Why Echohush Cosmo? Room acoustic panels have been around in the market for a number of years, and while all similar in acoustic performance, many have failed to address the other non acoustic issues faced in application. The changes in building codes and the concern for fire safety has seen a growing demand for acoustic panels to meet improved fire performance. The use of timber, plastics or PVC wraps now precludes the use of many panels. The ongoing need for more durable products that can resist moisture, vibration or vandalism has lead to our new product development. Echohush Cosmo = metal based: is a metal powder coated panel with an acoustic infill of choice, bringing to room acoustics a modern and dramatic approach.

Rooms need to be tuned to get the best audio performance

Echohush Cosmo improves audio quality by controlling reflected sound Panels placed around the room 1 Sound is generated by speakers 2 The sound travels through the room reflecting off all surfaces 3 Reflected sound that hits the Cosmo panels is reduced 4

Room intensity is decreased using Echohush Cosmo Due to the way in which the brain expects a degree of correlation between visual and auditory reports, a room with a reverberation time which is too high or too low, will not lead to a pleasurable experience for the room occupants due to poor sound quality. Dr John Peasre Department of Acoustics, Canterbury University

How do the panels work? The decorative slots in the panel allow the acoustic cavity infill to absorb noise energy, improving room acoustics by controlling reverberation. The open area left by the decorative slots has been calculated, so it does not have an effect on the ability of the absorber infill, to provide noise energy absorption. This allows for design and colour choice. Custom designs will be considered based on project job sizes and viability of pattern, as structure and acoustics need to be considered.

To suit modern living, they re available in a range of styles and colours

Product installation Echohush Cosmo is simple and easy to install, hung like a picture It is important to make sure that the rating of the wall fixings is 10kgs minimum per fixing Echohush Cosmo has its own pre folded boxed frame with fixing positions - pre cut into the frame, making it simple and easy to install

Product installation Echohush Cosmo panels are installed using a keyhole lock system cut into the frame of the panel A level should be used to establish fixing positions with measurements for the wall mounts as shown on the diagram The fixing positions are located as shown, and the panel can be turned 90 degrees and the same measurements will still apply

Product installation Echohush Cosmo panels can be fixed to plasterboard or masonry surfaces When fixing to plasterboard, use a wall mount as shown rated to 10kg If fixing to concrete use a 10kg masonry anchor Four fixing points are recommended

Product installation With the correct locations measured and wall mounts fixed, leave the screw head 5mm out from the wall as shown

Product installation Locate the panel onto the screws (in the centre of the keyholes) and move the panels so that the screws locate in the narrow part of the keyhole as shown.

Product installation The finished fitting is discrete, safe and secure

How many panels should I use? As each room is different we need to understand your room before we can advise on the number of panels needed please contact us directly for assistance in this calculation.

Acoustic performance The panels performance is governed by their in-fill Their performance in situ is also controlled by location and the room configuration. Fibreglass, Rockwool, Acoustics foam and Polyester can all be used as the acoustic absorbing medium depending on application. The panels NRC range from.85 to.90 Ask for specific information for your project. We have several case studies to help with your selection.
