Couplers are fixed, stressing, or moveable. The prinipal dimensions of anhorages and ouplers are given in Annex 2, Annex 3, Annex 4, Annex 5, Annex 17, Annex 18, Annex 19, Annex 20, Annex 21, Annex 22, Annex 23, and Annex Designation End anhorage e.g. S A Fixed (F) or stressing (S) Anhorage Designation of the tendon with information on number, ross-setional area, and harateristi tensile strength of prestressing steel strands Coupler e.g. F K Fixed (F), stressing (S) or moveable (B) Coupler anhor head (K or H) Designation of the tendon with information on number, ross-setional area, and harateristi tensile strength of prestressing steel strands Anhorage, FA or SA General Anhorage of prestressing steel strands is ahieved by wedges and anhor heads, see Annex 1, Annex 2, and Annex 6. The anhor heads of the fixed and stressing anhorage are idential. A differentiation is needed for the onstrution works.

Page 8, The wedges of inaessible fixed anhors are seured with either a wedge retaining plate or springs and a wedge retaining plate. An alternative is pre-loking eah individual prestressing steel strand with ~ 0.5 F pk and applying a wedge retaining plate. Where F pk... Charateristi value of maximum fore of one single prestressing steel strand Restressable and exhangeable tendon Signifiant to a restressable and exhangeable tendon is the exess length of the prestressing steel strands, see Annex 1. The extent of the exess length depends on the jak used for restressing or releasing. The protrusions of the prestressing steel strands require a permanent orrosion protetion and an adapted ap Fixed and stressing oupler General Anhorage of prestressing steel strands is ahieved by wedges and oupler anhor heads, see Annex 1, Annex 3, Annex 4, and Annex Single plane oupler, FK or SK The oupling is ahieved by means of a oupler anhor head K. The prestressing steel strands of the first onstrution stage are anhored by means of wedges in mahined ones, drilled in parallel. The arrangement of the ones of the first onstrution stage is idential to that of the anhor head of a fixed or stressing anhorage. The prestressing steel strands of the seond onstrution stage are anhored in a irle around the ones of the first onstrution stage by means of wedges in mahined ones, drilled at an inlination of 7. The wedges for the seond onstrution stage are seured by means of holding springs and a over plate Sleeve oupler, FH or SH The oupler anhor head H is of the same basi geometry as the anhor head of the fixed or stressing anhorage. Compared to the anhor head of the fixed or stressing anhorage, the oupler anhor head H is higher and provide an external thread for the oupler sleeve. The wedges for the seond onstrution stage are seured by means of a wedge retaining plate. The onnetion between the oupler anhor heads H of the first and seond onstrution stages is ahieved by means of a oupler sleeve Moveable oupler, BK or BH Anhorage of prestressing steel strands is ahieved by wedges and oupler anhor heads, see Annex 1, Annex 3, Annex 4, and Annex 6. The moveable oupler is either a single plane oupler or a sleeve oupler in a oupler sheathing made of steel or plasti. Length and position of the oupler sheathing are for the expeted elongation displaement, see Clause The oupler anhor heads and the oupler sleeve of the moveable oupler are idential to the oupler anhor heads and the oupler sleeve of the fixed or stressing oupler. The wedges for the first onstrution stage are seured by means of a wedge retaining plate and the wedges of the seond onstrution stage are seured by wedge retaining plate or holding springs and over plate. A 100 mm long and at least 3.5 mm thik PE-HD insert is installed at the deviating point at the end of the trumpet. The insert is not required for plasti trumpets where the duts are slipped over the plasti trumpet.

Page 9, Layout of the anhorage reess All bearing trumplates, anhor heads, and oupler anhor heads are plaed perpendiular to the axis of the tendon, see Annex 16. The dimensions of the anhorage reess are adapted to the prestressing jaks used. The ETA holder saves for referene information on the minimum dimensions of the anhorage reess. The formwork for the anhorage reess should be slightly onial for ease of removal. In ase of an internal anhorage fully embedded in onrete, the reess is designed so as to permit a reinfored onrete over with the required dimensions and in any ase with a thikness of at least 20 mm. In ase of an exposed anhorage, see Annex 16, onrete over on anhorage and bearing trumplate is not required. However, the exposed surfaes of bearing trumplate and steel ap are provided with orrosion protetion. 1.3 Designation and range of the tendons Designation Tendon e.g Internal PT Number of prestressing steel strands (02 to 61) Prestressing steel strand Cross-setional area of prestressing steel strands (140 or 150 mm 2 ) Charateristi tensile strength of the prestressing steel strands The tendons omprise 02 to 61 tensile elements, 7-wire prestressing steel strands aording to Annex Range General Prestressing and overstressing fores are given in the orresponding standards and regulations in fore at the plae of use. The maximum prestressing and overstressing fores aording to Euroode 2 are listed in Annex 15. The tendons onsist of 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 12, 13, 15, 16, 19, 22, 24, 25, 27, 31, 37, 42, 43, 48, 55, or 61 prestressing steel strands. By omitting prestressing steel strands in the anhorages and ouplers in a radially symmetrial way, also tendons with numbers of prestressing steel strands lying between the numbers given above an be installed. Any unneessary hole either remains undrilled or is provided with a short piee of prestressing steel strand and a wedge is inserted. For oupler anhor head K the ones of the outer pith irle, seond onstrution stage, may be equally redistributed if prestressing steel strands are omitted. However, the overall dimensions of the oupler anhor head K remain unhanged. With regard to dimensions and reinforement, anhorages and ouplers with omitted prestressing steel strands remain unhanged ompared to anhorages and ouplers with a full number of prestressing steel strands n wire prestressing steel strand Nominal diameter mm Nominal ross-setional area mm 2 Maximum harateristi tensile strength MPa Annex 7 lists the available tendon range for n

