ve had a good throughput. We have met with a lot of companies that we have been wanting to meet with for quite some time, so it was a really good opportunity for us. We will definitely take part next year. 3 MARKET OVERVIEW AND TOP PROJECTS Qatar s GDP growth is expected to improve in Qatar s economy is poised to record a 3.1% real GDP (at constant prices) growth in 2018 according to IMF, supported by the increasing gas production and sustained spending on the FIFA World Cup A quick look at the Doha skyline reveals just how much activity there is in Qatar s construction sector currently, with cranes and scaffolding-clad towers, the thump of piledrivers and convoys of cement trucks snaking through the city s streets. The lead up to the World Cup will see a major amount of construction, though the completion of infrastructure projects such as the Doha Metro and various major road works will see a slowdown in contracts well before kick-off. With the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia now completed, there is a higher degree of concentration on Doha's preparedness for 2022, with a flurry of medium and smaller projects likely to result, as gaps in current planning are filled. Qatar remains a global centre for the industry as it gears up for 2022 FIFA World Cup. Indeed, sector players now expect an increase of smaller contracts in the second half of 2018 and beyond, as the country s plans for the tournament are realised and major projects are speeding up to meet their pre-2022 deadlines. Marsa Arabia Resort Project - The Pearl Qatar Project Budget: US$ 1 Billion Construction of a 5-star hotel and branded residences. Marsa Arabia Resort is an exclusive property development project situated along the waterfront at The Pearl-Qatar. Lusail Plaza Construction Project - CP7B Project Budget: US$ 1.1 Billion The project's scope of work involves the construction of CP7B lusail plaza with road A1, infrastructure works, public car park, Light Rail Transit (LRT) station structure located at Lusail, Doha, Qatar. Hilton Salwa Beach Resort Project Project Budget: US$ 1.1 Billion Construction of a Beach Resort comprising (362) rooms, including facilities such as a water park, a luxury marina and yacht club, a dive center, cinemas, a wealth of premier retail shopping and numerous restaurants. Doha Oasis Project Budget: US$ 1.3 Billion Construction of (14 Nos.) nine-storey buildings featuring penthouses and (245) apartments, including a mixed-use podium comprising housing, retail outlets and one of the largest indoor amusement theme parks, a 7-star hotel consisting of 28 floors, six restaurants, a gymnasium, indoor pool ans business center.
