1 5th ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SITE PREPARATION PROJECT NUMBER: 9833 COLLEGE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA SECTION NOTICE TO BIDDERS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN: That sealed bids will be received by College Community School District, at the ESC (Educational Services Center), th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52404, until 10:00 a.m. (local time) on the 29 th day of June, The bids will be opened shortly thereafter in the same location as noted above and publicly read by the owner. The project consists of furnishing the following supplies, equipment, and/or service. Bids received after this time will not be accepted. All bidders are welcome to attend. 5 th ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SITE PREPARATION COLLEGE COMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICT PROJECT NO. (HHE #9833) C.C.S.D. File No DATED June 8, 2012 The bids are for a single Prime Contract (general, demolition, civil, mechanical and surface restoration combined) for preparation of a forthcoming elementary school. The project generally consists of site grading (20,000 CY) topsoil stripping, (43,000 CY) excavation/borrow, 200 LF 8 water main, 650 LF storm sewer, 3200 SY gravel parking lot, relocation of 4 pee wee ball fields with miscellaneous fencing and surface restoration. Segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Bids shall be on a unit price basis. The estimated quantities are not guaranteed, but are solely for the purpose of comparison of units. Final payment will be based on actual quantities constructed. Contract Time Information Mobilization must occur during the period of 7/17/12 thru 7/20/12 with commencement of construction by July 23, Milestones: - Remove borrow material from 2 sites identified on the school s campus, restore surface (i.e. topsoil and granular infields of ball fields) of the 2 borrow sites and repair access road damaged during the transport of soil from the borrow areas August 15, Complete fencing, finish grading and surface restoration of the 2 borrow sites September 3, Complete utility extensions, site grading to within 75 of the proposed building and complete permanent and/or temporary surface restoration of the majority of the site September 28, Grading activities contained within 75 of the proposed building pad, gravel parking lot and temporary erosion control seeding October 5, A pre-bid conference is scheduled for June 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the ESC (Educational Services Center), th Avenue SW, Cedar Rapids, IA Plans and specifications governing the construction of the proposed Work have been prepared by Hall & Hall Engineers, Inc of Hiawatha, Iowa. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waive informalities, and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemed in the best interest of the Owner.