Page 18, Design General It is the responsibility of the ETA holder to ensure that all neessary information on design and installation is submitted to those responsible for the design and exeution of the strutures exeuted with "BBR VT with 02 to 61 Strands". Design of the struture permits orret installation and stressing of the tendons. The reinforement in the anhorage zone permits orret plaing and ompating of onrete Fixed and stressing oupler The prestressing fore at the seond onstrution stage may not be greater than that at the first onstrution stage, neither during onstrution, nor in the final state, nor due to any load ombination Anhorage Reess Clearane is required for handling of the prestressing jak and for stressing. The dimensions of the anhorage reess are adapted to the prestressing jak used. The ETA holder saves for referene information on the minimum dimensions of the anhorage reesses and appropriate learane behind the anhorage. The anhorage reess is designed with suh dimensions as to ensure the required onrete over and at least 20 mm at the protetion ap in steel in the final state. In ase of exposed anhorages onrete over on anhorage and bearing trumplate is not required. However, the exposed surfae of bearing trumplate and steel ap is provided with orrosion protetion Maximum prestressing fores Prestressing and overstressing fores are speified in the respetive standards and regulations in fore at the plae of use. Annex 15 lists the maximum possible prestressing and overstressing fores aording to Euroode Centre spaing, edge distane, and reinforement in the anhorage zone Centre spaing, edge distane, helix, and additional reinforement given in Annex 17, Annex 18, Annex 19, Annex 20, Annex 21, Annex 22, Annex 23, and Annex 24 are adopted, see Clause 1.8. Verifiation of transfer of prestressing fores to strutural onrete is not required if entre spaing and edge distane of anhorages and ouplers as well as grade and dimensions of additional reinforement, see Annex 17, Annex 18, Annex 19, Annex 20, Annex 21, Annex 22, Annex 23, and Annex 24, are onformed to. In the ase of grouped anhorages, the additional reinforement of the individual anhorages an be ombined, provided appropriate anhorage is ensured. However, number, ross-setional area and position with respet to the bearing trumplates remain unhanged. The reinforement of the struture is not employed as additional reinforement. Reinforement exeeding the required reinforement of the struture may be used as additional reinforement, provided appropriate plaing is possible. The fores outside the area of the additional reinforement are verified and, if neessary, dealt with by appropriate reinforement. If required for a speifi projet design, the reinforement given in Annex 17, Annex 18, Annex 19, Annex 20, Annex 21, Annex 22, Annex 23, and Annex 24 may be modified in aordane with the respetive regulations in fore at the plae of use as well as with the relevant approval of the loal authority and of the ETA holder to provide equivalent performane.

Page 19, Tendons in masonry strutures load transfer to the struture Post-tensioning kits are primarily used in strutures made of onrete. They an, however, be used with other strutural materials, e.g. in masonry strutures. However, there is no partiular assessment in EAD for these appliations. Hene, load transfer of stressing fore from the anhorage to masonry strutures is via onrete or steel members, designed aording to the European Tehnial Assessment, espeially aording to the Clauses 1.8, 1.10, , and , or aording to Euroode 3, respetively. The onrete or steel members have dimensions as to permit a fore of 1.1 F pk being transferred into the masonry. The verifiation is aording to Euroode 6 as well as to the respetive standards and regulations in fore at the plae of use Installation General It is assumed that the produt will be installed aording to the manufaturer s instrutions or in absene of suh instrutions aording to the usual pratie of the building professionals. Assembly and installation of tendons is only arried out by qualified PT speialist ompanies with the required resoures and experiene in the use of multi strand internal post-tensioning systems, see CWA The respetive standards and regulations in fore at the plae of use are onsidered. The ompany's PT site manager has a ertifiate, stating that she or he has been trained by the ETA holder and that she or he possesses the neessary qualifiations and experiene with the BBR VT with 02 to 61 Strands. The sequene of work steps for installation of anhorage, fixed and moveable oupler is desribed in Annex 26 and Annex 27. The tendons may be manufatured on site or in the fatory, i.e. prefabriated tendons. The tendons are arefully handled during prodution, transport, storage, and installation. To avoid onfusion on eah site, only prestressing steel strands with one nominal diameter are used. Bearing trumplate, anhor head, and oupler anhor head are plaed perpendiular to the tendon s axis, see Annex 16. Couplers are situated in a straight tendon setion. At the anhorages and ouplers, the tendon layout provides a straight setion over a length of at least 250 mm beyond the end of the trumpet. In ase of tendons with a minimum or redued radius of urvature after the trumpet, the following minimum straight lengths after the end of trumpet are reommended. Degree of filling 0.35 f 0.50, minimum straight length = 5 d i 250 mm Degree of filling 0.25 f 0.30, minimum straight length = 8 d i 400 mm Where f Degree of filling d i... mm... Nominal inner diameter of dut Before plaing the onrete, a final hek of the installed tendon or dut is arried out. In ase of the single plane oupler K, the prestressing steel strands are provided with markers to be able to hek the depth of engagement. In ase of a moveable oupler it is ensured by means of the orresponding position and length of the oupler sheath, that in the area of the oupler sheath and orresponding trumpet area a displaement of the moveable oupler of at least 1.15 l + 30 mm is possible without any hindrane, where l is the maximum expeted displaement of the oupler at stressing.

