3 HDPE Pipe, shall be hi gher pe rformance, hi gh m olecular w eight, hi gh-density polyethylene pipe, and shall be a nominal DIPS (Ductile Iron Pipe Size). The pipe material shall be a Type III, Class C, Category 5, PE33 material as described in ASTM D Minimum cell classification values of the pipe material shall be ( C) as referenced in ASTM D The SDR shall be as sp ecified, with SDR 11 as a minimum. The fittings supplied under t his s pecification s hall be m olded f rom a polyethylene compound having a cell classification equal to or exceeding the cell classification of the pipe supplied under this specification. Detailed Provisions, section.10 (Ref. No. 7 through 15 [7 through 12]) BACKFILLING : CHANGE the 1 st paragraph: Controlled Density Fill, per City of Cincinnati Supplement to the State of Ohio (ODOT) Construction and Material specifications, Section above the "initial backfill" shall be required for Type "B" conduit and in the following locations: A. Where the trench parallels a road or street pavement and any part of the trench is within two feet of the edge of the pavement, control density fill shall be used and shall extend to the pavement subgrade for the entire width of the trench. B. Where the trench crosses a road or street pavement, control density fill shall be used and shall extend two feet on each side of the pavement at pavement subgrade (and shall extend beyond that point to the top of the initial backfill over the pipe at the angle of repose for bank run gravel). ADD the following text and CHANGE the 3rd paragraph: For Type B and Type C conduit compacted bank run gravel backfill above the initial backfill shall be required for all conduits and trenches under sidewalks, driveway and parking lot pavements, when not within two feet of a road or street pavement and not within the right of way. If within two feet of the road or street pavement or within the right of way, Controlled Density Fill above the initial backfill shall be required for all conduits and trenches under sidewalks, driveway and parking lot pavements. The following is Clarification text to the pipe bedding and initial backfill specifications: The City of Cincinnati Supplement to the ODOT specifications states under.10 Page 3 of 4

4 Backfilling starting in the middle of paragraph 3: Place backfill material below the haunches of the pipe and tamp to the specified density. Place an additional six to eight inch layer on each side of the pipe and compact. Backfill all conduits, except Type E, evenly on both sides of the pipe and to a minimum depth of one foot above the pipe for the full width of the trench with granular material placed in layers and pneumatically tamped. Therefore, the Contractor may use the same material for the bedding and for the initial backfill up to 12 inches above the top of the pipe. Standard Drawing Acc. No states: Class of material and depth of bedding under conduit: 6 inches No. 57 clean washed Type #1 gravel for conduit 27 to 60 inches in diameter. Additionally the granular material may be No. 57 crushed stone. Plan Sheets Sheet No. 4 & 53: ADD the following to the Pipe Alternates NOTE: The HOBAS fiberglass pipe shall have a stiffness of SN 72. The Ductile Iron Pipe class shall be Pressure Class 250 for 42 inch, 150 for 36 inch, and 150 for 27 inch (nominal 30 inch). ADD the following to the Two-way Cleanout NOTE: The invert depth of the pipe at the cleanout shall be 12 feet below grade per the Engineers direction. If stacks are used they should be supported and encased with concrete and installed per Standard Drawing Acc. No ) Manhole bottoms can be either cast-in-place or pre-cast, except that if connecting to existing pipe they must be cast-in-place. (There is no PVC main on the job). 3) Wherever Type C conduit is called out, the specifications for granular apply wherever that segment crosses driveway, parking, sidewalk, or other areas where the specifications require it. 5 Dry Run Area Sewers, Phase 1 Contract A Project ID: _ Trade: General This proposal requires the bidder to provide both "UNIT PRICES" and a "BID ITEM TOTAL." In the appropriate columns, bidder shall enter price per unit for labor and materials for every bid item. Therefore, if the ESTIMATED QUANTITY of the bid item is more than one, e.g. 25, the unit price is one of this amount, e.g. 1/25th. The "COMBINED UNIT PRICE" is the sum of "LABOR" and "MATERIALS" as unit prices. The "BID ITEM TOTAL" is the sum of the "COMBINED UNIT PRICE" times the "ESTIMATED QUANTITY" for EACH item. The "UNOFFICIAL TOTAL" is the sum of "BID ITEM TOTAL" for every bid item. SEE "INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS" FOR EXAMPLES AND ILLUSTRATIONS. Ref. No. Spec.
