1 Souderton Area School District: Addition/Renovations to Shannock Valley Elementary School ADDENDUM No. 1-E Issue Date: February 20, 2017 TO ALL BIDDERS: This addendum is issued to clarify, amend, or supersede the drawings and specifications as applicable and shall become a part of the Contract Documents for the subject project as if fully incorporated and bound therein. GENERAL: 1. The bid due date for Mechanical and Plumbing subcontracts has been extended by one week. Bid proposals for Mechanical and Plumbing Subcontracts for the E. Merton Crouthamel Elementary School Addition/Renovations Project will be received by Reynolds Energy Services, 3300 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA until 2:00 PM, Thursday, March 2, Proposals for Mechanical and Plumbing subcontracts should be ed in PDF format to mconchilla@reynoldsolutions.com prior to the bid due date/time. Bids should not be sent directly to Souderton Area School District. An original copy of the bid form with appropriate signatures must be received within three (3) days of the actual bid day. CLARIFICATIONS: 1. Automatic Temperature Controls are to be provided by the Mechanical Subcontractor. A new Johnson Controls Facility Explorer BAS was installed in the existing building in New HVAC controls shall be added to the existing system. Specification Instrumentation and Control for HVAC is available in the Specifications folder on the Documents tab on ebid. The current control system was installed by Dynamic Control Systems, Inc., 600 Clark Ave # 1, King of Prussia, PA 19406, Page 1 of 4

2 CHANGES TO SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Section Multiple Subcontract Summary: a. Specification Section , 2.3, C., Item 3 Change to read as follows: 19. All site sanitary sewer and manholes as indicated on all drawings will be installed by the Plumbing Subcontractor. 2. Section Temporary Utilities and Facilities: a. Specification Section , 1.2, D., Item 19 Change to read as follows: 3. Securing of the building and property shall be provided by General Trades Contractor. CHANGES TO DRAWINGS: 1. Drawing H1, First Floor Plan Area A - HVAC, Special Ed Classroom , revised duct layouts and relocated VAV boxes. (See H1) 2. Drawing H1, First Floor Plan Area A - HVAC, Art-114, revised kiln hood exhaust duct routing and exterior discharge location. (See H1) 3. Drawing H3, First Floor Plan Area A HVAC Piping, Special Ed Classroom , revised hot water piping layouts for relocated VAV boxes. (See SK-H3) RESPONSE TO CONTRACTOR RFIs Q1: Can you let me know if the bidding for the Plumbing Construction is a single prime contract for this project? Response: Bids for plumbing construction are subcontracts to Reynolds. Reynolds is acting as the prime contractor under an energy savings agreement. Q2: Specification for Water Softener states that tanks are fiberglass and also states that the tanks need to be ASME. Please clarify if tanks need to be ASME or they can be Fiberglass. Response: Water softener tanks should be ASME. Page 2 of 4

3 Q3: The Multiple Contract Summary indicates the plumbing is to run the sanitary and water to their municipal connection point. The GC s scope indicates these services are to be run to within 5 of the building from the connection point. Would you please provide clarification? Response: Plumbing subcontractor is responsible for providing the sanitary piping to the municipal connection point as stated in Spec. Section , 2.2.D.4 on page 16. The GC scope as stated in is corrected through this Addendum. Q4: Summary of Work: states that this is a design build project, is the mechanical contractor responsible for the design and obtaining a stamp? Response: This is a design/build project. However, the mechanical contractor is not responsible for design or stamped drawings. Reynolds is the design/build prime contractor and will provide design services in-house, including sealed permit drawings. Q5: Multiple Contract Summary: is asking for the HVAC sub to carry a warranty for penetrations to the existing roof. Is the mechanical contractor responsible for flashing all new penetrations to the existing roof? if so how long of a warranty? Response: Any penetrations required through the roof of the existing structure that are less than 12 inches in any direction are the responsibility of the contractor requiring the penetration, including flashing. The remaining warranty of the existing roof must be maintained and not voided by the work of the subcontractor. Roofing work should be performed by a roofer certified by the roofing manufacturer. Q6: Temporary Utilities and Facilities: : is asking for the mechanical contractor to supply and install temporary heat, AC and humidity control after building is closed up. Is the mechanical contractor responsible for power and gas to the temp equipment? Response: Yes. Q7: Temporary Utilities and Facilities: states securing of the building and property shall be the responsibility of the HVAC subcontractor. Is the mechanical contractor to include security for all trades? Response: Securing of the building and property shall be provided by General Trades Contractor. Page 3 of 4