Page 20, Stressing operation With a mean onrete ompressive strength in the anhorage zone aording to the values laid down in Annex 17, Annex 18, Annex 19, Annex 20, Annex 21, Annex 22, Annex 23, and Annex 24 full prestressing may be applied. Stressing and, if appliable, wedging is arried out using a suitable prestressing jak. The wedging fore orresponds to approximately 25 kn per wedge. Elongation and prestressing fores are ontinuously heked during the stressing operation. The results of the stressing operation are reorded and the measured elongations ompared with the prior alulated values. After releasing the prestressing fore from the prestressing jak, the tendon is pulled in and redues the elongation by the amount of slip at the anhor head of the stressing anhorage. Information on the prestressing equipment has been submitted to Österreihishes Institut für Bautehnik. The ETA holder keeps available information on prestressing jaks and appropriate learane behind the anhorage. The safety-at-work and health protetion regulations shall be omplied with Restressing Restressing of tendons in ombination with release and reuse of wedges is permitted, whereas the wedges bite into a least 15 mm of virgin strand surfae and no wedge bite remains inside the final length of the tendon between anhorages. Tendons with 7-wire prestressing steel strands that remain restressable throughout the working life of the struture. Grease, wax, or an equivalent soft material is used as filling material or irulating dry air is used as orrosion protetion. Moreover, a strand protrusion at the stressing anhor remains with a length ompatible with the prestressing jak used Exhanging tendons Exhange of unbonded tendons is permitted, subjet of aeptane at the pae of use. The speifiations for exhangeable tendons are defined during the design phase. For exhangeable tendons, wax or grease is used as filling material or irulating dry air is used as orrosion protetion. Moreover, a strand protrusion remains at the stressing anhor with a length allowing safe release of the omplete prestressing fore. Stressing and fixed anhorages are aessible and adequate spae is provided behind the anhorages Filling operations Grouting Grout is injeted through the inlet holes until it esapes from the outlet tubes with the same onsisteny. To avoid voids in the hardened grout speial measures are applied for long tendons, tendon paths with distint high points, or inlined tendons. All vents, grouting inlets, and protetion aps are sealed immediately after grouting. In ase of ouplers K, the seond stage holes, wedges and springs are heked for leanness before and immediately after grouting the first onstrution stage. The standards observed for ement grouting in prestressing duts are EN 445, EN 446, and EN 447 or the standards and regulations in fore at the plae of use are applied for ready mixed grout Filling with grease, wax, and an equivalent soft material The reommendations of the supplier are relevant for the filling material applied. The filling proess with grease, wax, and an equivalent soft material follows a similar proedure as the one speified for grouting. However, a different filling proedure might be possible if permitted at the plae of use.

Page 21, Cirulating dry air Atively irulating dry air allows for orrosion protetion of tendons, provided a permanent monitoring of the drying and irulation system is in plae. This is in general only appliable to strutures of partiular importane. The respetive standards and regulations in fore at the plae of use are observed Filling reords The results of the grouting and filling operation are reorded in detail in filling reords Welding Duts may be welded. The helix may be welded to the bearing trumplate to seure its position. After installation of the prestressing steel strands further welding operations may not be arried out on the tendons. In ase of welding operations near tendons, preautionary measures are required to avoid damage to the orrosion protetion system. However, plasti omponents may be welded even after installation of the tendons. 2.3 Assumed working life The European Tehnial Assessment is based on an assumed working life of the BBR VT CONA CMI BT with 02 to 61 Strands of 100 years, provided that the BBR VT with 02 to 61 Strands is subjet to appropriate installation, use, and maintenane, see Clause 2.2.
