Two sets of three portables each were attached in (65m²); one set (of three portables) was attached to the north side, and the other set (of three portables) to the northeast side of the school. A group of two portables was later attached to the southeast side of the school in 1989 (235m²). These portables, constructed in, were relocated from another school. Renovations to the Library, Computer Lab and a Classroom were completed in The total building area including the portables is 3,254m². At present 293 students attend and are serviced by 32 staff members. The overall condition of the school is acceptable. Structural Summary: The building structure consists of concrete foundation walls on concrete strip footings. The floor is concrete slab on grade throughout. The Mechanical Room mezzanine is cast in place concrete in metal decking supported by OWSJ. The flat roof located above the Gymnasium is steel deck on steel joists supported by concrete block walls. The sloped roof is steel deck on steel beams supported by concrete block walls and steel columns. Non load bearing exterior walls consist of wood studs. The demising wall between most classrooms is wood stud with gypsum board finish. The structure is in acceptable condition. Envelope Summary: The exterior walls are clad with stucco and metal siding. The exterior wall at the main entrance is clad with wood siding. The building has aluminum windows and hollow metal doors. The flat roof has BUR and the sloped roof has sheet metal roofing. A walk is also provided at the bottom edge of the sloped roof which has TREMO aluminum coating on EPDM finish. The building envelope is in acceptable condition. Interior Summary: The main entry is adjacent to the offices and leads on to a corridor which continues in a circular configuration around the Gymnasium which is the center core of the building. The flooring consists of sheet vinyl flooring in vestibules, corridors and the Science Classroom. Vinyl floor tiles in the Classrooms, Art Room, Kindergarten Room, and Computer Classroom. Carpet in Administration area, Offices, Staff Room, Music Room and Library. Ceramic floor tiles in boy's washrooms and girl's washrooms. Gymnasium has pulastic Gym flooring. The majority of the walls are painted concrete block and gypsum board. Some classroom walls have vinyl covered gypsum board. The girl's and boy's washrooms have ceramic tile wall finish. Ceilings are acoustic ceiling tiles in most areas, painted gypsum board for the Science Prep Room, Kindergarten washroom, Kindergarten storage room, Staff Washrooms, Storage Rooms and Service Rooms. The interior is in acceptable condition. Mechanical Summary: The school is heated with two hot water heating boilers. Ventilation is provided by three ventilation units in the mechanical room. 32 F Portable and Mobile Buildings** - General: Two groups of three portables were constructed and attached to the school in. One set of portables is located at the north east side adjacent to the Library. The other set of portables is located at the north side adjacent to the Science Room. The portables butt up to the school's roof overhang (under the existing school's overhang wing walls, butting the portables and the original building) creating the link with wood framed floor constructed to match existing floor lines. Each portable has its own exit directly to the exterior, equipped with wood steps and railings. The total area of the two sets of three portables and links is 65m². Structural: Floor - Rigid steel frame (hollow steel sections) on concrete piles.
