6 TECHNICAL PERFORMANCE WARRANTY VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS (VOCs) The warranty applies to concrete masonry and landscaping products intended for residential use only, manufactured by Permacon, a division of Oldcastle Building Products Canada, Inc. Under the strict condition that the provisions stated in the full-text warranty are complied with, Permacon guarantees the structural integrity of its concrete landscaping and masonry products, for a period of fifty (50) years from the date of purchase of the product. MANUFACTURER'S ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT PROGRAM MANUFACTURER'S PERFORMANCE TESTS COMMITMENT For more than 60 years, Permacon has been a leader in landscaping and masonry. Over the years, we have developed a wide range of products that has evolved to meet the demands of our customers. The world has changed as well, especially from an environmental point of view. In that sense, Permacon maintains its goal of providing quality products and increasing its involvement in eco-responsibility by producing environmentally-friendly and sustainable products, which can contribute to the new LEED system requirements. Our products contribute to indoor environment quality because they reduce the amount of pollutants, which can be irritating, odorous and potentially dangerous to installers or residential occupants. As our masonry products offer a natural and attractive finish, they do not need to be painted and therefore contribute to better indoor air quality. In addition, all of our facilities are listed in the Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation (CIPEC), which encourages more efficient use of energy resources. We have also taken measures to use gas more efficiently by gradually reducing our consumption and increasing our ability to optimize the use of this natural resource. Our packaging also contributes to environmental protection: we reuse our wooden pallets and recycle plastic. Moreover, we have recently integrated glass powder as a supplementary cementing material in some of our concrete mixes to further help reduce the cement proportion. This has a dual environmental effect since not only reduces the amount of cement in the atmosphere, but also gives a second life to materials made of glass that would otherwise be landfilled. This addition of post-consumer material to our concrete formulas contributes significantly to the LEED recycled content criterion from the Materials and Resources category. Finally, some of our products contribute directly to the LEED system. Our permeable pavers reduce runoff volume related to the rain water management criterion, while heat island reduction is achieved through the use of our pale-colored pavers and slabs with a high solar reflectance index, or through the use of vegetated honeycomb paving such as Boulevard Verde pavers. Post-consumer recycled content applies to Noble architectural block, with glass powder for all colors. Contribute Recycled Content Post-consumer (0% %) Post-consumer (0% -.5%) (see page 2) Building Product Disclosure and Optimization Material Ingredients Option : Material ingredients reporting ( point) Noble architectural block, with and without glass powder contributes to this credit due to the availability of Health Product Declarations and is valued as whole product out of the 20 needed for the purposes of credit achievement calculation. Contribute INGREDIENTS AND EMISSIONS HPD version 2.0 Health Product Declaration LEED v4 requirements for homes Applies to single family homes, multi-family (one to three stories), or multi-family (four to six stories). Includes homes and multifamily low-rise and multi-family mid-rise. MATERIALS AND RESOURCES PRODUCT CONTRIBUTIONS Environmentally Preferable Products Maximum of 4 points depending on both options in the context of each project. Option : Local Production 2 Framing, concrete (cement and aggregates) and drywall may contribute to the location valuation factor if the product is sourced (extracted, manufactured, purchased) within 60 km of the project site. AND/OR Option 2: Environmentally Preferable Products Noble architectural bloc, with and without glass powder does not meet the criteria of this option. Concrete must be composed of at least 30% of fly ash or slag as a substitute for cement and 50% recycled or recovered aggregate. Otherwise the concrete must be composed of 90% of recycled content or recovered aggregate. Contribute 2 Recycled Content Post-consumer (0% %) Post-consumer (0% -.5%) (see page 2) It is important to consider that the total amount of possible points reflects the number of achievable points in each credit category. The product itself cannot achieve this score, as defined above, but is considered as a beneficial element in order to obtain LEED credits. Copyright 206 by Vertima Inc. 07/207 to 07/208 Page 7
